suddenly data service not working in Nexus 5 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
suddenly data service is not working in nexus 5. i tried all option...even tried with customer care...
i dont get edge/3g/2g signal...
9 can get calls & make calls incl sms...only data service not woking..
Even flash stock img...flashed radio downloading from google...no progress...
i am rooted & unlocked

Call the technical support line (not customer care) for your carrier and inquire whether or not they are working on the towers in your area. They can also "reboot" your SIM. Unlinks it and the phone reboots on the tower fresh. If they aren't doing work on towers and you flashed the factory images already, unroot (if you want) and relock and then begin the RMA process.

I already flashed radios and did change to stock download from Google . I m rooted now. Did with Cf root,. Wat u mean as RMA process ? Plz elaborate

Straightforward guide to getting your Galaxy S2 SGH-I727 ICS on T-Mobile

Pre-requisites:
a) Rooted
b) CWM Installed
c) Sim Unlock Code
I could not find a straight forward way to get the ATT SGH-I727 Unlocked and working on T-mobile so I thought I'd make this short list of instructions for those going through the same trouble.
The first thing I had to do was unlock the phone. I contacted a local company that charged $35. Free options failed. Expect to pay. There were mentions of calling ATT for the unlock code which I did, however, the CSR looked up the IMEI and determined that the unlock code was not YET available. From what I gathered, because the original phone owner was still under the two year agreement, this unlock was on hold until that time period was up. Those that bought their phone outright without a contract are provided their code with a call to customer service.
With the phone unlocked, I still couldn't get the phone to connect to a T-mobile signal. With a tmob sim, either a no-signal icon appeared or the phone simply showed full ATT bars but wouldn't allow T-mobile use in options. Also, *#simunlock# would generate a com.android error.
Finally, the following formula allowed for an unlocked phone picking up T-mobile signal:
1. Install the STOCK ICS UCLF6 4.0.4 - UNTOUCHED - rom following the instructions on that page impeccably.
2. Install Busybox (may not be necessary)
3. Install UCLF6 modified boot Kernel
4. Install T-mobile compatible radio - Blaze_4G_LB7_ICS_Radio_MOD worked for me
Boot it and see if you have a signal. You may need to go to options and manually choose T-mobile.
After that, I was able to install a different ROM. I chose SKY-ICS 4.2F6-2.6.1
With any new rom, you will still need to flash a tmob supported radio.
My s.o. will be using this phone, so I won't be messing with other roms, unfortunately. Let me know if you have a fast and stable configuration.
I hope this helps.
Actually as the radio is deeper than the firmware we flash normally you should only need to flash a tmo radio once unless a rom has radio built in most all roms do not

Does it make a difference whether I install the stock ics and kernel you provided? All I did is update the phone to ics via kies, install a recovery, flash superuser, then installed the blaze 4g radio. Would it make a difference between doing what you said and what I did?

It works, but its very crappy, sometimes connects, sometimes doesn't, even followed this post's instructions, still has crappy connection
For those who have T mobile fine on the Skyrocket , how much DL and UP speeds are you getting (and compaired to true T mobile phones data speeds) ? I heard some say they never get more than ~1 or 2 mbps which sucks TBH
Heard this is the hot T-Mobile skyrocket radio.

Are you trying to get Call/Text connection or 4G HSPA+ Connect?
Works on WIND too!
I spend a while trying to get this phone working on Wind (Canada's 1700 AWS carrier, similar to Mobilicity / TMo). I've finally succeeded by doing the following.
1: Install latest ICS STOCK
2: Use CWS to flash AT&T UCLF6
I have not been able to get nearfield working with this modem, but it's working great other than that (albeit somewhat slow UL/DL speeds, but that's likely a more wind's crappy network than the phone). Let me know if anyone has any ideas regarding the Nearfield issue.
Just wanted to share. I have been made so freaking happy by the fact that this worked
I bought my SR for full price (549.99) months ago and stupid att also saying my unlock code is not available yet !!

Phone Not activating

Hi Guru's,
Ya week I was in India, I tried to configure my phone as GSM by following below instructions given in below link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809314 , but for some reason its not working so I restored it back. Today I came to US and am trying to make a call using verizon sim unfortunately its not activating instead asking me to enter the credit card details to make a call and I see triangle on signal.
So I reached out customer service, all they saying is phone is in activate state and should work!!! I am not sure what to do, I rooted and unlocked and running CleanRom 2.1
Any help is appreciated.
My friend had a issue like that and he unrooted and went into a store and they replaced his sim and everything was fine. Have hou tried flashing back to stock?

[Q]chanaged radio band to usa. Im in india. Now Im not getting gsm network.

Please im in great trouble. I messed up with the settings in *#*#4636#*#*. I changed radio band to usa band. Now im not recieving gsm network signal. I tried undoing what i did and got atleast the network settings to work but now it only stays on global mode/cdma mode. I gave it to htc as i had it in warrenty. I did not say them that what i did. They said they would have to flash the whole thing and see if it works. Does anybody know that it will work again if it is flashed with stock rom. Or will the hardware has to be replaced. Please reply guyz. Right now my device is within the service centre. I hope they return my device as good as new. Please help me on this guyz.

