What is the easiest way to achieve free Hotspot /Tether Running the latest Viper build?
I notice the native app still asks me to agree to Verizon's service /fee.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Is this a real question? Once it's rooted you can do practically anything you want.

Not so fast. The Aria community still can't get any wifi hotspot apps working. We believe AT&T has done some fooling around with the kernel to prevent these apps from working. We do have tethering working over USB though.
First off, I am a complete noob, please, reply accordingly.
Say, I have an application, which requires wifi to be connected in order to work. If I start it without wifi it just wouldn't work. I tried to change permissions and remove "check wifi status" permission but this only crashes the application.
Now the question, is possible to decompile the apk and remove wifi state check?
Thanks
I am also looking for the solution to this problem so I can stream live tv using the TWC TV app over mobile data.

Yep, my problem is very similar.
Were you able to find a solution, or to find out that no solution is possible. I can't believe that guys in this thread, who know everything can't just tell us "it's impossible" or 'it's possible, just do so and so".

Hey guys,
Here's what, my phone manages to establish a connection with my computer just fine, as it is able to with other devices. But apparently, it does NOT share my 3g while it's at it. I guess it's a common problem?
MB865, Vodafone 3g...
Oh and bluetooth tethering does not work either(similarly)

I'm not calling you a noob or any other name like that. Just search the development thread for "enable built in WiFi hot spot" and there it is. I literally found it in seconds, and you can too.

The only way that I know of to tether without root is to pay your carrier a fee (most probably a monthly fee) to enable it for you.
There are apps in the playstore that are supposed to work, but I haven't tried any so I can't say how well they work.

NUMA is my main ROM and I haven't had any problems tethering with it. It should be enabled by default, though. Are you using the native tethering app?

WiFi or USB? I've only used WiFi, but not in a while so I'll double check it when I get home in a couple of hours. As far as USB tethering goes, I may be wrong but I think you'd have to have something installed on your computer that supports it. A friend of mine uses PDAnet on both his phone and PC to USB tether his desktop but I don't know if something like that is required.

Hey guys. Can some one please tell me what i should do on my Nexus to get it to connect to the PS3?
So I've scoured the forums looking for my exact problem but to no avail. I am trying to connect my wifi hotspot to my ps3 to watch netflix basically. I can get the wifi connected from phone to computer with no problem (thats what im using now). However, when i scan my PS3 for wifi signals, the only thing thats comes up are the usual wifi signals from the neioghbors. I've tried all the settings i can find on the web but nothing works, like changing device info to Optimus 2 and softap. I'm using a rooted Nexus with the Wifi tether app. under Settings, Change device, i dont see my phone make or madel. Maybe that has something to do with it. I have no idea... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
A guy who just wants to watch netflix on his stupid ps3

Sorry I should have added that the wifi hotspot that comes with my phone only works if I subscribe to it, adding extra to my bill. It turns on yes but no data is transferred that way.

Can anyone confirm their foxfi tethering is still working with Sprint? Mine was working and recently started failing. I'm trying to determine if it's Sprint or my phone that broke it. Thx
Nevermind, it's working again. The setup I made on my phone was reset somehow.

Are u trying to get free tethering?
As long as your rooted, you should be able to manipulate tethering.

I have Sprint unlimited data. All I do is use Sql editor to edit the Apn settings. Only because on Sprint it's greyed out. But i have no issues. Nothing beats the native hotspot.
