[Kernel][5.1.x][6.0][TF700T][GRIMLOCK KERNEL][April 02 2015] - Asus Transformer TF700

@philow has kindly asked me to work on a kernel to support his new TF700 that's based on KitKat CM11 so here it is.
Jan 12 2016 - MM6.0 released. Please see post #2
April 2 2015 - NEW VERSION 5.1! Ready for Lollipop 5.1!!!!!
Quick list of features:
Overclock up to 1.8GHZ
Voltage control
Custom GPU overclock
Dynamic Fsync Control
Interactive and ROW tweaks
I/O and MMC tweaks for better performance
Auto detects whether you are using data2sd, f2fs or EXT4 - meaning you don't need an f2fs version anymore. At boot time the kernel detects your file system and boots based on what YOU have. Also works with data2sd.
Extra governors and I/O Schedulers
Chanegelog
2015-04-02 - Version 5.1
- Updated the Wifi modules to work with CM12 and Omnirom
2014-10-01 - Version 5.0
- Updated to work with Lollipop.
2014-10-01 - Version 4.0
- Fixed the Bluetooth not turning on issue
- Fixed a few of the dock keys not working (such as disabling the touchpad)
- Added Pegasusq Governor
- Added SIO, VR and BFQ I/O Schedulers
- Made BFQ the default
- Created a separate build based on Linaro 4.8.3 Toolchains
2014-09-12 - Version 3.0
- I don't remember now LOL!
Everything should work fine, but this kernel has only been extensively tested on Omnirom and Zombi-Pop.

mm6.0 kernel
This looks like a good place to slap in a few tidbits about the 6.0 version of the kernel.
This kernel is not thoroughly tested on 6.0 but as far as I know everything works (except for bluetooth but that is the case on all 6.0 roms right now)
One thing to keep in mind.
The framebuffer goodness is turned off for now. Meaning no data2sd at this point. There are some things that mm6.0 is not liking with the framebuffer and it is causing crashes. In my testing data2sd doesn't seem to work well on anything 5.0 and up anyway.
GET IT HERE

I just want to let some of the people here that do not know your work know what you have done over on the TF300T side of the house.
Synopsis:
I had a TF201 (Transformer Prime) and was a tester for Androwook ROM back in the 1.3 - 1.51 version of that ROM
@flumpster brought out 2.31 for the TF201 based on Android 4.2.1 for the TF300T (That was cool)
Since Hairybean required the TF300T Bootloader to work I used that to install a TF300T TWRP Recovery then TF300T CM11
All ran OK but still had the typical Asus lag
I tried @hardslog GRIMLOCK Kernel and it ran a little better but on the TF201 I could not over clock
I asked @hardslog if he could help with that and he graciously did that.
My tablet never (Even on Hairybean) ran better. I did not use any data2SD anything just CM11 Nightly and GRIMLOCK for TF201.
To make a long story a bit longer and get us to here:
I went on a business trip and left my tablet on the shelf above the urinals at the Ronald Reagan (DCA) airport in Washington DC
I decided, since I had all my accessories to replace the TF201 with a TF700 and here I am
I installed CM11 gave me lots of lag and @_that kernel helped some but I had to pull it out of another ROM CROMBi-KK zip (Great ROM)
Since I had such a great experience with GRIMLOCK I asked @hardslog to see if he could make his kernel work for us.
He has been kind enough to that! Thanks!
Make sure you thank him as this should become a goto kernel for those on CM based ROMS!

Thanks @hardslog. Any objections to me including it in the next CROMBi-kk release?

Excellent - I was hoping you would do this for the TF700 as it gets good reviews from the TF300 mob :good:

Does anybody care to have an F2FS version of this kernel?
Any feedback? *crickets chirping*

Alright, it looks like the Jury is out. Please see downloads section to for an F2FS version.
PLEASE NOTE - I cannot test this as I do not have a TF700. I have a TF300t and the same patch works just fine on it. This means I will need confirmation whether or not it works. This F2FS version is for /data on internal storage, not data2sd (yet?)
P.S. - maxrdlf95! It's good to see you are still around! I referenced a lot of your github when I started out on kernels!