Same issue here with my dual sim E8 Indian model (M8SD) and stock rom. While trying to enable LTE, i've selected "usa band" and can't receive GSM/UMTS anymore here in Europe (Belgium and Luxembourg) Seems there is now way to go back to previous settings --> is this confirmed that there is no way to get back to previous setting ?
Options I see are:
1- Send it back to HTC support so they fix it
2- Restore it to real "stock state" with a RUU... but can't find this RUU for my Indian model (please let me know if you know where I can find it) and i'm afraid to brick it
3- Restore it with a TWRP stock backup (available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55979635&postcount=1 ) and described there http://androidteen.com/htc-e8-root-install-twrp-recovery/ but i'm afraid to brick it
Which option will you choose?
BR
I suppose flashing RUU will bring everything back to normal. I had same issue some time ago when RUU is not available. So I follow method in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2871269 and able to unlock other band such as AUS and EURO band.

I went to the htc showroom and said them that my device has some problem with the network. I didnt say them anything i did. I just said that it has some network issue... I said i switched to global mode and it is not coming back to gsm mode. They tried and checked it. They couldnt solve it. I did factory reset 4 times before going to htc. They said have you factory reset your device, i said 4 times which i did. So they took in the device and coudnt solve it. Trust me never buy an htc device in india. Atleast not in hyderabad because there service centres are not plenty and the one i reached was 10 km from my home and im lucky to have it close to me. Coz its the only service centre for two states combined AP and telangana. I was lucky enough to have it close to me.
They replaced my device after that. I got my replacement and as i bought it from Big C showroom, they had replacement offer. So my dad replaced it with iphone 6 plus and paying the rest amount.
I suggest you do the same... Try and get a replacement device and sell it or replace it with moto x 2014. Trust me... I bought a moto g 2 as a backup till i get a good smartphone as few will release in 2015. Motorola, samsung are best smartphones you can buy in india. Buy a moto g 2. Its 13000 rupees. Take the white. Looks more classy. It has almost all features of htc one e8 with little compromise .
Replace htc as soon as possible or be terrified by there service in india. If you want to stick with htc. You must head to the service centre at chennai. Its the best service centre of htc in india. Best of luck.
Dont try to flash or other stuff as you would loose your warranty. Then its impossible to get your device replaced.
Post hear if need further help.. Thanks

Will restoring the radio partition from twrp also require soff?

[Completed] Nexus 5 (hammerhead) IMEI set to 0

Greetings
its a long story but i'll try to keep it short, my mom's phone is the nexus 5, she moved to turkey, where phones bought from outside of turkey will stop working after two weeks or so (no gsm service) so she took the phone to a "repair" shop where they unlocked the phone, rooted it with some chinese custom rom, anyway the phone performance deteriorate significantly, so she gave it to me hoping i can fix it, so i installed nexus root toolkit and flashed stock android and unrooted and relocked the boot loader and set the tamper flag to zero, all is good by in the process im sure i messed up somehow and the IMEI now is set to zero, i cant receive signal on the phone (the signal statues keep switching between no service, searching, and no sim) even though it can recognize the network, i took the phone with me back to finland, and i asked LG if they can fix it, they told me they can try to reflash stock rom on it again, but no guarantee if its gonna be fixed or not, i thought in that case i might as well wait for marshmallow and see if it will fix it, i waited for the update for few days and today i decided to update it manually, i flashed the android 6.0 (Build Number : MRA58K) and still the IMEI is set to NULL, is there anyway i can get it fixed, i really appreciate your help and thank you for your time
Hi
Did you backup your EFS partition before using NRT? If not, chances are that you will have to return your device to the repair shop.
Try posting in this Q&A and check the other threads about IMEI/EFS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help
Good luck.

D2212: IN Version: Phone loses Network : Have restored Original D2212_18.5.B.0.26 ftf

HI Friends, (@Vinay)
I am new here, and have specifically registered to seek your help
I have D2212 IN version which was SIM unlocked.
Apparently, I was successful in
1) Unlocking the boot loader
2) Installing Vinay's Custom Nitrogen ROM
Subsequently, I used the phone happily for over 1month and problems started happening where Phone lagged so much that it became unbearable.
Also at the same time, I noticed my phone would lose its network.
I would get a X next to SIM indicator. No Signal. I swapped the SIM into other phone, the SIM works fine.
I put other working sim in the E3 D2212, again no Network. No Data (2G, 3G). Only WiFi works
So I decided to roll back to D2212_18.5.B.0.26_Customized IN.ftf via Flashtool
Still no dice. I still see no network.
When I hit *#*#7378423#*#*
I think (repeat think) the phone is SIM Locked.
No matter which slot (1 or 2) I insert it, I don't get Network or DATA
But I can certainly vouch the Same Vodafone IN SIM was working on the phone earlier.
Any help in this regards is greatly appreciated.
Regards
Dharmesh Shah
Mumbai, INDIA
Did you flashed the stock rom correctly?
Well I thought so
HI @vincy009
Many thanks for responding. Appreciate your help.
Well I thought I did.
I referred to a few youtube videos to do it using flash tool.
Also, pls note, I also tried flashing back Vinay's Nitrogen ROM, that too would not get Network.
So,it was 100% issue with the way I was flashing the rom (Stock or other)
Eventually, I surrendered and sent the Phone to Sony who refused to fix it citing it to be out of warranty due to unlocked boot loader
So I had to submit to a local Mobile repair shop who fixed it.
But I am yet to ascertain what exactly he did.
In the mean time, I have already read the Newbie's Q&A and other threads where they explain how to use flash tool.
If there is an accurate thread/howto/etc, pls point me to that, so that I can avoid mistakes in future.
Maybe you done something wrong in flashing step or it wud have been any Lil hardware problem.. If wanna do new things always get a nandroid backup.. So it wont get mess up.
