Device: galaxys4gmtd // Samsung Galaxy S 4G
Welcome to AOKP for the galaxys4gmtd aka Samsung Galaxy S 4G!
These are UNofficial builds (pure AOKP) maintained by me - daothanhduy[xxxx].
This ROM is tested and working great, with exception to some specific bugs left of aries project for galaxys4gmtd such as memtrack module or so. Hopefully a fix will appear soon.
Many thanks to AOKP and CM for their source!
» Installation is simple:
Make backup or whatever u need then copy the ROM into ur sdcard.
Reboot into Recovery and full wipe except sdcard.
Reboot into Download mode and Heimdall oneclick BML ROM/kernel
Flash the AOKP build from CWM 5.x
After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the Beanstalk ROM again - use the button combo to get into TWRP if it doesn't do it automatically.
Reboot and enjoy!

F.A.Q (Freaking Annoying Questions)
Q: Am I advised to do anything?
A: READ THIS CAREFULLY everyone. Since I changed the partition layout for more convenient to work on kitkat or future Android so I advise you to do a oneclick heimdall back to BML first, do a full wipe except for the sdcard and then flash the kitkat zip. Once u r in TWRP, full wipe and flash the build again (with or without gapps) . I might change the partition table several times until I have the good space calculation for rom and gapps tho, so this procedure is advised/required - just took u 30s to do that tho.
I will also mark the zip/update that have another different table that required this procedure then, otherwise, you can update via dirty flash.
Link to heimdall package: AntonX's Basic with a twist kernel [BML]
And here is the recommended procedure:
1. Make backup or whatever u need then copy the ROM into ur sdcard.
2. Reboot into Recovery and full wipe except sdcard.
3. Reboot into Download mode and Heimdall oneclick BML ROM/kernel
4. Flash the Beanstalk build from CWM 5.x
5. After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the Beanstalk ROM again - use the button combo to get into TWRP if it doesn't do it automatically.
6. Reboot and enjoy!
Q: Is this Rooted?
A: Yes it is. To have the Root privileges, Go to settings>about phone>then tap build number 7 times to enable the developer settings, once enabled, under root access, choose apps and adb. That's all. (Thanks to @foxxx5oh)
Q: Where is 'fix permission' option in CWM?
A: I believe koush decided to throw away the fix permissions button in CWM because he said it was largely placebo effect and had no real purpose anymore. (Thanks to @cpkelley94)
Q: Dahell, I can't use Google Now.
A: I found that all you have to do to fix Google now is get root explorer, titanium backup or SD maid, remove system app Google search and reinstall from play store... (Thanks to @turtlepa)
Q: My battery drains so fast and I found out that WiFi kept awake and running in background even I disabled it. Why?
A: Due to new Android version permission, Google set up a new option to allow Gapps to scan for nearby networks even when WiFi is off. To disable that, go to settings>WiFi>advance>untick the scanning always available option n u r cool again .
Q: Is this really KITKAT? And can I eat it?
A: Yes, yes it is. And u r advised to cook it before eating tho. Enjoy your meal then .
Nice, I loved the AOKP in ICS, I will definitely try the KK version.
Oh, btw the installation instruction it is saying
Flash the Beanstalk build from CWM 5.x

should be AOKP.

Thanks for doing this! Since I'm currently running Beanstalk 4.4.2 with associated Gapps, can I assume that I don't have to re-flash another Gapps package?
I just found a severe problem with the previous build. Please don't flash it til I update it with a newer build.
Anyone has flashed it: just use ur phone normally but u wouldn't be able to reboot to recovery tho. If so, you can heimdall flash any boot.img that has recovery working as of beanstalk or slimsaber and u r good again. sorry for this inconvenience.

Second build
Fixed "no recovery" boot.img kernel image
Kernel info: 3.0.101-NiLTMTv14.05.02.branch.master
Touchwake implemented
Frandom implemented
USB OTG implemented
Random Entropy tweaks
Fast charge
Deep Idle
GPU ION updates
Custom Vsync
Built with Google GCC toolchain 4.7
To ones that flashed the previous build: Find a way your self to use heimdall to flash the boot.img within this build:
Windows user: Use heimdall frontend, download PIT and browse to the kernel image and flash
Ubuntu user: extract the kernel image and use this command:
Code:
heimdall flash --kernel
In this build, there is no bootanim initially and I didn't have time to modify the ROM zip manually so: actually, there is bootanim but with different name: bootanim-alt.zip, located at the same path as common bootanim: /system/media. Rename it via root explorer and enjoy! I'm going back to daily routine, as it has been 3-day for me holiday, from tmr so good luck everyone and bb .
Kinda big kinda small like inbetween beanstalk and slim file size. Ill have to try this. Oh how i wish for dirty unicorns daily..

