[Q] Need VNC server app - General Questions and Answers

Does anyone know of a good VNC server app for Android? All the ones I saw at G Play store have a below 4 rating.

[Q] NBA Game Time 2010-2011???

Now that the season has started and I still don't see it in the Android Market. Does anyone know what's going on with this app??
It came out today, up for $45 now.
Wondering if i can wifi the stream to my Evo, then out to TV via Micro HDMI.
@vtwin-racing:
NBA Gametime and NBA LeaguePass are two seperate apps.
On that note, I do have Gametime in my marketplace, one is free and one comes with audio of the game which is $9.99
To watch the games you can pay $49.99 for the LeaguePass.
What I'm curious of is if anyone has a hack for the LeaguePass similar to that of the NFL Mobile app from Verizon.

Could this be Location or Version related? I still can not see NBA Game Time on my Marketplace.
Please advise. Thanks.
I believe the app is only available for android 2+. I have a Xperia x10 with Android 1.6 and it does not show up either. But using appBrain to search, it does show up.
Can someone post the apk for NBA League Pass 2010-2011? or pm it to me?

all video is blackout because the app only works with the ip of the phone, so there needs to be some type of ip hack for the app for it to work.
Any luck on the ip hack??? I know someone out this is trying..Plz post if anyone finds a way I can't wait to get this working

What do you mean IP of phone? (as in Static?) Ill get a different IP when i connect wifi, 3g, and 4g.. I don't know to much about phones, but wouldn't the NBA app linked to IMEI # on the account make more sense?
Either way i hope something is figured out before i spend $45

PS3 Open Remote play with android

I have an HTC Evo, and I noticed today that I can do open remote play with mobile phones. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get this to work with Android. I get to enter in a password, my Evo remembers the password, but when I try and connect, I can't and my Evo states that I have the wrong password. The PS3 gives you the password to enter, so is there a file that may need to be changed? Sorry if this is posted somewhere else, i ran a search and didn't see anything.
Thanks in advance! Love XDA!!

Hi. Where did you download it from. If you let me know, I'll try it out on my Desire Z and report back.
Its actually just on the PS3 under settings. It would be amazing to use our android handsets as remote play devices. The only thing I can see is having to use PSFreedom and creating a homebrew app for the PS3 and an app the corresponds for rooted android devices.

Hi, I've actually tried this months ago and after further investigation came up with the Sony x10 is the only handheld with this capability
Well, I guess I can't live my dream of playing CoD on my evo...*sigh*

Unless a hack of some sort is done, you wouldn't be able to play CoD (or any other disc driven game for that matter) through remote play.
After I registered my PSP for remote play, I actually went onto the net and found out exactly what Remote "Play" is.
I don't know about PSN games or downloaded movies, but it will not allow you to play disc games or disc movies.
It is more of an app that allows streaming music, pictures and certain types of videos to the registered device.

Remote Play can do much more. If you have modded your PS3, you can enable Remote Play for any PS3 game. All it does is stream the video and controls.
To get Remote Play to work on a device other than an officially licensed product (say your iphone, pc). You must pair it FIRST with a PSP device. After the device is paired, you have to extract the information on the pairing from the PSP (also requiring a modded PSP).
And after all that hoopla, you use Remote Play to stream any game (and also xvid i believe)
Unfortunately I don't think there is a solution for android at the moment.
PS3 Eye as remote surveillance device
If remote play worked for android, I would have remote surveillance in my pocket at all times, which is what I am really looking for.
It's Sony, they would never do something so awesome as to allow every Android phone do this.
They want your monies!

[Q] How to play World of Worldcraft via Motorola Zoom Tablet?

