Few issues with Gear 2. - Samsung Gear 2

I have been using the Gear 2 for a week now. I am seeing few issues. I am wondering if anyone else is seeing it?
- Occasionally, the clock face got flip back to default (The first clock option) after been using other custom faces. It is annoying after few times.
- The sleep function. One of the reason I got the Gear 2 is to monitor my sleep. Three nights out of week since I have it. The sleep function just stopped randomly at the middle of the night. With that said, I don't have proper data as I would hope.
I am just wondering if anyone has seen the issue?

I'm waiting to see what others think of this, but I have heard of similar issues before. My friend has the Gear 2 and has issues with the sleep function.

After starting the sleep function just press the home button so that you are no longer on the sleep app that fixed all my problems with stopping through the night. :cyclops:

Actually, I have been doing that for the last many nights. So far, I have notseen the issue. Thanks.
The clock face reset is still happening. Not often, but it happened.

WidgetLocker = End to SOD

I understand that there are a couple of topics opened for this but I wanted to have a new one with the title showing that a solution has been found as I want to help other who are experiencing the problem.
I'm not sure if this would resolve the issue for you but it did for me so please don't blame me if it didn't work for you, I say this because the solution requires an install of a paid app.
So I've had my transformer for 2 weeks and the SOD has been happening since day 1, it would happen every time I left my transformer asleep for more than 2-10 minutes (WIFI on or off). I've tried everything but could not resolve the issue. The only time the SOD didn't happen is when I had it plugged into the charger.
Solution: WidgetLocker, it's an SOD killer
All I did was install it and left everything as is, I also made sure that the stock lock screen is disabled.
I dont think it's widget locker that fixed the problem its disabling the stock lock screen. I had the sleep issue the first few days I had the xformer but after disblong the lock screen it went away.

I had SOD issues when I had Juice Defender installed. I knew it was causing the problem because it started happening right after it was installed. Haven't had one SOD occurrence since I removed it.
I had te stock lock screen disabled for days but the problem never went away until I installed widgetlocker.
I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I think you'll find the SOD will reappear when you least expect it. Mine didn't do it for well over a week after I fiddled with all the suggestions offered on this forum, and now it's just as random as ever. I hope 3.1 fixes this, but it sounds a lot like a Transformer issue rather than a HC issue, since you don't hear the Xoom or Iconia owners complaining about the same thing.
Anyone else tried this?
Thanks
the SoD is probably caused by the big frequency/voltage jump when you wake the system up. This is probably what's freezing the system. Someone with a rooted transformer that's having the issues should get the netformer kernel and sit minimum frequency to something higher (400~600 MHz) and see if they still get the problem.
FYI: We had the same problem with the HTC hero when some hero's would lock up when asleep when you set the minimum frequency too low which meant they made a big frequency jump when the screen got turned on.
I've got the acer and this happens all the time with it. I notice it also will randomly turn the screen on just sitting there. Wonder if it's just a 3.0 issue and not something just the asus has.

I don't think we've had the screen waking up issue.
It's been over 24 hours and not a single SOD since installing WL. I used to get it SOD every time I left my ASUS unused for few minutes.
If I use dock I never have that problem only without dock.
Glad to hear the wake issue isn't happening here. It's really annoying. Just had my acer not wake up again though. Happens at least once a day.

Sorry bit I've only just found this thread. I too am suffering with the SOD after 5-10 mins of standby. But I also have the random "waking up" when in standby -sometimes after a couple of seconds, sometimes after a couple of minutes. Seems you can't rely on it doing what it is supposed to do i.e. sleep until woken !

3.1 update fixed this for me and no Widgetlocker is needed.

[Q] Can't double tap to wake up my new watch. How do you live with this?

Hello all,
Just got the SmartWatch 1 for a good price. I'm enjoying the notifications and call screening a lot.
But I can't wake the watch.
Double tapping does not work.
Having the phone on all the time while it's moving will drain the battery in 3 seconds flat.
The one where you are supposed to move the watch horizontally and the display will turn on is a joke. It simply doesn't do a thing.
A friend got his too and we have the same issues.
Other than turning it on with the power button, is there a ay to "fix" the double tapping thing?
Any help will be appreciated!
Mine does the same thing intermittently. No rhyme or reason to it. Mine was a door prize at XDA Devcon

It's strange. Yep, it'll sometimes wake up and most of the time it won't. But I have better luck tapping the strap, as someone suggested. So. Weird!
Still. This looks to me like one of the greatest stupid things ever. I mean, it doesn't do much - but in a single day, I now wonder why nobody invented it before. It rocks!
This thing is an error.
Double tap to wake function only works if the watch goes to sleep when its on the default clock screen.

