Cwm recovery password protected - Security Discussion

When we will have the option to protect with the password a CWM recovery.and have the options in ROM MANAGER to remote activate the passcode in the CWM Recovery.this is for 100% SECURITY ON ANDROID.using app like DROID AIR App to REMOTE access our phone &
using ROM MANAGER to activate the password,so if the phone GOT STOLEN,then the phone wont be able to flash another rom or messing with the recovery.

This has already been discussed. I don't think it will happen.
Because we can't lock the bootloader with a password.
Which means that anyone could bypass the recovery password with fastboot erase recovery
then flashing their own recovery.

Recovery Bootloader

The phone will not restart in recovery mode or bootloader and then OTA updates are not installed and you can even manually, it works Droid2Bootstrapper screen and get Superuser permissions, but continues to restart in normal mode and stay with version CyanogenMod 10-20121009.
Does anybody know how to fix it, until a couple of weeks ago it was all working
If you are running CM you should NOT use Droid 2 Bootstrap recovery. Custom ROMs come with built-in recovery. Usually reachable by pressing Lock/Power and choosing Reboot → Recovery.
where did you find CM10 for D2G?
why are you trying to install ota updates?
don't use bootstrap with a custom rom

Thanks I knew of the function by power button, but just because it no longer worked I reinstalled wrong Droid2Bootstrap which I then removed. The problem is that the phone is frozen as of that version of Rom does not work and I can not see how to reinstall a new version Bootloader, sorry if broken English but I'm using google translator
Pull battery, put battery back in, press and hold up button, connect usb to pc
If it boots to bootloader, flash .sbf
Read http://droid.koumakan.jp/wiki/Welcome
If it does not, go to bootloader, phone is not fixable

Thank you all for the answers, obviously I had activated some options via Bootloader, I solved it by File Manager opening the folders System - Bootmenu - Config and changing File "default_bootmode.conf " from "2nd-init" in "1nd-init"

[Q] android system recovery 3e is missing, after unrooting and factory delete

after i rooted and tried different custom rom for my model qmobile A10, and later i unrooted from same app which is through pc.
before rooting i had android system recovery 3e as in my recovery mode when i click power button + vol up and down .
but when i rooted my phone it was replace by cwm based recoverey v6.0.1.2, as then i used other custom rom.
i first install someone else stock rom of same model as for some reason before rooting it saved my rom + apps as in userdata_20131227_090252.backup and i could not recovery it while being in rooted as it wanted only .zip.
and with this file .backup nothing else was made by my mobile.
now when i unrooted using the same dos software Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v17 .reboot and then did factory delete from setting, it seems that my android system recovery 3e has gone missing, as when i click on recovery mode it just refresh my phone as new but not going to setting anymore. it just show android and centre cube moving n restart my phone as start as new.
how can i get it back so maybe that way i can access my .backup file which is 739mb size
do i need to flash it if yes how. As i want it to be as when i bought it.
update:
when i check with root checker , some say terminal rooted and some rooted but missing bootloader, and super su.
Can someone please help me as i can only go to recovery mode through cwm based as my mobile is stll half rooted. how to totally unroot it as the software i think did not completly unrooted.

Tablet Factory Reset Without Volume Keys

Hello, I have an android tablet. It has a password on it which doesn't allow me to access data from an sd card, open any files on it, etc, it basically limits what I can do. There is a password blocking the storage settings, and so I want to reset it to factory settings to get rid of this. The problem is that the tablet does not have any volume keys to scroll up or down in order to select the correct option in order to restore it.
Here is my question, is there any way to get around this and restore it somehow? Possibly a program or something that would automatically start the restore once plugged in etc? Or if it would be possible to make an sd card in which the tablet could just boot straight from that?
Thanks in advance!
Flash any touch Custom recovery like twrp or philz meant for your device. These recoveries have touch interface. Download flashify app from play store that will take you to recovery directly without touching any hardware button.

Thanks for the response. Do you know if the tablet needs to be rooted for that to work? Because mine currently is not.
If you have a PC then you can use different flash tools like spflash tool or ADM and your device need not to be rooted for using these tools but if you don't have a PC then you need to root your phone and then use flashify tool.
If you have a mediatek device then use mtkdroid tools for PC.

STOCK Root S7 edge SM935F Oreo 8.0

This might or not be universally applicable. As always performed completly on your own risk and liability! YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE IF DONE INCORRECTLY:
1. Download latest odin and put it in its own map (if neccessary install samsung usb drivers)
2. Download Samsung anti-root kit removal, dm no verity removal zip, and your specific twrp image from the official teamwin site
3. Connect your phone to the computer with the usb cable and make sure you can browse its folders and tell it to always trust this computer
4. Turn on developer options, usb debugging mode and OEM Unlock. Put the files in your SD card(antiroot kit, dm no verity)
5. Shut the phone down while connected, press the left side volume down the home button and the power button until you get to the download warning screen, enter download mode
6. When in download mode the odin utility when started up with admin priviliges should show a random port. Under AP select the twrp image specific for ur device. Under options tick off the REBOOT option (it shouldnt reboot on its own or it wont work for some reason) flash the recovery
7. Hold down the left side volume up, home button and power button until the phone switches off, release and press those buttons again till u see the first sign of life of waking up, then release and press again till you see the teamwin screen (method always makes you end up in recovery when timed right)
8. Slide to allow modifications, install anti root kit and dm no verity
9. FORMAT DATA (YOU MIGHT LOSE ALL DATA) it will ask to install supersu allow it
10. Reboot into recovery and install those zips again (dm no verity, samsung anti root kit, supersu)
Note: You will not be able to mount data in recovery after the reboot of the format but your phone will be rooted with all native apps and stock functionality present!