GAPPS
I didn't see any GAPPS listed for this rom. I found a set made for AOKP from their home site. you can get them from this link
http://goo.im/devs/kxp/gapps/aokp-full_gapps-kk-20140211.zip
Had a weird problem trying to factory reset after installing. Just hung there on sdext format then touching the screen it would select other partitions while formatting. Is the one up on goo the fixed one ?

It was meant to be the gapps on aokp.co download section but I guess flashing whichever gapps wouldn't hurt

i have the same but! my issue is when i format my SD card, it would select other partitons while formatting and Also when im installing Rom.
Loaded the Rom and GAPPS. The GAPPS I chose did not load the play store. I tried to go back to recovery to flash again, and the phone will not access recovery mode. I just get a blank screen after the "Kernal" screen(the cat screen). My micro usb port is damaged so cant use heimdall or Odin. Any other suggestions? Outside of getting the usb port repaired?

For what it's worth, the same thing happened to me a couple months ago. I called T-Mobile and asked if they could repair the USB port. They said that it's tough to impossible to repair the ports...so they sent me a new phone despite the fact that I'd had it for well over 2 years.
If you have a post paid plan... A new phone T-Mobile is good with that stuff. To be honest they usually don't check if u cant one click back. Although it prob is your USB port on phone a lot of times its the cable or USB controller on the computer. You need to use a root hub port... There's always 1 or 2 min on a PC. Fixing the usb port is a pain... Thats kind of lethargic tho of tmobile to not want to resolder the USB port. The problem with recovery is how twrp was compiled with boot when building the ROM. Kinda like in 05 beanstalk. I wish I could help dao fix this as its fixed on Bs but we are like a married couple. Maybe one day he will unblock me

I'll be glad to send it to you. For 10 dollars, that is quite cheep. It is the USB port that is out, has been for awhile. Been using an external charger and two batteries to keep it going.

