I'm using now CM10.1 rom from cyanogen, is there any solutions?

Hi
I have AOKP 4.2.1 ROM.
My battery life isnt really good, about 2 hours of screen on.
Ive tried to use Sultan kernel and underclocked to 1.188 GHZ.
Still not so great battery life.
Can you reccomend of a Jelly bean rom OR Kernel with good battery life?
TNX in advance

Is your rom 4.1.2? Or 4.2.1?
If you are using a certaon 4.2.1 rom thats prolly why seeing how it is somewhat unstable.....however frankenstines 4.1.2 AOKP will be a lot more stable

Remove the GPU overclock and enable mpdecision. You can also use the Badass governor.

My wife's phone is100% stock and still has small bugs, freezes, and other issues.. So a 100% stable jellybean is a myth.. Carbon tests faster than Gamerz, but isn't as smooth.. I am using Thinkingbridge and am nearly as fast as Carbon, but haven't had any bugs (yet).. The latest Devil kernel is fast and stable at stock speeds, but I find over volting it when over clocked is better than stock voltages (on my phone).. At stock voltage when over clocked I have had random reboots, but not when over volted... Marmite is also fast, but I haven't found a stable over clocking method for it.. Both deliver good battery life and performance on any compatible rom...

@Setting.Out so u recommend carbon and devil kernel? And about random reboots yes i got that alot on slim rom but gamerz rom not much so u know how to avoid that?

Don't use your Nexus S as if it's a Galaxy Nexus. It's a 2010 phone.

Each ROM is different and reboots are caused by tons of possibilities either kernel or ROM, and overclocking and using tweaks/mods only increase these possibilities...
I've tried Carbon but have had a couple bugs in previous builds.. I'm testing the latest Carbon and it feels nice and no issues thus far
Thinkingbridge is fast and stable and I had no bugs or other issues..
And yes, Devil is my favorite kernel..
Also if you use devil tools or similar app, you can overclock the devil kernel to a fairly stable 1512mhz (live oc 108%). Not recommended for long periods of use!

i mean what is better than gamerz rom and fast and stable FOR LONGGG USE like till key lime pie is out whats the most stable and fast rom and what kernel to use with is
try jellyshot with marmite. i have tried every rom and for me is the fastest and most stable rom
Jellyshot + marmite 7.3 is 100% stable but does not have many mods, carbon + marmite is very fast and has a lot of mods
I was just using the old 4.1.2 Hellybean with a current Devil kernel and the experience was very nice, stable and smooth.. the battery life was also quite good, averaging around 20 hrs with 5 hrs screen time!!

bottom of the page.. Enjoy
I tried countless ROMs, Kernels, Tweaks and Mods, and i have to say that im most satisfied with ThinkingBridge (SB4) and Devil Kernel (3.0.71) plus Final Script (3.1) from "The War Against Obscurity" thread posted by Setting.Out. Its clearly subjective; many people, many opinions. But you surely have to give it a shot!
Hey guys,
I've got a problem. I'm addicted to flashing new roms and there is one thing that sucks so much.
RANDOM REBOOTS
Roms are running perfect with Marmite kernel, like Nexus S in ice or jelly or fire. but random reboots make me mad!
So I tested out:Jelly Shot 4.7 with Marmite Bigmem 8.6
Rasbean Jelly 6/9/13 with ""
SlimBean RC6 with ""
unofficial AOKP with ""
Parandroid with ""
How I flashed for all roms: I'm using TWRP 2.5.0.0
FULL Wipe expect SD Card
Flashing Rom Wiper Script (for 100% secureness)
Flash Rom Zip -> Gapps -> Marmite -> Reboot -> Happy for one day -> next day random reboots.
ALL THESE ROMS HAD RANDOM REBOOTS with Marmite.
No overclocking or changes with Kernel.
Its the perfect kernel but why there are these reboots?
When I use stock kernel of these roms, they arent that fast but really stable and no random reboots.
Please tell me why...

Well Marmite is on of the best kernels for nexus s so it's never happened t me, but the problem could be that you flashed cm version in Aosp rom and nrmal version in CM based rom....but Marmite is the best

On some rom's I tested both. But same result. What is your ROM/Kernel setup?

You do realize that Marmite is the stock kernel on JellyShot, and other ROMs.. And all phones are not equal, so what works for some may cause you issues..

I never overclock and the minimum frequency is 100mhz, the cpu govener is ondemand or smartass v2, and the kernel scedueler cfq or dedline, thats about it, maibe it's something to do with your phone in particular, mine is perfect with Marmite
Maybe you have a low memory problem. Do any of your apps hog your memory? or do you have too many memory intensive background programs. Maybe it's just one corrupt app

No my biggest apps are Nova Launcher, G+, Falcon Pro & WhatsApp. Sometimes it reboots when its just lying there for no reason. Really magical!

Do you overclock? Another reason this might happen is when an app you restore via titanium backup (installed fresh from another rom) messed up. If your still get reboots, try to start fresh, then just restore your messages and other important data. Avoid restoring system and 3rd party apps.

No I dont overclock, I dont restore things to. Only WhatsApp and Nove Launcher. My rom flashs are all time clean. :/
Same here mate, I've flashed all those ROMs, and they are plagued by random reboots ( at least on my phone).
Flashed last week THINKINGBRIDGE and no reboots so far, ROM is also twice faster than roms (4.2.2) I've tried so far.
Maybe after flashing the kernel , fix permissions ?

Maybe CM10 or CM9 with pandora or jarvis kernel but i tried them a lot of times and cant boot. Battery use will always be high i think, cause its CM10.1 and it is oc-ed.
P.S i think maybe ill try some sense (3.5 maybe) cause it boots very fast, no lags and better battery life.
for example
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344110 i find this. this will be good?
Help me with rom and kernel i have to use?
help?

hit thanks if it helped

very funny
Under clocking CM 10.1 will reduce performance. Its android 4.2, need more memory and cpu
@michal16
so u want OC? try OCed kernel, but remember to carefully follow cute_prince pll2 method
and about lag,it depends not only on cpu,but also sd-card u use,(class 4,6,10)...
remember to calibrate your battery after installing new rom
Hello again:

do u want a kernel which supports initi.d for creating ext partition ???
Try Agni Kernel. :good:
try next kernel, oh and flash samsung-proprietary after flashing next kernel, it helps fix the mic issue
next kernel feels faster to me, though battery life isn't the best but if you want performance try next kernel, but if you prefer performance with better battery life you could try agni kernel
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda-developers app that crashes for no good reason
Performance is not bad either in Agni kernel,,, i tried it in cm based as well as touchwiz roms; it was very smooth.FYI,it even supports under clocking which will save a considerable amount of battery, ,, you will not see even 1% battery drain for the whole night.
