Hello all
Wondering if it's possible to reprocess the "Select the Artists/Genres you like" when you first start Google Play Music.
I have two GMail addresses (one work, one personal), and accidentally signed up on my work address. Now, I articulately went through the process on the work account, and it gave me awesome playlists and what not for the "I'm Feeling Lucky" radio. I then downloaded the program onto my phone, skipped the process thinking it would just sync with what I had just done, however only then did I realize that my personal account now has no configuration and an All-Access subscription, and my work account has a near perfect configuration and no All-Access subscription.
I have tried:
Signing Out / Back In
Clear Data/Cache
Uninstall / Reinstall
Check for Google Connected Apps data, and clear (there wasn't one for Music)
I am rooted, on KitKat 4.4.2 (757) and have a Sony Xperia Z1 C6906.
Thanks all

I've recently upgraded from Tiamat 1.4.4 to Moray and in the process lost sync to Google Music and also for some reason now I have no settings option when I click the menu in the top right corner on Google Music, I also don't have Sync Music listed under my gmail account settings in the Accounts and Sync setting under Tools. I've tried a number of ways to rectify this, with no success:
Cleared the data in Google Music and rebooted the Xoom.
Gone into my Accounts and Sync tool settings and deleted my gmail details and re-added them.
Downloaded a new version of the music2.apk and then tried to delete the old version of it using root explorer from the system/app folder. It did this but then for some weird reason Google Music was still functioning on my Xoom and it wouldn't let me install the newer version of the apk and always gives an 'Application not installed' error message.
Have accessed Google Music from a browser and have deauthorized the Verizon Motorola Xoom listed there in the vein hope that it would somehow initialize reauthorization again.
Things to note is that I am based in the UK and have a UK MZ604 model which since rooting has become a US Xoom model.
Any help really appreciated as I've drawn a blank here! Though I believe I have to somehow uninstall the music2.apk and reinstall it to start off the authorization process but unfortunately I just don't know how to do this!

Did you perform a wipe data/factory reset in recovery before flashing the rom? I would wipe and relfash befote trying to replace any other apps.
I did do it originally but I guess I may have to do it again unless I can work out how to uninstall the music2.apk
I'm on EOS Nightly 78, not sure if it's the rom or not. Purchased several albums from market and have all the google items to sync, it's been 18 hours and they still haven't synced. The albums show up on my PC but not the Xoom. Also there's no options in Accounts and sync to have Google Music sync. When installing the rom I did the full wipe and installed the rom and gapps and then rebooted. Thanks in advance.
Hello,
My girlfriend's Desire S got the upgrade to Google Play market but it doesn't work anymore. I also tried to remove the upgrade but the issue is still present.
This is strange because I have the Desire S too, with the same ROM and configuration, but I didn't have such problem with the market that has been flawlessly upgraded.
The problem is that when I launch Google Play, or the Market 3.4.4 after the downgrade, it asks for a new Gmail account.
Something like: "To continue you have to add an account to the device. Add one now?" (Yes or No).
Of course if I say No, the Market quits.
If I answer Yes, it prompts for a new Google Account setup (note that the google account is already set up). Then I tap on Access (I already have an account and I don't want to create a new one) and once I try to login with my account it says that the account is already present on the device.
At this point I don't know what to do.
Already tried to reboot the phone and to clear data into Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->Market. But still no success.
What to do?
I've also cleaned the dalvik cache but nothing.
EDIT: Sorry, but I found out that my girlfriend made a wrong PDroid configuration, disabling all permissions to the Marked. I reinstalled the 3.4.7 Google Play version and now all works good.
I hope this could help someone else.

Rooted & TWRP Recovery using the CASUAL java tool
*novice* android user...this is my first android device
So I just picked up the phone last Friday the 12th at an AT&T store. At the store they walked me thru an initial setup and because I could remember the password, I used an older gmail account that is more of a throw away account and not the one I would prefer to use as the primary Google Play account.
I did some other searching and as recommended I have done a factory reset and then a cache wipe (this was prior to rooting and TWRP fwiw) and then when going thru the setup again used the preferred gmail account.
All this is fine with one exception. That is that the "My Apps" lists on the phone vs. via the web do not match specifically in regard to the preinstalled/stock apps (like BlurbCheckout, AT&T FamilyMap, down to TripAdvisor). When I enter the Play Store app on the phone and go thru Menu > My Apps, all these apps show up in the Installed & All lists. However, when I log in to gmail and then go to Play and look at My Apps, these apps are not listed. Only the 2 or 3 free apps that I've downloaded so far show up.
I've been in and out of the Google Play store both on the phone and web. I've rebooted a couple times. FWIW, it did take about 3 hrs for the apps to be listed in the Play Store on the phone but it has been over 24hrs and they still do not show up when logged in to the web. I've done more than one sync.
Some of them have updates available, so I can presumably get some of them to show up that way but not all have updates available at the moment.
Any suggestions on what to try to get the preinstalled/stock apps to show up in both places?
Or is my next step contacting Google Play support?
hi
it has been a while now, my Google Account is screwing up the sync to my Samsung Sgs2 every 2 weeks or so, I used to remove and put back the Google account and that fixed it. now that doesn't work anymore.
unless I click on "sync" is not doing anything so basically not "pushing" emails anymore....
is there something that could fix it? ive reinstalled gmail, etc etc. nothing helped... I am assuming I should reinstall the OS?
many thanks
gabrio
Hi,
Before reinstalling the OS itself, and even if clearing google framework data is not really recommended, you can apply this workaround:
Workaround:
I force-stopped, cleared data on "Google Services Framework", Gmail app, and Play Store. Rebooted the device. Open Play Store, Agree to the terms. Open Gmail, let it do its "first time setup" (takes about 2 minutes).

as usual, XDA delivers, I have done the steps you mentioned and my Sync is up and running again. Let's see if it holds from now on.
Thanks so much
hi
something bad must have happened last night / this morning. I had again the sync problem, gmail not download any email or sending anything out from my mobile.
I did again
Workaround:
I force-stopped, cleared data on "Google Services Framework", Gmail app, and Play Store. Rebooted the device. Open Play Store, Agree to the terms. Open Gmail, let it do its "first time setup" (takes about 2 minutes).
But this time when you open Google Play it's saying "check your connection and try again", grey screen, nothing happening, I tried empty cache as well. I can swipe from the left side and I see my email there with "redeem, settings and help & feedback" but nothing loads. I updated manually to very latest GPS apk.
opened Gmail and it's still syncing, nothing happens.
any ideas? seriously upset that they keep changing things!
thanks
after some fiddling around, I have removed gmail, reinstalled (I like an old version), nada, so then I went and removed the Google Account as I thought, well why not? that did the trick, Gmail started working again and after a bit of clicks I got the Google Play working again. Now calendar sync is screwing up a bit lol.....never working at once!
Earlier I did try to delete the hosts file in ETC as someone suggested but that didn't help.
thought to add my 2 cents.

I just set my Mother-in-law up with a new Nexus 5 updated to Lollipop. She had an existing gmail account that we used to sign in at the phone setup. However, when opening the Play Store, I notice that none of the preinstalled apps (Gmail, Calendar, etc) show up in My Apps. However, searching for these apps in the Play Store show they're installed and give the option to Update them. Do I really need to do this one by one for each app for an account that has never used Android? After updating an app, then it shows up in my apps, but it seems like a giant waste of time to have to sync them with my account.
That really doesn't seem right.. I'd try a simple factory reset first and see if it works then.
Actually confirmed this with another account too (never had signed into Android before). Guess maybe the easier thing to do might be do it through the web link to Play store.