This ROM aims at bringing to the G2X community what it deserves : a fully working jellybean (this is NOT the hackfest) build based on CM10.1 (android 4.2.1). I wanted this powerful device to get the very best, and now it will get the most recent android system, updated whenever I will have some time to. Never again, we will wait for LG to update this device.
As most of you know, the radio doesn't work, which means no calls/SMS on CM10/10.1. That is why I adapted a dual boot system (based on bihariel's work) for this device.
WHY DUAL BOOT?
With dual booting, you can choose between two ROMS and change from one to another in less than 20 seconds!
You can change to CM10.1 to...
- Feel what it means to have a buttery smooth device
- Play games
- Make free WIFI calls (US and Canada) with GrooveIP lite
- Use the most recent android OS.
When you're on the go, change to a CM7/CM9/CM10 (hackfest) ROM...
- FAST!
- Without altering the CM10.1 files
- To make phone calls and receive SMS
DISCLAIMER
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE of any damages to your device related to the use of this ROM or the dualboot toolkit. You do this at your own risk. Even though this has been tested and works well, using NVFLASH may brick your device if done incorrectly.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This ROM comes in two flavours: The dualboot toolkit or the Original flashable ROM
Dualboot ROM Instructions
WARNING! NVFLASH will format EVERYTHING, including internalSD. Make sure you backup your important files on your externalSD card
PART 1 - Resizing system partition
1) Unzip the dualboot toolkit and unzip NVFLASH_Resizer-G2X.zip.
2) Power off your phone and remove the battery. Keep vol. up and vol. down held and plug the phone via USB to a WINDOWS computer.
3) Windows should add an "APX driver". Go to control panel -> Device manager and right click on it -> Update driver -> search in system. Then, browse to the drivers folder inside the NVFLASH package and choose nvidiausb.inf. Approve any error messages (Windows 8 users read my FAQ). Install the Nvidia Fastboot driver.
4) Unplug your phone and hold down vol.up and vol.down. Replug it again and double click on flash.bat inside the NVFLASH folder. KEEP BOTH BUTTONS HELD DOWN DURING THE WHOLE PROCESS!.
5) When NVFLASH is done, unplug the phone and put back the battery. Reboot into recovery with power + vol. down. Plug it back and go to mounts and storage -> mount USB storage. If your PC asks to format the internal SD card, select yes.
PART 2 - Installing ROMS
1) Download the desired "call/SMS" ROM and extract boot.img from it's flashable zip. Rename it to boot1.img. Extract Step3_bootimg.zip from the dualboot toolkit and copy-paste boot1.img into system/boot, replacing the file that is already there. Repack Step3_bootimg.zip.
2) Copy-paste your desired ROM into the 0dualboot folder and send it to your device SDcard with everything it contains (your device should already be in the "mount USB storage" menu).
3) From the recovery, flash Step1_enabler.zip. When the screen goes black, hold power + vol. down to get back into recovery.
4) Flash your desired ROM, then Step2_ROM1.zip. Reboot to the OS.
5) You should have a Systemchanger app. Open it, click on "Switching" and give root permissions. When the screen goes black (again...), hold power + vol. down to get into recovery.
6) Flash ROM2.zip and Step3_Bootimg.zip and reboot in the OS
And there you go! To switch from one OS to another, just open the systemchanger app and click on "switching"!
Credits to bihariel for the original method. See the original thread here.
Original flashable zip ROM instructions
1) Boot into recovery with power + vol. down
2) Wipe data/cache, then mounts and storage -> format system
3) Flash this ROM
4) Advanced -> Wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions
5) Reboot and enjoy!
Special trick : In settings, go to About phone and click 6 times on Build number. This will pop up the developer and performances options. In performances options, CPU settings, change the governor from INTERACTIVE to SMARTASSV2.

FAQ
I am using Windows 8 and I cannot install NVFLASH drivers!
In windows 8, you will need to go on Select Settings (right bar)/More PC Settings (at bottom). Then go General/Advanced Startup/Restart Now/Troubleshoot/Advanced Options/Windows Startup Settings/Restart. Disable driver signature enforcement (should be options 7 I think). If you don't get to the advanced startup menu, keep pressing F8 when rebooting.
I am getting Status 7 errors while flashing this ROM!
This is possible, and to fix this simply flash another CM10.1 ROM before (adampk's build 7) and dirty flash this ROM again. If it doesn't work, go to mounts and storage and manually mount /system.
I found a bug, can I submit a logcat ?
Yes, but make sure you are taking a logcat while the bug happens. Please post them in a userthread or send them to me via PM. Thanks!
I have a suggestion for your ROM...
...and I'm always open to them! Whether it's for integrating new apps, themes, tweaks, I'm always open for good ideas! PM me or post in the user thread.
I am experiencing FC and some base apps are missing!!
This is not normal. I've been running this build for two days in a row and didn't have a single issue. You should consider reinstalling using the Original flashable ZIP package. Simply boot to CM10.1, power off the phone, then get into recovery using power + vol. down and follow the instructions (if you are using the Dualboot Toolkit).

Whoa. I think I'm going to try it out. Maybe a stable Gingerbread ROM like hellfire for calls to back up the CM10 goodness. Would switching ROMs often, like 3 or 4 times an hour, have much impact on battery?

Thanks! This was not my main project as this is only a port of cm10.1 (with some fixes and many tweaks to make it interesting of course ) because I had some issues with the other one but I'll try to make this one as useful as possible even without radio. I actually compiled this and realized that it was very efficient and functional.

Switching ROMS shouldn't have a very big impact on battery usage. Changing the CPU governor to SMARTASSV2 and keeping airplane mode on (in CM10.1) might help somewhat, but I already silenced the radio so it shouldn't use too much battery anyway.
If everything goes as planned, I should release another kernel build by tomorrow to add some interesting features and the upcoming "weekly" updates for this ROM will be available as "patches" for those who already have the dual boot set up to make it as simple as possible. Of course, new users will also have the full CWM flashable zip version.
I installed Original flashable ZIP (For single boot). It's the one that I am looking for a while.

