[Q] What is the number of default dpi ? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

I flashed SlimKat build from daothanhduy1996 for the Galaxy S 4G T959 but the rom set dpi to 182. After searching for an apps to change the dpi, I got one but I don't know the default dpi for this phone (this is my mom's phone).
I read the specs and find out that this phone has 4" screen display with 480 x 800 res (233 ppi) but I can't find the dpi!
Can anyone tell me the default dpi for this phone?

240.

200 dpi works fine
I've been running my Tab at 200dpi for the last month, and so far, no problems at all.
Through a bit of experimenting, I've found that 40 dpi jumps usually work fine. So, 160 dpi, 200 dpi, 240 dpi and 280 dpi all work fine. Anything in between usually breaks some app or other.
I'm running at 200 as well. Most apps work fine, some games don't fill up the screen but that's generally the exception.
182 is max res for cam

Try changing ure density in build.prob rather then using software..
i run 180 with no issues.
Running 220 here, change via build.prop. Camera works fine.

I always edit build.prop to change the density, and with <182 the camera don't work.
Can you try the camera with 180, and if it work can you tell us what kernel/rom are you using?

Has anyone tried a lower density via the build.prop method? I'm aiming for 160-170. I'm using LCD Density Changer app to save settings
Uh... have you actually read this topic ? the message right above yours gives the answer.

Woops. I missed that last thread. Thanks.

Changing LCD density in build.prop?

I usually use a app for this but it keeps crashing on my mew rom. Can someone tell me how to do it manually?

Exactly how you think. Get root explorer, mount / system as r/w, open build.prop in text editor and scroll down to the res. Default value is 240.

Or you can use an app called Root Tools by JRummy16. I have it set to 200 and it works great except the clock widget is a bit wonky
Just set mine to 200 and it looks great using weather and toggle widget
Not to be a complete idiot, but what exactly does it mean to change the LCD density, and what are the advantages of doing so?
Its like changing the resolution on your monitor...

Can We Get Sense 4 Tablet UI in HOX ??

hello
Is there anyway to we get Sense4 tablet UI ??
There was a thread in development a while back about tablet UI but I don't know where it went.

set dpi to 160

192 is the ideal DPI to set.

Has anyone tried using the app "LCD density changer"? It has a preview function where you can test a new DPI before setting it to persist through reboot. A great way to test new DPI without having to reflash if something gets borked.
I personally have been trying 190 but systemui always crashes and the keyboard doesn't fit on the screen.

Custom Screen Density

Has anyone set a custom screen density on their Nexus 5? If so how does it look? I think default on my Nexus 4 was 320 but I set it to 240 to have things a bit smaller and I plan to do the same with the Nexus 5.
Nexus 5 build.prop says 480.
Can be changed, works ok for the bulk of the system but I found it did weird things with the stock launcher (kept triggering the keyboard?! I assume it messed with touch zones for the searchbar or something).
M.
+1 would also like to know whos tested and what works.

Nexus 5 Default DPI for slimkat rom

If you have trouble with the dpi in the nexus 5 when installing slimkat in build prop editor under LCD density find property value change it from 370 to 445 and that should fix the problem if not try 480. after that you should have better system look over all :good:

What is the point of this post? For those few who don't know how to change DPI, its in the slim FAQ linked on post 1 of the slim thread. What looks "better" is completely subjective. 445 and 480 looks like child's interface IMHO
