It may be a battery issue but the time on the tablet is losing time quite substantially. After resetting the time a couple weeks ago, it now lags by 30 minutes. Does anyone know why and the fix for this?

Are you rooted? If so what ROM? If you are not rooted that sounds very much like a dying battery.

rooted after a long sturggle since it was updated to 3.20
now after rooting i tried many roms. but problem was getting increased.
after around 10 roms i tried GizRoot_v_2::
my phone is breathing a bit . just a bit better so now i am sure that this is a os related problem.
i have taken 2-3 pics but it still restarts for sure. just the difference is that it is able to take few pics now.
so can any one recommend a new rom which is light enough and this problem is expected to be resolved in that rom?.

You did not mention wiping. Did you do a full wipe in every flash? Are you restoring data with Titanium Backup?

I have he Nexus 5 since the past 5 months now! I never faced any battery problem. Now since 3-4 days, i have terrible battery drain. I charge my phone to 100% and sleep and in 8-10hrs sleep, the battery is down to 50% . Android OS and Android system are using 30-35% each. I'm on stock and not rooted. What should I do?
Find out where you wake locks are. Get something like betterbatterystats.

I did! It shows PowerManagerService as the main culprit. wlan_rx_wake and wlan_wd_wake aer also equally responsible. But i dont know what that means. Any suggestions?

It's likely your wifi. Did you recently switch to a different router? Some routers cause excessive wakelocks which in turn cause bad drain. If I leave my wifi on overnight I can sometimes lose 10-15%, if I leave wifi off I generally only lose 1-2% overnight.

Nope! i have been using the same router. Thinking of buying a new one though as this one is 2-3 yrs old!
Anything else I can do? Apart from changing my router?

Try disabling wifi before you hit the sack tonight just to see if that is indeed the cause.

Do you know if your wireless network is using 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz? Selecting one or the other and not using Automatic seems to fix speed issues and might also help with wake locks.
Otherwise you can try setting Locations to Device Only instead of Battery Saver and also disable Wifi always scanning if it's on.
why don't use both?

Hey guys. A couple of minutes ago something strange happened to my phone. I just don't understand what's going on with it. I'm so disappointed. I mean... this phone costed me some money and experiencing such a thing makes me regret so much I bought my Nexus 5. It is indeed the best phone I've ever had but if this is what it takes to have a phone for such a small period of time and already have so many problems with it then... I think it's just a waste of money.
I don't know what's going on with it - It just overheated horribly while scrolling down on Facebook. Never happened this before. I was just scrolling like normal and using FB like normal and all of a sudden my phone becomes so hot - quickly I opened System Monitor and CPU temp was at 60-67ºC.
Also if I go to the Battery Tab in System Monitor the graph is pretty strange in my opinion, I mean the battery´s temperature is going up and down all over again it's like the graph of a heartbeat record or something.
Don't get me wrong, the Nexus 5 is the best phone but if this is really what it takes to own a phone for straight two months.... I mean, really?

Though it sounds like a app causing you problems there l would recommend trying a custom rom and kernel l have always found the stock ROM to run a little warm. But maybe before doing that have a look at trickster in the play store you change many more things to help keep things cooler.
The stock kernels the culprit I'd say. It's set in a narrow freq towards the top end causing it to run hot. Use Elemental X.

Perhaps it's those monitoring apps that you have installed. Just reboot the phone, should be fine.

It was indeed because of these apps. Uninstalling them seems to have solved the issue. Thank you for pointing it out! I guess I was a lil bit scared at first.

Hey guys. I got some battery problems. Although my battery lasted 2 days I'm not happy with it.
I have no idea about deep sleep but I think my phone doesn't. I lost 10%!!! over night in airplane mode.
First of all I'm not using any gapps at all.
Im on cm12.1 15th nightly but earlier versions resulted in the same.
Then I have mobile data disabled 90% of the day, I usually use some wifi over the day. And some Bluetooth when I'm in the car.
I made some screenshots, maybe someone can tell me something about my battery problem. Thanks!
You can try this fix

I've done this today only. Will let you know if it works.

Yeah. But the battery drain is caused by the OTA update checker !
That fix worked for me.
Give it a try if nothing else works.
I was watching a video of tips and tricks for this phone and I saw one tip and now I can not find it in settings. The tip was that you could schedule the phone to auto restart. Just had to pick the day and time and frequency. I have searched all through phone and I just can't find it. I then searched for video I watched and I can't find that now. Anyone offer some assistance please.

Lol thinking too much. You can only restart your phone once a week with the settings.

Actually it defaults to once every 24 hours if you don't schedule it yourself. I bet a few of them think they have an issue because of this.

Maybe on your US-device, but NOT on the international one (SM-G955F)!
When "once in a week" is not set, it won't restart every day!
Can someone tell me the benefit of auto restart? I can do this on my phone but not sure for the benefit.
No need for that. My phone restarts on its own like every other day...
Can someone tell me if the AT&T model supports this feature or did they remove it?

It is in the AT&T model.
A great feature of the settings panel is the lookingglas. You can search for keywords and directs you to the relevant setting or section.
Feature enabled but no restart
I have it set restart ok Mondays at 5am but nothing happens. To test I've set it for 10 minutes in the future and set the phone down. Nothing happens. Factory reset and still nothing. Any idea? Does anyone know the package responsible for this feature?