I don't know what's going on but after I unziped this dual boot file with 7zip and I went into the "0dualboot" folder then the "NVFlash_Resizer-G2x" and in there I find the "Drivers" folder like you said. However, in the drivers folder is the "amd64" and "i386" but both of those folders are empty. Nothing is inside them at all. Am I missing something? This is on Win7 so should find it just fine. Can anyone help me with this?
Edit: I just downloaded the file "DBToolkit_cm10.1_p999" for the 3rd time with the same problem. Also the file you specified, "flash.bat" isn't showing up either in the NVFlash folder.
Thank you so much. I hope people like you keep the G2X development alive.
Thanks again.

Oh woah my bad...I honestly don't understand why it's missing files in the NVFLASH package..Well it's being reuploaded at the moment so it should be ready in about 5-10 minutes.
Sorry for this.
I will download it myself and verify it to make sure everything is okay now...If something is wrong just reply back
EDIT: Okay it's back up and I verified everything so you should be good.

Use the single boot (Original flashable zip) if you do not want to use nvflash. For dual boot, you don't have the choice. If you backup everything with titanium backup on your externalSD or computer you shouldn't lose anything though.

hey man thanks for your work, where you found time to tinker with our little dual boot problem, while working on the kernel and everything else, i wont ever know. dang dude. will be trying this out after i replace my wifes screen tonight. i would say the G2X community owes you one...or more. thanks again!
Ok, so I was installing this dual boot and ran across a problem, I, now, cannot mount the system or cache after the first step... So I cannot get a ROM on my phone to work at this time. Any ideas?

Restart the NVFLASH process. Make sure you keep vol. up and vol. down held during the whole process. Plug the phone directly in a USB port from your motherboard (not in a splitter or a front port, for example). Also make sure you followed the instructions correctly and that the bootloader and recovery files are completely sent when running NVFLASH.
Oh also, verify that you have the correct drivers installed (Nvidia USB-boot driver or something like that) and extract everything for the NVFLASH archive.
Just to make sure the archive is okay now, can I have a confirmation of someone who tried it and it worked ?

Thank you, I never thought to redo the NVFLASH.
Now, the NVFLASH opened a windows for a second or less when I told it to run. Is that normal?
And the APX drivers are installed correctly because I have been going from twrp to cwm and back without a problem.
I will try it again when I get home because my brother in law doesn't have a working pc. Will let you know and let me know about the NVFLASH please. Thank you

Forgot to mention, the Window that opens on NVFLASH closes in less than a second so I cannot read it.
Awesome work Mazout! I'll try out this method after my exams are over, Also, do you want a new Userthread for this Dualboot system or will you use the older one?

A: Because, I have seen some of you guys are so lazy to scroll down a bit to read this as this is essential post I think. And further more, I don't want you to brick your phone because of your lack of reading skill .
4. Flash the Slimkat build from CWM 5.x
5. After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the Slimkat ROM again - use the button combo to get into TWRP if it doesn't do it automatically.
Q: Why doesn't this have Focal?
A: Because Focal is not available on Slimkat.

Okay, The first Kitkat build is up. Go to my Goo.im, download and enjoy everyone! I need you to test the Slimcenter OTA updater for the next update also . Stay tuned!
Remember to follow the OPs tho, especially the first one about FAQ. You have to carefully follow the procedure to flash this ROM: Heimdall oneclick back to BML and then flash it. Remember to do a full wipe!
One more: for stability, OC and UV are not recommended. I might revert those 2 features in the next build.
thank you. just thank you. (tries not to cry)( old phone has more life left)

Hmm weird, lets me check the build again, or I might upload my previous build insted (w/o ota support). Interesting that the only change in this build compare to previous one running on mine is OTA suport and it was cleaner build (on mine was dirty one).
Oh wait, did u flash the build again via TWRP? If not, I am sorry that I forgot telling ya that once u r in TWRP, u have to flash it again (u know how to use TWRP rite?)
Anw, u can still heimdall again n flash slimbean tho so dunt worry

Did u flash the ROM again in TWRP? I mean:
1. Copy the ROM to sdcard then Heimdall BML kernel
2. Full wipe except sdcard and flash Slimkat build
3. After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the build again.
4. Reboot.

