Hi all!
I have to make a very very simple app for iOS/Android. The objective is to launch a web site when the app start.
Can I use Phonegap? I need a plugin o what is the function to launch url?
Otherwise there are websites for building apps that given the url, they create in automatically the app that launches it?
Thanks for you help!!!!

Hi there,
I just published a new application on Android Market, VocalWall.
With this app you can publish your VocalStatus on facebook, share your friends in real time with your thoughts.
It's free, fully integrated with facebook and very easy to operate.
This is my first app on android, I would be happy to get your inputs.
Thanks,
Meir
Hi All,
Complete newbie to this forum and not an app developer... I simply come up with ideas and get people far more capable than me to develop them!
An associate has asked me if it would be possible to create an app with the following functionality:
1. Utilise Google Map UI.
2. Search by event type.... drop down list.
3. Update events available.
4. Provide info on event when marker is tapped.
My background is in games and productivity apps... hence my post here.
I know how to integrate GMaps in app... so no issue there. The question is how to include the functionality of displaying events as markers (colour coded to type of event possibly?) based on a defined list, including search - filter - display function and how to define the list of events.
This is a complete brainstorm at the moment so any comments would be great!
Thanks everyone! :good:
Hi. I want to make a simple Android app but I have no programming experience.
I want to make an app that categorizes Android games and I choose the games in each category. It's basically like a list of games in different categories and they lead to the game page on the Google Play Store.
How hard would it be to make an app like this for someone with no coding/programming knowledge? And any tips on what I should learn in order to make this app?

You can do it yourself very easily using a tool such as WiziApp.
You will need a Wordpress blog where you can install plugins (therefore wordpress.com is excluded, but any cheap shared hosting would be enough), add the game categories as blog categories, and then add games. Wiziapp would then generate an app for you. Data is taken online, so a permament Internet connection is required while using your app. But this should be no problem for you because you want people to go to Google Play anyway.
Hi XDA community! I just updated an application that lets your friends know when you arrive at your destination so they don't have to call you while you drive.
I made this app for personal use, because I use this feature a lot. It's more convenient to have an app that replies with your current location, remaining distance and approximative time of arrival than to talk on the phone or write a text message while you drive.
The application is completely free, open source and without ads.
You can find screens, video demo, source code and apk on Github at: https://github.com/micku7zu/Locate-driver
Or you can install it from the Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.micutu.locatedriver
The app is simple to use, just set a keyword, a destination and hit start. You can close the app after that, even restart the phone, the app will not drain battery because it is not opened in the background. It opens only when an SMS is received, checks for keyword, and if the keyword match, tries to get the location, responds to the SMS then it is closed again until next message.
I hope my app will improve your everyday life!
Feedback appreciated!

Hello, I've been learning web design for a while now, I decided to move a bit into android app development. I just uploaded my first app to Play Store. It is mobile html editor which lets you create and edit Html files on your mobile and then live-preview it in the in-app browser. It also a feature for you to type a website and get the source-code of it. One can also learn basic web design skills using the 'learn to code feature. I'll be glad if you can download it and let me know what you thing about it.
Here's the link to it.

Or you can search for 'TrebEdit Html editor' on Google Play store.
Thank you.
