[Completed] Nexus 5 (hammerhead) IMEI set to 0 - XDA Assist

Greetings
its a long story but i'll try to keep it short, my mom's phone is the nexus 5, she moved to turkey, where phones bought from outside of turkey will stop working after two weeks or so (no gsm service) so she took the phone to a "repair" shop where they unlocked the phone, rooted it with some chinese custom rom, anyway the phone performance deteriorate significantly, so she gave it to me hoping i can fix it, so i installed nexus root toolkit and flashed stock android and unrooted and relocked the boot loader and set the tamper flag to zero, all is good by in the process im sure i messed up somehow and the IMEI now is set to zero, i cant receive signal on the phone (the signal statues keep switching between no service, searching, and no sim) even though it can recognize the network, i took the phone with me back to finland, and i asked LG if they can fix it, they told me they can try to reflash stock rom on it again, but no guarantee if its gonna be fixed or not, i thought in that case i might as well wait for marshmallow and see if it will fix it, i waited for the update for few days and today i decided to update it manually, i flashed the android 6.0 (Build Number : MRA58K) and still the IMEI is set to NULL, is there anyway i can get it fixed, i really appreciate your help and thank you for your time

Hi
Did you backup your EFS partition before using NRT? If not, chances are that you will have to return your device to the repair shop.
Try posting in this Q&A and check the other threads about IMEI/EFS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help
Good luck.

D2212: IN Version: Phone loses Network : Have restored Original D2212_18.5.B.0.26 ftf

HI Friends, (@Vinay)
I am new here, and have specifically registered to seek your help
I have D2212 IN version which was SIM unlocked.
Apparently, I was successful in
1) Unlocking the boot loader
2) Installing Vinay's Custom Nitrogen ROM
Subsequently, I used the phone happily for over 1month and problems started happening where Phone lagged so much that it became unbearable.
Also at the same time, I noticed my phone would lose its network.
I would get a X next to SIM indicator. No Signal. I swapped the SIM into other phone, the SIM works fine.
I put other working sim in the E3 D2212, again no Network. No Data (2G, 3G). Only WiFi works
So I decided to roll back to D2212_18.5.B.0.26_Customized IN.ftf via Flashtool
Still no dice. I still see no network.
When I hit *#*#7378423#*#*
I think (repeat think) the phone is SIM Locked.
No matter which slot (1 or 2) I insert it, I don't get Network or DATA
But I can certainly vouch the Same Vodafone IN SIM was working on the phone earlier.
Any help in this regards is greatly appreciated.

Did you flashed the stock rom correctly?
Well I thought so
HI @vincy009
Many thanks for responding. Appreciate your help.
Well I thought I did.
I referred to a few youtube videos to do it using flash tool.
Also, pls note, I also tried flashing back Vinay's Nitrogen ROM, that too would not get Network.
So,it was 100% issue with the way I was flashing the rom (Stock or other)
Eventually, I surrendered and sent the Phone to Sony who refused to fix it citing it to be out of warranty due to unlocked boot loader
So I had to submit to a local Mobile repair shop who fixed it.
But I am yet to ascertain what exactly he did.
In the mean time, I have already read the Newbie's Q&A and other threads where they explain how to use flash tool.
If there is an accurate thread/howto/etc, pls point me to that, so that I can avoid mistakes in future.
Maybe you done something wrong in flashing step or it wud have been any Lil hardware problem.. If wanna do new things always get a nandroid backup.. So it wont get mess up.

Phone Missing Baseband and IMEI

I need some help with my S6 - My Phone is stock, I have taken all the updates from Verzion - I have not tired to root this phone or load any ROMS to it.
I use the phone for works so it was loaded with all the airwatch stuff that does not like Root / Custom rom.
the Phone was working at lunch with no issues. I was leaving work and I was unable to to the internet and had no signal - so I rebooted the phone. after I rebooted it, it would be on for like a minute then reboot and keep doing it - So I did a factory reset on the phone. After the factory reset it would not register to Verizon. I checked about phone and every was unknown. Called verizon and the said that was bad- then told me since it was over a year old to go to best buy ( where i got it to see if they could help ). they were no help. I called Samsung to see if i could send it in for repair. They suspended all out of warranty repairs for some reason. so now i have a phone that i cant use as a phone.
I have loaded the phone with the latest firmware with ODIN and did not change anything.
Verizon gave me a new SIM card - that did not work.
the Samsung Desk at best buy could not do anything - they were trying to reflash the factory rom but they had a problem and told me the phone has been rooted.
the knox is not tripped - I have not tired to do anything to this phone.
is there anything that I can try to do to get this phone working again - or send it some where.
it is out of warranty - they will not fix it .
I don't have a backup of the EFS folder which i guess is what is wrong with it.