Yes that's nice I'm not into kernels for now so I'm using things done by someone else

If it works on the TF300 then it will work on the TF700 Assume you just changed the fstab.cardu from ext4 to f2fs for /data?

*** DON'T FLASH THIS IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH ANY PROBLEM IT MAY CAUSE ***
Goal:
This kernel is not intended to compete in any way with others. This kernel is a hobby that i'm in with the goal to provide two flavors of @rabits dualboot kernel,
one with pure CyanogenMod kernel and other with some tweaks. I'm not expert neither so this maibe dangerous stuff. Pay atention before continue. I'm making this
public because i think this can be usefull for others.
*** Backup your data before continuing! ***
Info:
This is a complementary project that uses @rabits work for TF700T Dualboot.
Here you can only get the Kernel and the installation zip, but you need to get the RooFS from @rabits work,
to get the complete funcionality. The link to the RootFS is provided here too near the below zips.
Changelog:
16/03
Android is the default boot option
CPU-GPU OC & UV, Governors Lagfree, Lulzactive, Pegasuq, IO Schedulers VR and SIO (thanks to Hundsbuah) [PATCH]
17/03
Lots of updates from franciscofranco [PATCH]
Interactive Governor Tweaks (bryce09)
24/03
Some ROW tweaks (thanks to Hundsbuah)
OC Optimizations (thanks to Hundsbuah)
26/03
Update installer(thanks to rabits)
27/03
Added a version without dualboot
Installation:
THIS KERNEL IS FOR AOSP ROMS ONLY
If you already have the dualboot setup you just need to flash the kernel.
If you don't have the dualboot setup yet you need to use the linux installer.

Hi, I have just tried your new kernel with oc and everything worked just fine untill when in Ubuntu I tried to do a restart which resulted in Ubuntu shuting down for the restart and nothing else, so after 2mins I held the start button down for 15 secs when my tablet restarted again.
Thanks for all your hard work.

I'm still figuring out why sometimes ubuntu take a lot to shutdown.
Sometimes it may take 5 minutes. Stays in a black screen for that time.

I did not tested it but it should work with any AOSP rom.
Both of them, one is a clean CM version the other has some tweaks.
I did not understand if you read that this is not simply a kernel. This is a kernel with dualboot, just for you dont get any problem flashing it without understand.

As i said before i did not tested but since it works on CM it is likely to work on PA. Just give it a try and report here its no big deal. Just have a rom to flash if there is a problem. You wont loose recovery, so you can always go back so the old kernel.

Yes! Everything is stable and tested for some day before to be released (it's the aim of Test Builds ) But I have to manipulate directly code in sources in order to apply UV 'cause our device platform doesn't have the voltage controller

Take note for colour profiles but I don't know how complex it can be... I'll be studied, sure.
About LTE RoW (wx_un_do) vs LTE US (wx_na_do) they are totally compatible as @Steel01 and me have seen. I have LTE RoW model and actually use wx_na_do compilation. In the future, perhaps, we will create a specific branch.

I will be away a few days so a lot of sleep time for the tablet Will report
Here's some cpu state time info for u. 51mhz is deep sleep right?
With CPU Spy you get how long the device is in deep sleep: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011497
Cpu spy capture for u. I've been running it like I stole it all day.
I don't have installed CPU Spy but BBS reports that it sleeps like a baby.
Got a spare apk for bbs by chance?

Just wanted to let u know the mic issue was a gapps thing, the minimal edition has problems, went back to pagapps (the final 03/15 one) and if I flash this kernel on steels cm12 it works perfect. No sound fc either. The ONLY issue I found is moving to SD. Still says no room even after the folder mount patch. Battery is great btw, thanks much for the work

maybe adding more governors? like yankactive?
Bro, can you make it compatible with euphoria ROM, because it bootloops. I think this happens because is only compatible with cm12 ROMs. Thanks, bro!