I have used the power button double tap to wake up the watch and it still displays the last app that was showing.
I've done this with a few apps now.

black screen after charging 100%, happened twice

my note 3 is a few weeks old but twice something weird has happened and always happens when i wake up in the morning.
the first one happened last wednesday and the second one was today. Screen goes black with only the notifications showing on the top. The lock screen comes up one time then goes back to black. Solved the problem twice with pulling the battery. I am not rooted and I am using next launcher and sometimes i use a case when charging. This is my only concern so far as i use my phone as an alarm clock to wake me up. Anyone know what is causing this?
Seems like your phone is going into deep sleep and not waking properly, a handful of people have mentioned this issue in the last few days with battery pulling being the only way to fix, maybe just go get the phone swapped out just in case.

im thinking of waiting for a few more days or a week and see if it happens again. After pulling the battery it seems to be okay. i noticed this happened when is started using next launcher.

Pixel randomly locks while in use, even in safe mode.

A few weeks after I got my Pixel I started experiencing random screen locks while I'm holding and using the phone.
I have it set to Auto lock after 1 minute of activity but this can happen sometimes immediately after unlocking with the finger print scanner. Ive only noticed it happening while on my hour train commute but that could just be because that's where I'm using it the most consistently.
I talked to Google support via chat and they suggested booting into safe mode to see if it's a third party app causing the issue. Ive currently been using safe mode for an hour and it has happened but only once when it first rebooted.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've contacted Google support again and will update if they find anything.
Thanks
I have experienced this several times. I can't pinpoint what's causing it. I'm just glad someone else is seeing this happen as well. Hopefully someone gets to the bottom of it.
I use an app "Always On" which has a "timeout" feature.
The app uses AMOLED ambient display to put a clock and notifications on the screen.
I use it when going to bed or at night. The timeout feature uses Device Administrator access and causes the screen to go fully off after a while. Sometimes the app causes the Devices Administrator requires password "error," definitely.
I will test more and report, but earlier in week I noticed screen go off as you describe, as I've noticed now and again too, and I realized it was maybe exactly 3 hours since I freshly set a 3 hr timeout in Always On. At that point I was using my phone when the device locked.
Hmm.

Maybe a magnet causing interference? http://www.androidheadlines.com/2016/11/the-google-pixel-and-pixel-xls-screens-react-to-magnets.html

OMG you just blew my mind. This is definitely what it is. When I'm sitting on the train I have my satchel on my lap which has magnetic clasps. I'll remember to keep it away from there in future. THANK YOU SO MUCH! :good:
I know this is an old thready but this blew my mind too! I think my juul is causing it, as it has a magnet on the end to snap to the charger. Never would've put two and two together. Thank you!
P4xl - Same random screen locking symptoms, NOT MAGNET related.
All of the responses in this describe the symptoms of the problem I have with my Pixel4xl, but not the description of the cause.
I most DEFINITELY do not have any magnets within any proximity to my phone.
It only has an Otterbox case, and will often lock when being actively used, while behind held at least 6" from any other object (except my hands).
Is anyone else experiencing this (non-magnet related issue)?

Yes I have the same issue where the phone locks itself randomly on 4XL. No idea what's going on I have a fabric case... Very annoying it happens all the time
I also have the same issue on the Pixel 4. No case, I'm sitting on my couch, no magnet within 6 feet, no electronics other than a remote control, yet my phone just sometimes locks.
Yes I'm facing this issue on my Pixel 2 as well, and no magnets near me!! Can someone Please help?
Hey guys make sure your buttons arent stuck to the frame
It's happening to me too on my pixel 4 xl. Did anyone determine a cause?
Same issue, no case on it or any magnet nearby. It's super annoying.
I had the same issue on my Pixel XL. Didn't think twice about it since it was an older phone, probably a bug with new os/old phone. But i just upgraded to the Pixel 4a and the same thing is happening! Is it related to smart unlock? The weather? Mars in retrograde?

Definitely not the cause for me.
In my Otterbox case, when pressed, the volume buttons cause the volume interface to appear (which isn't happening),
and the power button has a distinct click when pressed (and when held, activates the nfc card payment interface).
A good guess, but unfortunately isn't the cause, in my situation. ??

Question Galaxy Watch 4 Classic - Bezel not working.

Hiya guys,
I've had the galaxy watch 4 classic since launch and about 3 weeks ago the bezel stopped working.
If i power it off and on again it works fine for a couple of hours then stops.
So it doesnt seem to be mechanical. I've tried enabling and disabling bezel to wake etc but to no avail.
Any thoughts?

Why even try to sort it? Clearly you should be still under warranty - I'd be sending that sucker back, IIWY.
This started happening to me after I updated to CUJ2, a shutdown or reboot fixes it.
Hoping once I get DUJA the problem goes away as its annoying as hell.
Edit: This only happens once or twice a day at most
That's a bummer, it shouldn't happen at all...
Can confirm with latest update that this issue is fixed
I am having this problem after the last update that was done (the one with the November patches). If I turn off or restart the smartwatch the bezel stops working, to make it work I have to activate and deactivate "bezel to wake". Formatting I have not solved :/
Watch 4 Classic 46mm
this is happening to me on the DUJA update -> watch 4 42mm lte
confirmed fixed by activating bezel to wake