Use the Combo volume + volume - and power button to boot into Recovery tho. If u wiped b4 heimdall then after flashing slimkat, it should bring u into TWRP. that was weird unless u hadn't wiped :/.
now again:
- installed fresh 2.3.6.
- installed AntonX-Basic_with_a_twist-v1.1.0-OC_UV
- wait 5~ minute on boot logo !!
- boot on cwm and install your rom
- auto reboot into TWRP
- install rom again
- wipe
- Reboot
- Phone boot into KitKat
Thank You !!!
jeez! no dao!
its working for me!
i just cant take screen shot! but it works promise DDDDD

I added the right procedure onto OP anyway so everyone else should follow it easier. And FYI, u should have OTA updater works from now on for updating the ROM in future. U should receive a notification automatically everytime I upload a new build then. One more thing I have to do is finding a way to include Changelog and mayb look over GPS then .

I'm gonna exclude the OC and UV from the next update anw. It causes more trouble to the stability than it helps on the battery tho. Plus, it's good to let the phone rest for a while, 15 to 30 seconds after every boot finishes to ensure that u won't have freeze/reboot afterwards. and ye. Slimkat just hit the Beta phrase yet, features are slowly merged tho so stay tuned for OTA gift .
Thank you so much for is dao!
OTA works great. Is ART functioning? My SELinux status says Enforcing. Is that a problem?

This is an unofficial ROM which is built from source by using portions from Nikez' Kernel code, Evervolv's Legacy code, HTC device and vendor files.
Built for pure testing purposes.
Don't blame me if you brick your device.
Credits:
PA TEAM for their great work and allowing me to build the ROM!
EVERVOLV TEAM for the legacy codes and toolbox, especially Thomas Lehner -- without his talents the birth of Lollipop for our device would have been much harder!
Nikez for the kernel, libs, and for being a magician!
madmaxx82 for 4eXT Touch Recovery!
chainfire for SuperSU!
And all those individuals/teams who I might have missed!
My special thanks to walter79, macs18max, azzam, myself5, Robbie P and everyone else from HD24Ever Team for their recent support with helping out and getting me on track with developing on Android 5.
What's working:
Audio
Display
3G/Mobile Data/Telephony/SMS
Bluetooth
WIFI
ADB connection
USB Mass Storage
Torch (partially)
Not working:
Camera (Force close)
GPS (not sure about this)
Please be aware that the ROM might occasionally reboot or bring a FC. In that case it would be kind of you to share as many reproduction information as possible (e.g. logcat, radio logcat, dmesg, last kmesg).
General hints:
The ROM is currently under development and in its very early alpha stages.
The ROM is no longer installed to your phone's internal memory. From now on we use "DirectSD" which will be the new way of running Android 5 Lollipop on our device.
Before installing this ROM you are required to switch to a new custom hboot for LP which has a modified memory layout -> system/cache/data (5/5/427); This will allow the ROM to store the ART/dalvik-cache on the phone's internal memory (follow instructions on how to change the hboot for LP below).
Furthermore you need to create two sd-ext partitions on your SD-card AND also a SWAP partition besides the remaining FAT partition -- so in the end you will have three partitions (please exactly follow the instructions below, otherwise the ROM won't boot!).
For good overall performance use a fast SD-card (e.g. class 6 or even higher).
Before flashing SU or GAPPS you have to flash the new 4eXT Touch Recovery for LP from the link below.
Don't even think of asking when this ROM is ready for daily use..
Please keep this thread on-topic, here is a Q&A thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com//htc-desire/help/qa-paranoidandroid-5-0-alpha-t3015265
How to create sd-ext partitions on your SD card:
Make a backup by copying all contents of your SD card to your computer
Read this guide by @abaaaabbbb63 (4ext method): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125513
In case that you use 4eXT Recovery, select 1024mb for sd-ext1, chose something between 1024mb and 4096mb for sd-ext2 (you can size it as you like depending on how much space you want for apps), and create a swap partition of 512mb.
After the sd-ext partitions have been formatted, you can also format the remaining FAT partition on the SD card, and then add back your backupd files
How to change the hboot for Lollipop:
Download this file: PB99IMG_Lollipop_5_5_427.zip and make sure that the md5 checksum 93e00900cb7b55e1c9702be2167caafd is the same
Rename the file into PB99IMG.zip and place it into the root folder of your SD card
Reboot with volume down button pressed
Confirm the update with volume up and reboot into recovery
Format all partitions except for SD-card
Step-by-step ROM and GAPPS "permanent" installation:
Make a backup of your current ROM in recovery
Copy the new hboot for Lollipop to your SD-card (PB99IMG.zip; find more details one section above)
Reboot and confirm with Volume up to update the hboot (in case of problems: select clear storage)
Reboot into recovery and do a full wipe by formatting all partitions except for SD-card
Flash the new 4eXT Touch Recovery for Android 5 and again reboot into recovery (Note: the new 4eXT recovery has a "bug" which will no longer allow you to view the correct information about the sd-ext1/sd-ext2 partitions. Actually, sd-ext1 has become /system and sd-ext2 is now /data. Got it?!)
Flash the ROM and GAPPS; optional step: flash SU if root access is required
Boot the ROM and let it settle down for a few minutes
Enable WIFI; before adding your G account do a hot reboot (this is really important to allow the WIFI connection to properly operate)!
After rebooting the ROM add your G account
NOTE: In case that the ROM should freeze at the HTC splash screen, please pull the battery and turn it on -- then it should boot up normally! (I am not sure if this occurs only on my "old" Desire.. maybe a sign of ageing.. :/ )
Help! I want to get back to my previous ROM. So how can I revert things, like hboot and recovery?:
Get the AlphaRev Jelly hboot (250/5/182) from here and follow the instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48063010&postcount=22 and make sure that the md5 checksum is the same
Now let's do the PB99IMG method again for flashing the 4eXT recovery; get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751258
Changelog:

New feature: CM Themes Engine
New feature: AppOps
1st test version with K3 (2015-05-31)
Kernel 3.0.101 for Lollipop: AWESOME! Credits go to all k3 devs (Nikez, Thomas, marc1706, Mustaavalkosta, elginsk8r, sakindia123, NiharG15 and everyone else who contributed)
Use external SWAP on SD to improve responsiveness! This will allow you to use GAPPS without getting a sluggish ROM! Therefore you have to repartition your SD card and create a SWAP partition (512MB) after adding the two sd-ext partitions for SYSTEM (1GB) and DATA (4GB).
If you agree with the above terms,
Download ROM: http://www.mediafire.com/download/qtu102kdwfaiv4x/pa_bravo-5.0-ALPHA2-20150531.zip
md5sum - d49c1da8b4a60b1c0ac8c2555fca7f78
Download custom hboot for Lollipop: PB99IMG_Lollipop_5_5_427.zip
Download 4EXT Touch Recovery for Lollipop: 4ext-touch-recovery-for-LP.zip kudos @walter79
Note: this recovery has a small "bug" which will no longer allow you to view the correct information about the sd-ext1/sd-ext2 partitions. Actually, sd-ext1 has become /system and sd-ext2 is now /data.
Download SuperSU for root permission: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
Download my "slimmed" PA GAPPS 5.0.1 RC4 - Pico Modular Package (without SetupWizard/PartnerSetup): http://d-h.st/Eey
Or get any official or unofficial 5.0 GApps from here:
1) PA GApps http://d-h.st/users/TKruzze/?fld_id=41940#files (pick the one with 'Proper DPI')
2) Slim zero GApps http://104.236.22.120/gapps/lollipop/5.0/ (pick the one with '42M')
IMPORTANT:
Please read all posts in this thread and use the search before you post anything. If your question or feedback does not contribute to the further development of this ROM, then please use the Q&A thread instead.
I don't reply to support inquiries via PM.
That's all I am asking for at the moment!
And have a nice day!

Please attach recovery.log to check if something went wrong during installation.
248mb free out of 250 on system is to be expected. The logical explanation is that 4ext recovery is too old. It has no SELinux support and cannot read the new filesystem that LP requires. With LP we are no longer using yaffs2, but ext4 on /system and /data.
Edit: Although flashin with 4ext and twrp worked out, I think that we also require a newer recovery the sooner or later.

Candy5 is in early stages and will inherit CyanogenMod bugs and issues. But some we have resolved ourselves.
The base has been tested and passed most users needs for a Daily Driver.