That's not true. I tried this kernel on other cm and aosp ROMs and it booted fine.
Do other kernels flash fine on euphoria? Oh and BTW euphoria is based on cm
Only for AOSP?
STOCK can use it?
thank you.

Oh, sorry, I thought 'cause other guy and I tried to flash with broken os and had bootloop too. Yeah, other kernels work fine; hurtsky, optimus, there's another one on original android dev that I don't remember the name that works too. You can see for yourself that with euphoria gives bootloop. Oh, really? I thought it was aosp based. And yeah, and I know even cm is based on aosp... Bro, why is it that doesn't work with euphoria then? :|
@Niropa great to see you kicking this!

I installed it on Xperience and Resurection Remix, and no luck, bootloop and encryption screen... maybe there is some problem with the rom or a missing file on the kernel or rom, I don't know =/. I'll install another rom to try this kernel *-*
@Niropa everyone was waiting for this :good: excellent work!
Add smartmax gov?

[Kernel][Nougat]Qualia Kernel for Surnia ver 1.0.7 Stable / 1.0.8 Beta - 02/01

Hello all, this is your friendly neighborhood bored basement dweller, i wasn't going to even make this thread since I'm a super noob, but i figured why not since some people might want a stock kernel with like sound control for instance.
This will be my first kernel I every made and posted here so i present to you Qualia Kernel.
Now, you may be asking yourself? Who the heck is this guy?
Well, I'm a fan for customization, but keeping close to "stock" as possible, so for all intent and purposes, this kernel won't add too much to have a huge feature list for the sake of having one.
Notable features in Lite:
-- based off @vnai kernel sources (big thanks)
-- built with UberTC latest prebuilt.
-- MSM Sleeper
- -WESTWOOD TCP CONG is default
- -Dynamic Fsync
-- KCAL V2,
-- If using AOSP ROM you an still use apps like CF Lumen if here is no live display.
-- USB Fast Charge
-- Sound control
-- Patches from other kernels for smoothness ( @franco @squid @flar2 @alberto)
02/01/2017
-- Added permissive mode
-- check the changelog via commits nothing major changed from last beta
-- Changing philosophy as follows:
> Now there will be two versions Qualia lite and Qualia full:
>> full will contain all compatible hotplugs and features with variety of choices.
>> lite will contain minimum "best" features with limited choices.
I>>>all previous changelogs on github
The beta will contain all the requests from the thread from a few days ago, so if you wanted intelliplug and all that wait a few more hours.
Tested on:
Lineage OS, RRemix and AOSCP. Should work with others I don't see why not, but again back up back up!

A big shout out @animania260 for even making my consider making my own kernel. Hopefully, i don't forget others who

Great Work, Going to try it at night
I'm using this kernel also on AOKP-mm-6.0.1 and seems to work well, but we see in the coming days how it behaves. Thanks for your work :good:
Edit: lacks the USB fast charge, please you can insert this?
Its work perfectly fine & smooth on aoscp 3.5.1 08/01/2017 build

Surely it would be great to have USB fast charge in the kernel

Okay let me see what i can do.
Very nice! You figured it out. I'm glad you didn't wait for me, I've been way to busy. The kernel seems great so far. A benchmark score with the default settings was excellent. We'll see how actual use goes.

Flashed, Thanks For such an amazing kernel
& Will use it as my daily driver kernel
@mykenyc
I just flashed the latest build of ur kernel and found out that Fiops isn't enabled by default I had to switch to it. Also do I enable it for both internal and external storage?
Thanks for this kernel. Also I wanted to know if F-Sync is enabled as I read somewhere it isn't recommended.

Yes I will check for FIOPS and for dynamic sync I will use disabled as default.
[edit] post updated.

Ok I got my facts wrong. It turns out it's bad to disable F-Sync not enable it.
Sorry for inconvenience. It turns out if u disable F-Sync the storage speed will be faster but there might be chances of data loss.
Again I'm sorry

It's okay, the feature itself is experimental from what I read, so when i initial enabled it i didn't have settings to change the default from yes, now I do, i updated the kernel. To dismiss confusion it i will be 1.0.2.
Awesome work
@mykenyc
