Hi all, i have custom rom jellyShot 2.8 (4.2.1) on my Nexus S... with custom kernel...there is a problem with my phone... while playing games the touchscreen and hardware keys become non responsive... but game keeps running... i have to pull out battery every time... Devs said that is bcoz kernel...i hv tried many other Custom kernel with many custom roms... but when i was on stock rom didnt faced that issue....
So i need Link on Stock Kernel for my 4.2.1 rom
as well as link of Stock rom for my Nexus S... both flashable via CWM recovery...
Thanks...

Problem persists in v2.1?
Show dev logcats.
Or you are running too heavy games for NS..
Only you are moaning about that problem
Can some users comment on the performance of the 4.2 ROM's out there. How to they compare to EOS3.

Running CM-nightly on MZ601, I can not see any difference in performance between EOS and CM.
have tried all 4.2 roms. cm and eos are nearly same. Orca is smoother with slightly more bugs.

To quite honest with you I thought Eos 4 was a flop compared to Eos 3. That was until I installed "Elemental X" kernel. Now it has the performance that it desperately needed, even with animation added!!!

I'm on dreamcwli's My Android with Elemental X 0.7 and it gives the best performance that I've ever had on my Xoom.
Haven't tried Orca as I thought it would be too bloated, surprised to hear its running so well, good, the more roms the better.
But generally a near stock ROM is fine for me on my tab

I'm running cm10.1.. Really fast and responsive..I'm running v6 supercharger scripts and overclocked to 1500 mhz.. Only problem I have is space, I could barely fit a 160 mb Rom with no room for gapps. .. Does anyone know how to increase the size of the system partition??

You cannot change the system partition.
Ensure that you are using the appropriate Gapps for the ROM and not just the standard ones

I am using EOS4 190 nightly with Elemental X 0.8 and it works very well. The newer Elemental X kernals seem a little laggier to me.
Yeah I think I had tried one of the first nightlies for 10.1 back in January and noticed a lot of lag, but April nightlies seem just as fast as 10.0 pretty much. YMMV.
The navbar still drives me nuts but I'm working on that.

Gingerbread uses less ram as a system, and is a lot lighter in everything. So there's more ram left for the game

CM 10.1 with these settings makes a big difference.

Can play all my games just fine on CM10 using devil kernel. Pretty sure other 4.1.2 based roms would do just fine.
Devil kernel is supported on 4.1? Sauce please

Considering a Unlocked Nexus S new for a friend on T-Mobile. Saw there is a stable CM10.1.2 release for it and wondering how well it runs being that the phone is 1Ghz and only 512MB ram. My friend is new to smartphones and wont be gaming or doing anything intense. But does it handle browsing and GPS ok?
Thanks
Never heard of cm10.1.2? My nexus s is running 4.2.2 and is really smooth. I never had any problems with 4.2.2 on optimus g even GPS works good for me.

This is just a link to cyanogenmod wiki.. and says nothing about 10.1.2... It's strange that their nightlies (the most current versions available) are only 10.1 and not 10.1.2.. but thanks, you're awesome!!

It runs well out of the box, no bugs whatsoever. The default launcher is great replace it with nova for more customization or with a simpler launcher like smart launcher for more free memory and better multitasking.

10.1.2 fixes a Master Key vulnerability.
http://www.androidauthority.com/cya...cond-master-key-android-vulnerability-243328/
Flashed 10.1.2 yesterday, performance is quite smooth and phone is very responsive. Got a total of 396MB RAM with stock kernel.
I must admit i was a little sceptical it runs wery smoothly. At this moment, only two reboots but blame it on me because i overclocked.

Stable CM 10.1.2 with stock kernel installed after full wipe/full format:
same problems as the nightlies, lags, reboots, slow and painful sometimes... like waiting for nothing in manya apps and getting the message that allows you to kill the app even if you're not multitasking at all.
Unusable and most of all you can't run it for days without rebooting.
