So, in the Gravitybox for JB there was an option to have your navigation keys flash like a notification light, but in the KK version they got rid of that option. Does anyone know how I could get that somehow? I can't find a recent app that will work for this purpose. I just really liked that option.
Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
So, no takers?
Sent from my DROID MAXX using Tapatalk
What's the purpose? There is a notification light on ultra\maxx =) I'd rather look to that direction. Anyway it requires root.
Haha. Well, seeing as though no one has done anything with that notification light, so I think it would be easier just to get the navigation keys to light up. And I am rooted. Haha

Im posting this for a coworker of mine who is having problems with his screen. On occasion his screen becomes very dim. At times the RBG values get messed up and his screen has a blue, green or red tint. Is this a common problem? Also if anyone has had this problem how did verizon handle it?

Hello all -
Title pretty much says all, but I purchased a Razr Maxx HD on Saturday and after getting all my settings straight, I can't help but notice how loud the notification tone is. I've gone into volumes and set the notification to its lowest setting (can't understand why the volume is separated, but whatever), but when I get an email it is still very loud. Does anyone else believe their tone is unusually loud? Everything else sounds good, but I just can't figure out why this tone is so loud.
Lol yes. I came from an X2 and have noticed that the notification sounds are very loud even when on low settings.

Ok good, glad I'm not the one going crazy. Thought lowest volume setting would be good when the phone is on my desk at work. Little did I know the whole office would hear my notification even on the lowest setting....woke my wife up last night as well.

Nah not stupid at all. One of the very first things I noticed when I unboxed mine.

Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
Not that this will fix your issue.. but I installed the JB leak an have noticed for one the speaker is quieter than when on ICS overall.. and the notification volumes seem to reflect what you would think you would get when setting them to a lower setting.

That's good to hear. I've rooted and installed roms on phones for a few years now (starting with the Epic 4G on Sprint), but I just haven't taken that leap on this yet. The Maxx HD battery lasts so long and the phone seems smooth enough that I haven't had any desire to. Not sure if you even have to in order to run the JB leak, but I haven't gone there yet.
Thanks for that heads up - hopefully that stays when it becomes official.
That's promising. Maybe Moto is aware and will fix it through JB.
Sent via Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
I didn't root either the leaked firmware can be installed on a stock phone.. and then if you don't like something you can go back to the official firmware easily.. I am still on the JB firmware and I have no major bugs although battery life seems to be slightly less (still great though)
The leak seems to me to be an early JB build as it is even more "stock' android than the ICS version. The "people" app is stock JB (it doesn't have moto's black themeing applied.. which I actually prefer.) The navigation keys are stock as well.

Guys, I have to ask. How are you adjusting your volumes? Volume rocker or going into settings /sound and adjusting NOTIFICATION volume?
Since our moto device doesn't have the expanded volume control on screen, I go into settings to make the change. Volume is then, not so scary.
Sent from my RAZR MAXX HD using Tapatalk 2
Was just gonna say that. So used to volume down changing everything but under sounds.... solves the issue haha.

Since this phone has the biggest notification led ever, it is distracting when I am sleeping. I thought that turning background data off with SmartActions, or data sync off with Power Toggles would help. Neither has worked and I'm still getting notifications in the middle of the night. The only way to make sure its off is to turn off wifi and I don't want to do this because I want to get updates when I wake up. I have a case on so flipping over the phone doesn't really help. Is there another way?
Wow you must be a light sleeper!

Yeah it's annoying. If I didn't use the phone for an alarm or need it for work, I'd probably just turn it off when sleeping.

I've had the pleasure of owning both devices and there are a couple of things that I'm missing from the old Razr. 1st is the quick settings. I love the way that I could swipe to the left on the home screen and get quick access to the settings. On the Droid Maxx I had to go into settings and change the recent button to the settings button. I just hold it down and release to get to the settings. 2nd is the home page manager. I only need about 2-3 home screens and if I needed more or less it was very easy to add or delete a screen if i needed. With the Droid Maxx I don't have that ability. I just have extra screens that I don't use and cant manage. The 3rd missing feature is the favorites section in the apps drawer. Instead of looking for the apps that were used the most in the app drawer and that weren't on the home screens, i had them sitting in the favorites section. Now i have no choice but to make a favoites folder and utilize my home screens. Not that anything is wrong with that, it just looked better and cleaner. The 4th and final is being able to have root just to have adds blocked and the wifi hack. I am grand fathered on data and not giving it up! I got the Droid Maxx on release date and patiently waiting for root access, not too worried about unlocked bootloader. I'm use to having all these features and wish I could have them back. If you know another work around or things you miss about your old Rarz Maxx HD, please chime in. Thanks in advance.

Just use the Apex Launcher. There's a free version. It lets you customize swipes and other behaviors. The thing I like most about it is I can lock the screen so I don't accidentally move or delete icons.

I miss smart actions the most. I have read that Tasker will work in it's stead, however, the wife doesn't seem to agree when she gets jolted awake at 2:30 am from an email notification. I also don't care for the locked in place Google search bar. I hate that thing. Especially right at the top where I have to look at it.
But, in comparison to the RAZR Maxx, this one is so much nicer. Less lag, much less. Its so smooth and zippy. Best one I have had yet.

I really miss smart actions too. If my phone or roomates phone missed a call from our apartment gate intercom, it would automatically send a text to the other person. Also I loved having wifi connect only when in a specific area and having mobile data shut off.

Back to the original thread, after the hijack about Smart Actions/Assist...
I'd strongly recommend taking a look at Widgetsoid, which can be used to customize a set of toggles on the notification bar.
I really like it because you can specify settings for some of the toggles; for example, I have a brightness toggle that cycles 5%-->30%-->100%-->Auto, and a timeout toggle that cycles 30 seconds-->2 minutes-->5 minutes, but you could set those values to anything you wanted.
Here's a link to a pretty detailed tutorial.

if you have to have it (I like the active notifications better), you can use the xposed module Gravity Box to cause the buttons to flash with notifications. I'm sure there's other options that do the same though, but you run the risk of losing battery a lot faster (hence the purpose of active notifications)