Any idea whether this would work for G935V on Verizon? What about flashing a ROM through Flashfire to 8.0 with root? Say...flash 935F or 935T firmware with the rest being Verizon stuff?

This is for SM-G935F Exynos 8890 version
Might be applicable for other versions if you can meet all the set requirements above but it is not tested
It seems to go around the data mount limitation failure after the direct moment after format data. You need an image among other requirements of a teamwin recovery for your specific model for example. This limits the method somewhat, bootloader/oem unlocked usb debugging/trusted
Just am putting this out there bcs i searched a long time on xda and other forums and didnt found any success storys with the original stock rom for the s7 edge with Android 8.0 oreo on it
Be carefull and only try this if you know what your doing and as always on your own risk of bricking the device

As to my knowledge locked bootloaders with qualcomm cpus are still a no go at the moment, every thread mentioning them tells people to sell their device and buy one containing the other cpu instead

Correct but your data mount will no longer be accessible after the format following subsequential reboot for i 'presume' it auto encrypts itself again making internal storage inaccesible trough recovery unless you format without reboot again
Kinda is like having the recovery teamwin benefit without too many of the security induced holes present

You'll be able to backup everything once your device is fully started up and have root access in Android itself.
Just in recovery after format 'after' the reboot recovery will not be able to read out any information from the data partition, wont be able to mount.
In other situations with other ROMS your system and internal data would be vulnerable for easy data breaches for if you lost that device someone who knows how to access teamwin recovery would be able to read out information trough recovery. That is not an issue using this method thus giving alot of security whilest still having a rooted phone with native rom and stock apps beeing present.
To answer your question having root access you can use any method available to backup the full image of the phone partitions as long as the device is turned on and unlocked/trusted/usb debugging on/oem unlocked altough this hasn't been tested yet on this device. The reason for this is i love to upgrade security patches from time to time and this requires me to go back to stock recovery. I use a combination of cloud samsung/google/onedrive backups to restore everything quite easily and considerably handsfree if a full install is needed

Okay but how do I make full backup of the phone if DATA is locked? And how do I flash Magisk module if DATA is locked?
To me it's not a "better" security, it's just major functionality that I use for ages that are broken by a bug...
Because of this I have to stay in Android 7.0 to keep all the functionalities I need.
With root enabled you can backup any partition while your phone is awake. But indeed twrp cant mount data after the reboot of the initial wipe. Magisk is confirmed working by the way:
Flashed the zip after format data and reboot right into recovery
Then start up the phone let it prepare apps and go into setup wizard but dont do anything
Shut down the phone and boot into recovery
Flash the magisk zip again, data mount fail doesnt matter at this point
Reboot into the system setup wizard and setup your phone with magisk root enabled
Yeah I know this (but thx anyway), problem will be when I will need to flash .zip in recovery (like youtube vanced) , it won't be possible and youtube vanced is one of the reason my phone is rooted.
Does Samsung Pay work after rooting this way? Not having Samsung Pay has been a deal-breaker for me.

It was working, when I rebooted after installing magisk
I have installed Magisk although i got an error because data not mountable. So no need to wipe data if you use Magisk to root.
Also "Samsung anti-root kit removal" is not required!

Help! OEM Lock turned back on and device can't boot S7

I was using my Galaxy S7 (G930W8) to profile an app I was working on a couple of days ago and my Developer Options menu disappeared somehow, I enabled it again and went and enabled USB debugging but I failed to notice that the OEM Unlock setting had reset itself (How is this even possible to do on a custom rom?!)
Now my phone was rebooted and it can't boot due to TRP lock (Was running TWRP and custom rom)
I managed to flash the stock recovery via ODIN and I am able to boot into it, but now I'm not sure what to do.
How can I backup my data from this device? I have some photos that aren't backed up to the cloud, my signal message history, and most important MY GOOGLE AUTHENTICATOR DATA! I know it was stupid to not back most of this up and I won't make that mistake again.
Can I somehow flash the stock rom and boot it without wiping data? Is there some magic recovery software that will work in this case? I can't seem to connect with ADB while in recovery mode (unless I choose sideload but then it only shows up as a sideload device to ADB). I also tried fastboot boot twrp.img but fastboot isn't detecting my device while it's in download mode.
I don't know how to attach a bounty to this but I will pay for a solution that allows me to save my data.
Paid app that works fine.
I am desperate, some of the photos and videos relate to a car accident I was in so I really need them, the rest are my kid and dogs and I can't make those memories come back.
I'm also open to spiderboard solutions to get my data back, if that's the only viable solution will do it..
you cant boot into twrp ?

what recovery is it? maybe there is a solution
I can't boot into TWRP because of the FRP custom binary lock, I can flash a recovery through ODIN but my understanding is only stock recovery will actually load due to the OEM lock but if I'm wrong please tell me.
It's currently on the stock samsung recovery.