Custom imei samsung galaxy j5 [j500f]

Hi folks,
i'm new here so if i'm making a mess by posting here my problem, my apologies.
Here it goes, i'm from Portugal and i've got a S.G J5 model nÂș J500F, i didn't bought it brand new so in the first days of use i was gettin error in SIM service, so i went to a shop and explain to the guy what was happening and the guy told me it was imei issues and he could change it, at start it was everything ok the phone worked just fine, but i noticed the guy downgraded my android version from 6 to 5.1.1 and now the problems started again, when i install Facebook, Instagram and stuff like that, the phone crash and pop-ups with all kinds of errors ocurs, like Contacts As Stoped, Messages as Stoped, until i can't do anything in phone and need to wipe everything and make a clean install again.
The problem is, i want to upgrade my android version (my phone is rooted) but i don't know if i update it i will lose the changed IMEI that the guy put in there and then i'll not have SIM Service again.
Can somebody help me ? i'm noob in that stuff.
And i'm sorry for the bad english LOL
Thank U.
you can upgrade it, dont worry about imei, imei will be remain same as the guy change it

Lost 4G(LTE) connectivity after latest official update

Hello guys,
I am losing my mind here so I kindly ask for help. I aint no expert in flashing roms or anything, I have a stock Redmi 6 and yesterday I got a pop up about updating my phone. I selected yes and my nightmare begins.
Since then, I cant get the phone to connect via mobile network. I cant get any connectivity of any type using mobile data.
The phone is a Redmi 6, android version is 8.1.0 O11019 and rom is MIUI Global 10.2 Stable 10.2.3.0 (OCGMIXM).
Please help the noob get his phone back, I am about to throw it away
There is an update miui_HM6Global_V10.2.4.0.OCGMIXM_f662ddbe15_8.1.zip
http://ru.miui.com/thread-24171-1-1.html
thanks for your reply, updating to 10.2.4.0.OCGMIXM didnt resolve the issue.
Still no 4G.
Any other ideas? Please I am desperate
Head to" about phone" (in settings ) tap " internal storage " multiple times to enter phone info
Then head over to change network settings to LTE only or enable one with LTE as a possible option if you've disabled it by mistake
Also check which slot your sim is in ...
May not work if sim is in secondary slot and 4g is disabled for it
Let me know if it worked !
Cheers !
Thank you for your reply my friend.
I have tried all these things, they were the obvious ones, so I went with them first. Nothing works, phone is unable to connect to 4G. I have flashed multiple times in case it was a bad flash, I even downgraded to a Developers Rom, but nothing works.
Funniest thing of all, I contacted Xiaomi UK customer services today, and after trying various *# codes, and the guy asking me to turn the phone off and then on again, he ended up saying that I need to wait for the next update.
It is insane

Note 9 (SM-N960F Exynos) incorrect IMEI

Disclaimer: So its not a stolen phone, prior owner was just being nasty. I bought the phone from a 2nd hand shop (Cash Crusaders, Kathu, South Africa), where they told me that a lady sold the phone to them, came back after 3 months and wanted to buy it back for the same price (they guarantee buybacks for 1 month), they refused to sell it back to her at selling price, so she went and had the phone blocked. They went through the process of unbricking it through the ISPs, but in the meantime also got repair shops to try and fix it... They changed the IMEI number... So I bought the phone, fully functional, did a factory reset, saw that it had OEM unlocked and figured it was the cause for the biometrics not working, turned that on and thats where my mission started. OEM locked, custom firmware detected... Used Odin to flash on stock firmware (from Frija), got the phone functional, but emergency calls only and no cellular. I have tried rooting and using console, I have tried changing it in the EFS file, I have tried changing it via ADB Fastboot, via dialer (does nothing even with Google Dialer Framework V5)) no dice, it keeps the incorrect IMEI. I have looked up the IMEI on IMEI.info and its clean, so I take it they managed to get it unblacklisted, which is why I want to get the original IMEI back.
What I would like help with is does anyone know how exactly I can change the IMEI number on my phone (Rooted with Magisk and TWRP, but eXposed framework is finnicky and doesnt register properly, even through I installed the RIRU (V23) and RIRU EdXposed (Canary, both Sandhook and YAHFA on seperate occasions) packages via Magisk (V21.1 and V8.0.3 for manager) as per instructions.
P.S. I am a student on a tight budget, so I would prefer to do it on the cheap/free and I live in Namibia, so sending it to Samsung isnt quite an option.
Also please let me know if there is any info, logs, etc. I can attach that might help.

I have my receipt and they have theirs. So by all means verify the IMEI yourself 356630093456642.

Thing is phone got cleared. Original IMEI is clean, which is why I wanna reset it back to it, only problem is they seem to have used a flash-kit to change it in the recovery partitions too (bricked the damn thing when I recovered it (accidentally turned OEM lock on...), I've tried everything down to loading the engineering combination file (interesting though, its android 8.1, which shouldn't actually be possible to do from Android 10) on it and trying through there, no dice. Also asked local repair shops if any of them have a flash kit, none have 1... So I'm stuck at this point, cant even do the normal 'pay a repair shop to fix it for you' method.