I have a motorola zoom tablet. I am using Remote Desktop Client by: Xtralogic, Inc. I have access to my laptop at home while traveling over Verizon's Network. Everything is working fine, except I am unable to play World of Warcraft on the Tablet via remote desktop access. I have researched port information and have setup router via all listed port settings. World of Warcraft attempts to load and then I get error " Running World of Warcraft through a Remote Desktop connection is not supported. Exiting program." Is there a work around?
Thanks!
Have you tried using free vnc for the pc and android free vnc app for the tab? Perhaps WOW wouldn't detect that connection, I haven't tried to play, because I don't have a tablet. Just a thought though.
You can't render 3D applications through an RDP connection with any kind of speed at all. If you could get it to work it would look like a slideshow and be impossible to interact with. You should bring a laptop, or chill out and not raid while you're traveling.
When WoW becomes your job it's time to quit.
Quit his job, or WoW?
BTW, newest versions of RDP do support some 3D acceleration (look for info on RemoteFX). But yeah, don't expect to run any games that way, for multiple reasons. And don't expect to see this on any tablet or phone,as I doubt Microsoft makes the whole API public, so third party clients will always have limited support for RDP features.

Assuming you can get it to play in windowed mode, you should be able to do some things with splashtop. Try the free version first: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.splashtop.remote.free . I can sort of play starcraft 2 with this, and I definitely play ps2 and dreamcast with it, so give it a shot!

Try Splashtop it works for nearly every game that can be run in windowed mode.
We have some setup information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=999133
You will want a wireless keyboard or a bluetooth controller to play with, I don't know if splashtop supports a mouse though.
If I can get my XOOM to play left 4 dead 2. You can probably get yours to play wow.
Well for $1.99 I couldn't resist. Downloaded splashtop, set a few things in my routers configuration and bam... WoW on my Xoom. I highly recommend a bluetooth keyboard and mouse of some sort if you're really dead set on doing this.
One drawback is you have to set your audio to 2 channel if its anything else, or it will simply mute.
I'm upping a youtube video now.

here you go
thanks for all the responses, this was for a coworker, who had to have her crack on the go, with all your suggestions and help she was able to accomplishes this, and now seeing her play wow on the xoom, i'm going to set this up for my gtab and relive yesteryear playing civ and half-life.
Lol.
Well your friend is going to have a less than perfect experience as there is hardly any mouse control at all... and if she just wants to be able to chat there's a much easier way to do it via the remote auction house app.
I'll save the armchair psychiatry for someone else but.... *snort*.
thank you
Thank you both! Of course it would be no where near the quality of PC gaming. Its just one of those itches I had to scratch. thank you again.

Lol, no problem. I tried to run around last night with a keyboard and mouse and found out real quick that splashtop doesn't translate mouseclicks or right clicks very well. Their solution to click and hold is to tap and then hold and drag which caused my POV to spin way out of control and from then out I couldn't see anything so I just logged out lol.
I would prefer the $2.99 a month remote auction house service to this.
I have to admit though it's terribly fun to show off
I'm not a hardcore player and I work too much. However I still find the time to connect my Wii remote and play mario and galaga on the Xoom. Oh yes, its very much fun to show both of them!

Any decent VNC viewers for Kindle Fire?

I tried installing my VNC Viewer's APK file as a sideloaded app but it wouldn't install.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent VNC viewer for the Fire?
I'll answer my own question
Android VNC works but it's clunky and not that usable. But I did find an APK of Real VNC that installs and works just fine: v1.0.2.54668
I actually bought my original version from the Market for $9.99 so please, consider paying for this before downloading it from the net.
Mocha VNC lite is the best I have used so far. However its not as good as it is on my iphone. Sad.
Use teamviewer it's the best by a slingshot.
TeamViewer is the best....
I used aneroid market to download my paid version of RealVNC version. Appears to work fine.

there is a program on the pc called Bluestacks-it;s an emulator that lets you play Android apps on a PC ussing your PC's hardware.
uhm guys... you know that he wants to see his smartphone/tablet screen on his pc screen with (maybe) 30 fps to play games on a bigger screen?!
And Bluestacks is not made for gaming. it is just an emulator. and you need a really good gaming pc if you want to run all apps/games smoothly
