the notification led is constantly flashing green, i can't figure out how to turn it off. i don't know if its on for the signal or what, it flashes wether i have all the notifications on or off. when using the camera, every time the phone refocuses it makes a tick noise. also when i shake the phone i can hear something that moving around, and it sounds like its in the camera. after fully charging my phone for the first time it went to 99% and after taking it off the charger for 7 hours its still at 99%, which would be excellent if i didn't think it was lying to me.
Hopefully you didn't unlock the BLer and send that back for a new one...

theres no boot loader unlock for the att one x?!?!?!.....!?!? or is there?
i tried they ones in the store, all have the same issue, ah well i think the led going off constantly was because of juice defender or light flow or something i installed. restored the phone and not flashing anymore
So I was considering taking my new RAZR HD Maxx back because my notification light seems to not be working. I ran the battery down and there was a red light flashing, so I'm wondering...... is there something I have to do to get the notification light to work for notifications of the normal things like email, text, talk, facebook etc?
Thanks in advance!

So I did some more googling, looks like if you use the "restore" feature it can cause the LED not to work properly when setting up the device.... i mean WTF lmfao.... anyone found any work arounds let me know. I'll hold off until Monday to do a wipe and see if I can get this working.....

Odd. I did the google account restore and mine works fine... Have you done a reboot? Double checked the notification preferences?
Its worked fine for me. Might be something that works itself out after a bit. That is kinda normal to happen i guess.

download the light flow app and test notification. My first one didn't work at all. I exchanged it and the new one worked flawless, no issues. If the notification test doesn't work with the light flow app, I suggest you take it back and exchange it and download the app in store to test the exchanged unit.
My exchanged unit worked asap with the test I ran with the light flow app.
There is a video on droid-life I believe that shows you how to do it. Just google, droid razr hd notification light and it will show up.

Yeah, I had the same problem. First time I set it up, I restored from my Google account and the LED did not work at all for notifications. I tried Light Flow, but that did not get the LED's working again. I factory reset the device, but this time I did not restore from my Google account and the LED's starting working again. I had to manually restore my apps and settings.
I've done this a few times to test and everytime I restore from my Google account, the LED stops working. Definitely a bug in the restore functionality.
Dang, same problem here. Looks like I'll have to factory restore tomorrow after root and tibu.

When doing the test mode from the light flow app, is green the only color that is being tested on RAZR HD?

I've tested Blue, Green and Red so far. Those work well - will try yellow and white later.
My notification light works with light flow as long as screen is off. Any way to get led to work even with screen on?

Pretty sure that is a limitation of light flow. Or it may be a Motorola limitation.

You're right. I checked with Andrew. The phone LED only works when it's off.
I wouldn't use light flow (free version). Tried it for a bit and made my phone reboot, freeze, and go really slow. Of you have bad battery, I would say light flow is the cause.

I have been using the same app since I got my phone a few days ago and I haven't experienced any problems you describe. Battery is awesome and the phone is snappy.

Anybody have the white RAZR?
Have you seen the notification light at night?
It makes the whole phone glow. It looks badass when its flashing red.
I don't know if the black phone does that.

I see alot of ppl posting that they are getting more than 24hrs off one charge. Are your brightness settings lowered, because I am not getting that kind of success. Im getting around 15 to 17 he's and im not a heavy user....a few phone calls, some texting, 2hr of Pandora, lil YouTube, Facebook, and some browsing (pulse, XDA). However I do have my screen set at full brightness. Is that where I am losing my battery life? Don't get me wrong it is a world of diff coming from my TB....just curious!

Set it to auto and experiment with your battery time. I always set mine on auto. Good signal or connected to wifi improves battery.

this is towards heavy use lol. Whats your screen time in the battery stats? If you're not getting 3.5 hours or 4 you need to adjust settings. But definitely cut your brightness. Either auto, or what I do is set it to about 40%
managed this the other day, about 75% brightness

Hello all -
Title pretty much says all, but I purchased a Razr Maxx HD on Saturday and after getting all my settings straight, I can't help but notice how loud the notification tone is. I've gone into volumes and set the notification to its lowest setting (can't understand why the volume is separated, but whatever), but when I get an email it is still very loud. Does anyone else believe their tone is unusually loud? Everything else sounds good, but I just can't figure out why this tone is so loud.
Lol yes. I came from an X2 and have noticed that the notification sounds are very loud even when on low settings.