[DISCONTINUED][ROM][5.1.1] Candy 5 - Skyrocket, ROM for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727
Contributors
NoSpamDan, gimmeitorilltell
ROM OS Version: 5.1.x Lollipop
ROM Kernel: Linux 3.0.x
Version Information
Status: No Longer Updated
Created 2015-03-02
Last Updated 2016-11-15
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS and DOWNLOADS
Installation for 5.1.X (Candy5 V2.X):
Download Candy5.zip
Download 5.1 Gapps (optional)
Place Candy5.zip on phone's memory or SD card
Boot into recovery. You need a newer version for lollipop. Tested with TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery linked below.
Make a nandroid backup.
Make sure you're on one of these radios or newer for now: I727:UCMC1|I727R:UXUMA7
Full wipe (Dalvik Cache, Cache, System, Factory Data Reset)
Flash Candy5.zip
Flash GApps if desired ***
Reboot, and let the ROM boot up and settle for 5-10 minutes.
Enjoy!
Issues? Post a logcat on Pastebin, link to it here, and provide as many details as possible, such as ROM version, GApps used, radio/modem, cell provider, or anything relevant to the problem or how to duplicate the issue.
TWRP Recovery:
TWRP 2.8.7.0 with F2FS support in IMG, TAR and ZIP formats. Thanks to @javelinanddart for compiling these.
5.1.X:
ROM:
candy5-release.v4.1-20151030-UNOFFICIAL-skyrocket.zip
Don't use the BasketBuild OTAs just yet. I'll un-hide the link when the OTA builds are good again:
Candy ROMs are now built weekly and can be found in the CandyRoms BasketBuild Skyrocket folder
GApps:
Use TK PIco GApps from AndroidFileHost | BasketBuild
(Main TK GApps thread on XDA)
(*** You may use a 5.1 GApps package of your choice, but be wary of large GApps packages. It's normally better on the Skyrocket to install a very small GApps package and get the rest of the Google Apps from the Play Store...)
Please give first boot several minutes to complete.
* If you use Hangouts Dialer and find you lose audio after using it, you can try flashing this audio patch. (Credit goes to @bryan2894.)
=================
Previous builds have been removed from here, but they're still on my AndroidFileHost.com account or CandyRoms' AndroidFileHost.com account.

Candy5 has the CM Theme Engine, so appearances can widely vary. Here is stock...

Need alot more info
Where you already rooted,if so with what recovery.Twrp of phhilz ,ect ( see Vincom's page at beginning of development page BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING } Did you install rom from TWRP or from phone itself with a rom manager or reboot to recovory. You also could have download bad file. Have you installed a custom rom before and what recovery did you use and what rom are you running.. Sorry about the questions but it really helps everyone here to help you. Thanks

You need to be rooted to install a custom recovery. @vincom's Skyrocket One-Stop Reference Sticky is linked in my signature, and has everything you need for rooting, recovery, flashing, radios, and even the stock ROMs to reset your device to stock.
I have installed and tested both TWRP and the ROM myself, so I know both are OK.

NEW BUILD!
OK, here we go...
An updated build has been posted in the ROM download link in the OP. I think you guys are gonna like this!
It includes:
BLN (Button Light Notificaiton) support, and it can be disabled if you want in the Settings menu! (Sorry no per-app control right now.) Thanks to @gimmeitorilltell!
Power-off charging is fixed, along with animated images during charge. So if your phone dies, you can charge it back up without issue!
App2sd is back!
GO GET SOME YUMMY CANDY! :good:
Hi NoSpamDan, i saw you made a Candy Rom build which i think was very cool when i tested it on Kitkat last year. So i decide to get this one instead of Slim LP. Would it be possible to have both roms support the new partition layout ? Thank for your hardwork. Hope you continue for some more great update.
Proudly presenting Marshmallow for the HTC Desire!
This is an unofficial ROM built from source by using portions from Nikez' Kernel code, Evervolv's Legacy code, HTC device and vendor files.

