I extracted and cooked the original rom stock rom (kdz) in the dsixda kitchen and was able to install it on my D800 with no issues at all, except WiFi doesn't work. everything else works. I tried replacing files from modules/libs folder of a working ROM but wifi still doesnt work. I have D800 kernel installed and also tried different non stock kernels still no dice.
Any help is appreciated.

both of those can be flashed with open Europe Roms with or without modems, rest would work as is.
my last device g pro E980, i jjust flashed the kdz for e980h to get open ROM without any other thing.
my question, can i do same with ATT g2, that is flash tot and modem if required ?

If you are talking about flashing stock rom on the AT&T LG using LG flash tool than I dont think you can flash any other rom besides the D800 or else you will brick it. Now if you mean flashing in a rom in custom recovery then yes its possible to flash euro roms (obviously)
Some one correct me If im wrong.

1: can i flash 802 kdz/tot on d800?
2: if i fail at 1 can i go back and flash 800 tot, will everything be normal after?

Go there and go to the Australian firmware list get 20B gingerbread and install it via the kdz flash method so that you get the baseband for it. Once you have done that you want to get a pen and write down your vpn settings...
Then just flash any rom and re enter your vpn settings back onto the custom rom and your set...

Basebands can't be flashed via ClockworkMod.
You'll need to flash a gingerbread baseband with the LG Flash Tool.
A guide is HERE.
Once you do that, you can install ClockworkMod after rooting with SuperOneClick.
If you can't root with SOC, then use the Megatron Root in the same thread linked above.
And lastly, once rooted, use Recovery Manager to flash ClockworkMod.
Cheers guys ill gave a play around when i get home see how i get on

I've got a similar problem.. Lucky Aussies.
I've been using 2.3.5, Baseband L6260_Modem_Sic_01.1042.00, Software version LGP920-V21e-Apr-19-2012
The phone gets reception on the highway, but not near the house. My suspicion is that it is connecting to 2G only..
I'm currently testing JellyBam-4.1.0_p920.STABLE.zip...
Great phone, but the lack of support (upgrades) from LG especially in Australia is annoying..
Any great ideas people?
Cheers
Michael
Hello, i am kinda new here and i have some questions...
1. What is excly the basebands?? I have a gsm phone
2. A flash a kdz file to change fw i lose my waranty?
3. I can change kernel on the stock rom?
Thanks in advice!!!
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA
1. Google is your friend, for example here.
2. Only if something goes wrong and you are not able to complete the flashing process. Also make sure that you flash the correct kdz for your phone/country/operator. In any way, as the flashing thread is warning "You do this on your own risk!", since this is not the official LG firmware update method.

basebands are similar to gsm drivers for mobile connectivity. firmware is a whole OS. You lose your warranty when rooting it. other than AOSP all custom roms are basically modified stock roms
So
first do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473781&highlight=kdz then http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236 and get kdz from here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=2 latest ones are v20x if you need to root v20x use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1518771 then you would want CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1482713
If you new then you would be searching about ghost calls it seems latest v20e and v20g have no issue but they are chinese I had no issue with v20b as well.
I pulled the radio out of the Stock ROM that @SmiLey497 posted and dropped it into the flashable zip that @autoprime posted in the General Development thread. Thanks to both of them for their work.

It gives you a new radio that has in theory been tested and tweaked more. In addition it should work well with the 4.4.2 ROM.

Another user reported that it works on Rayglobe which is another 4.2.2 ROM, as I understand it. You could flash it yourself and find out.

Correct, you should not need to flash this again. Unless you use the LG Support Tool to return to 4.2.2 stock (which contains the older radio) or if you flash an different radio, you should be good.
Thanks for this.

Is this the one for T-Mobile d801 I just want to make sure
Custom G2 D801
I had low signal issue after the official D800 lollipop update, as for D802 it have lots of different modems available and people with signal issues flashed different modems to fix their issue. But there is only one modem available for D800 the stock one.
I checked blastagator's thread and how he fixed send sms bug for KK, also samuele94 have thread for different D802 modems, so thanks to both of them.
After trying different combinations of D800 and D802 modem.img files, finally I was able to use D800 modem with D802 baseband files.
So I flashed different region modems (patched) and couple of them fixed my signals and few of them made it worse.
Here are the patched modems and stock modem:

Nice! I'll be sure to give these a whirl when I make the move to LP.
Okay, this is really really rad. I'm on BlissPop 3.2 that I maintain myself right now, but really am digging the idea of trying this new LP "stock" rom -- I may be reminded why I moved to 5.1.1, or I may be reminded why I miss Dorimanx' kernel so much... But what do you guys think about this new LP update from LG, which is a regression for most of us (running 5.1.1?)
Links are not working Please also tell which one of them patched versions are you using currently?

All links are online, and I am using Italy 30B currently.
I keep getting Wrong IP error when trying to download, any way we could have alternative links? Thank you for your work this is what we need for LP.
Tried this on my D800 with CM12 and it seemed like it kept rebooting the modem (signal would appear then disappear and I couldn't make calls).
Blastagator's seemed pretty good, light sensor and cell service work but not rotation. Going back, I found the 10O Radio and it has rotation, light, proximity and cell service working. I found it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451426
The sensors can be verified in CPU-Z on the Sensors tab.

Sorry I forget to mention this is only for Stock Rom Not custom roms.
custom roms are build using JB or KK bootloaders and they need KK or JB modem that's why this wont work in custom roms properly.

Derp. See, even though I've been using and playing with Android for over 2 years, there's so many device-specific things that you run into. I'm still learning the G2 but saw that many people had the rotation issue and figured I'd post about it.
Anyway, nevermind me, carry on contributing to this great forum

Well, tried to download, but takes me to one of those download pages that forces you to install some kind of weird .exe that install virus and spamware. Fortunately I was able to uninstall and clean the bad stuff (I hope).
Too bad because wanted to test.
EDIT: I was able to download without the exe, don't know what happened, but the "alternate" download didn't work at the time. Now is working fine. Anyway, tried multiple versions, and the German one is the one that gives a little better signal. Will test.
Thanks.

I would like to add , if you want to be rooted make sure after installing KitKat stock to root and then to install a custom stock based Rom like Cloudy or any of the stock based Roms here in XDA, if you install all the updates for lollipop you Won't be able to root and you'll have to go back to KitKat to root. I talk from experience.