Ok good, glad I'm not the one going crazy. Thought lowest volume setting would be good when the phone is on my desk at work. Little did I know the whole office would hear my notification even on the lowest setting....woke my wife up last night as well.

Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
Not that this will fix your issue.. but I installed the JB leak an have noticed for one the speaker is quieter than when on ICS overall.. and the notification volumes seem to reflect what you would think you would get when setting them to a lower setting.

That's good to hear. I've rooted and installed roms on phones for a few years now (starting with the Epic 4G on Sprint), but I just haven't taken that leap on this yet. The Maxx HD battery lasts so long and the phone seems smooth enough that I haven't had any desire to. Not sure if you even have to in order to run the JB leak, but I haven't gone there yet.
Thanks for that heads up - hopefully that stays when it becomes official.
That's promising. Maybe Moto is aware and will fix it through JB.
Sent via Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
I didn't root either the leaked firmware can be installed on a stock phone.. and then if you don't like something you can go back to the official firmware easily.. I am still on the JB firmware and I have no major bugs although battery life seems to be slightly less (still great though)
The leak seems to me to be an early JB build as it is even more "stock' android than the ICS version. The "people" app is stock JB (it doesn't have moto's black themeing applied.. which I actually prefer.) The navigation keys are stock as well.

Guys, I have to ask. How are you adjusting your volumes? Volume rocker or going into settings /sound and adjusting NOTIFICATION volume?
Since our moto device doesn't have the expanded volume control on screen, I go into settings to make the change. Volume is then, not so scary.
Sent from my RAZR MAXX HD using Tapatalk 2
Was just gonna say that. So used to volume down changing everything but under sounds.... solves the issue haha.

Hello all. I am the owner of a Motorola Droid MAXX as my signature can testify. It is easily the best smartphone I've owned but there are a small handful of questions. First one follows.
The volume rocker on the left seems to only control the ringer volume. To change the notifications or media volume I have to go to Settings > Sounds. This hasn't been true on all my previous Android phones. Why is this different? Is there an app that I can buy that will synchronize the volumes when I press the hardware buttons? Have others experienced this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Sent via Motorola Droid MAXX
Mine's working just fine. Notification volume levels have been tied in with the ringer volume levels since ICS, if I'm not mistaken, and changing the volume in an app that's playing sounds affects the media volume on my end at least.
Mine is definitely not synchronized. Any idea how to fix it?
Sent via Motorola Droid MAXX
Mine is the same as the OP

Mine also has no option to synchronize that I can find.
I believe there are some apps that have widgets that let you see the volume on the home screen and quick click into the volume change setting. Ill have to go find one b/c its a pain in the butt to not know what level my notifications are at unless I go into settings.

That has done the trick for me. It survives reboots too. Well worth the $0.99.

Mine is also not synchronized.
Its also hard to get adjusted to the vibrating mechanism in this phone. You will rarely hear it vibrate but you can sort of feel it if it's in your pocket.
Sent from my XT1080 using xda app-developers app
Weird, I tested it out and it looks like my notification volume isn't synchronized either even though all my other ICS/JB phones have been. As far as I'm aware it acts like it is though, I'm pretty sure my text notifications at least have been quieter or louder at different times. I wonder if I should let Motorola know or if it's something intentional?
Volume Control in the Play Store works and is free, but occasionally the ringer volume doesn't change the notification--even if linked--when using the volume rocker; but it works flawlessly if you open the icon and use the slider. But not bad for free.
Haven't tried the paid one linked above to compare them. Maybe after work when I have more time.
Sent from my XT1080 using xda app-developers app
My RAZR MAXX has the same as op is referring to. I don't mind it. You have to be in the app to change its volume with the rocker.

It's been two weeks and still no fix for this. What gives?
Sent from my XT1080 using xda app-developers app
I had this issue with my Bionic also. I don't know why they wouldn't have it synced.