BeanStalk Change log
Change log can also be found from within the ROM by going into settings menu -> about phone -> about beanstalk -> changelog
* Make a backup of your current ROM incl. app data, and then copy all contents of your SD card to your computer.
* Download ROM and additional stuff from the links above: boot.img (kernel), recovery-bravo-twrp-2.8.7.0.img (recovery for M) and PB99IMG.zip (hboot for Android 5 and 6).
* Install Android SDK on your computer (we will need later the fastboot tool to accomplish the rom installation).
* Switch to custom hboot for M by copying the PB99IMG.zip into the root folder in your sdcard.
* Reboot to bootloader screen and wait for the prompt to apply the update.
* Say yes to apply the update, say yes to reboot and immediately hold the vol down key pressed.
* Boot to recovery and wipe all partitions and reboot recovery.
* Follow this guide to properly format & partition your SD card (4ext method): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125513 Credits @abaaaabbbb63. You are required to create two ext4-partitions( sd-ext1 at 1GB and sd-ext2 at 1.5GB) and also create a swap partition at 512mb (to gain better overall performance).
* Toggle USB storage to copy the ROM from above to sdcard.
* Properly eject the sdcard from your computer and then disconnect from USB in recovery.
* In recovery select reboot to bootloader.
* Ensure that you can access your device via fastboot (fastboot devices).
* Now the time has come to boot TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery for Marshmallow. You are not required to install TWRP to become your permanent recovery. However, even if you want to, your attempt will miserably fail due to its big size (7.1MB). The recovery partition in our Desire is limited to 5MB.
* Copy both, recovery image and boot.img to the platform-tools folder in your Android-SDK.
* To boot recovery via fastboot use the following terminal commands:
Example output:
Code:
[email protected] ~ $ cd android-sdk/platform-tools/
[email protected] ~/android-sdk/platform-tools $ su
Password:
Lenovo-G710 platform-tools # fastboot boot recovery-bravo-twrp-2.8.7.0.img
< waiting for device >
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.053s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.000s]
finished. total time: 1.054s
* Now your phone should automatically boot TWRP. Please be aware that this recovery isn't very stable. In case that it gets stuck during the flashing of the rom, you will have to repeat boot up of TWRP and also need to wipe all partitions except for SD (TWRP > Wipe > Advanced Wipe.
* Select install in TWRP to flash the ROM.
* When it is complete select restart system.
* Unfortunately, it won't boot up yet. This is because the kernel couldn't be installed due to unknown reasons. We need to use fastboot to flash the boot.img which is in place in your platform-tools folder.
Example output:
Code:
Lenovo-G710 platform-tools # fastboot flash boot boot.img
< waiting for device >
sending 'boot' (3146 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.488s]
writing 'boot'...
finished. total time: 0.489s
* Select 'Reboot' from fastboot menu
* Wait for the rom to make dex2oat compilation (5-10min) and enjoy BeanStalk goodness. In the rare case that it gets stuck during boot time, just remove the battery and this time restart without USB cable plugged.

Look up what is the default gateway of your router and use it instead of the IP in my example (however, in many cases a router uses the 192.168.0.1 as in my example below).
Set up your WiFi
Go to the Developer options and open "Custom default gateway"
Save the IP address of your default gateway, afterwards confirm root permissions.

I would try it as it is not my main phone
But I got scared at the point of an marshmallow hboot version, this will replace the Android 2 one, so am I able to get back to Kitkat after testing?

As soon as you want to go back, get a suitable hboot for kitkat, e.g. Alpharev Jelly (250/5/182), from here: http://d-h.st/Cde

I have already downloaded the files, but got no time to go through the process.
I will report back as soon as I had a chance to try it out.
Never thought that Desire will be back with MM, great work whatever is working or not.
Thank you!
Thanks spezi77! I want to try this ROM, but I can't since the HTC Desire fastboot is not working with Windows 10 (USB issue). I'll try to setup a Windows 7 virtual machine. Does it need 2 ext4 partitions in the SD card?

I managed to use fastboot using an Ubuntu CD, but I'm stuck in the booting of TWRP recovery, it stays forever in a blue screen with the word "teamwin". I tried like 10 times getting the same result.

Hmm, as mentioned TWRP sometimes fails to boot up
(maybe a Kernel issue). But for me it worked in 3 out of 5 attempts.

Strange, as a last resort you could try this 4ext recovery which has been modified for LP.

I did and was able to boot up TWRP (3 out of 5 like you described)
But flashing never worked, everytime TWRP locked up after a few seconds. Tried about 10 times, and everytime it get stuckafter 5 to 60 Seconds without success.
