BBM messages hugely delayed - Galaxy Note 3 General

Basically on my note 3 whenever my phone goes into idle my BBM messages seem to get severely delayed until I unlock my phone and open up BBM again.. Does anyone have any idea why and what this could be?

Let me guess, it's only when your wifi is on, right? If it's only with activated wifi you can try my solution. Change wifi standby to always and use Llama to turn off mobile data when wifi is connected. This is the only way for me to keep my threema connected when screen is off.

I believe it is only when wifi is connected.. Do you know why this is the case and what is llama?

Llama is a great app, you can find it here http://tinyurl.com/76radmh

Foxfi issues

I have Foxfi installed on my s3, it works great for like 5 mins then it looses connection and I have to re connect. It just continues, are there any settings on the phone that hinder the connectivity after a certain amount of time. Also when it does this I can immediately pick up the phone and hit the chrome browser app and it loads instantly. So I don't think it's the radio or my signal. P.s. have screen timeout set to 15 mins. Thanks and please help , I kinda don't want to root and nit even surer if that would make a difference.

Can someone please give me some ideas

Settings/developers options.... make sure the "do not keep activities" is unchecked.
Otherwise, welcome yourself to the disturbing (and growing) number of data connectivity issues popping up with the s3.
Before I rooted I was using foxfi and it was the same ****. I understand it as the same issue as dropping wifi.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

SMS problems

Does anyone else have problems where their sms messages do not send and calls do not work? This is solved with a reboot so am I right in assuming this is a software issue?

I posted something like this in another thread recently. Where I live I'm on the fringe of a LTE tower and never have more than one bar (and often showing none). Turns out that when LTE network is bad the phone will switch back and forth between LTE and 3g, causing me to receive text messages sometimes more than 20 minutes delayed.
All I have done is switch to 3g preferred in network settings and everything's fine. I also have significantly better standby battery life, as the phone isn't changing back and forth anymore (that and LTE will always use more battery anyway).
Hope that helps/works for you.

This happens as well with custom ROMs, I have to disable LTE using Cataclysm due to this delay.
If you guys are having this problem while WIFI is on, it's a known problem that Google knows about but hasn't fixed yet. You have to set the phone to only use 3G to fix it for now.
i used to have this on my old htc one but not on my nexus 5
Thanks for the reply guys, um im having this problem on 3g and wifi, mostly happens on 3g though as im out and about most days so I hardly ever use wifi

[REQ] App to notify BT Device out of range

I am looking for am application that will notify me when a BT Device goes out of range.
Example:
Phone Note 3 paired with Fitbit One (or any BT deice)
When Fitbit One (or configurable devices) goes out of range a configurable alert occurs (Beep, Vibrate or and listed in the Notification area)
Sounds simple to me helps users not leave their BT devices behind. I'm sure its out there just can't find it.
Use bluetooth notify from playstore.

Click to collapse
Looked good even though it hasn't been update since 2012. However it doesn't seem to work on 4.4.2 as I get no notifications on my BT devices. Any other ones you know of?
@earthgod do you mean when its disconnected from bt device?

You can use Tasker to write your own. Fairly simple.

When should the watch log onto WiFi

I cannot seem to get the search to work and cannot find any threads searching manually.
My watch has started logging into local WiFi every time I wake it up even when it has a Bluetooth connection to my phone.
I was expecting it to only use WiFi when no Bluetooth was available. It seems to have started doing this recently and I seem to remember an update not too long ago.
Anyone else with this issue.
Yes it should as you have described. With my S7 it behaves like this. May be it's your phone losing or power saving Bluetooth signal. Which phone are you using?

I'm on an S6 edge

It should work fine then . The only solution i can think of is to factory reset the watch and try again.

Factory reset rather than a restart

Seems to have worked cheers

Wifi

I've currently got a pebble steel watch which I can use to locate my phone if I lose it, but only if it's within bluetooth range, which it never is when I lose it.
Can the Gear 2 connected to wifi be used to find it's associated phone if it's on the same wifi network?
Thanks
Yes, just tried it out for you by switching off Bluetooth on my phone and then used the Gear S2 Find my phone feature successfully, while the watch was connected remotely, ie via WiFi.

Great, thanks for taking the time to test that
