Has the horizontal lines issue during video playback been fixed? - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recall seeing postings from users reporting that under KK, they saw horizontal lines appearing on the screen during video playback. It seems that while the 10.1 2014 still has this problem, Samsung has fixed it for the PRO 12.2. Can anybody please confirm that? Thanks.

I've had a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Wifi only, international LTE version, and two separate Note Pro 12.2 tablets. None of them have had lines with video playback in any app. Including video player, mx player, browser, youtube, mkv, mp4, screen mirror, etc. If they did, I'd return/exchange as a defective item.

No flickering or line issues on the two Note Pro's that I've owned either. Agree that it's likely defective units and not a software issue impacting all of them.

Horizontal lines in MTS files on Android

When playing MTS files from my Sony HandyCam on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 using MX Player, I get horizontal lines that degrade the quality of the video. I tried some other Android players and they were even worse. I've sometimes seen a similar thing in Windows Media Player on my Win8.1 computer. In researching it, I'm finding that it seems to be a problem going back quite a ways that may be related to the file format more than any particular device. It also seems it may have to do with interlacing. Has anyone seen this in MX Player with MTS files? There is a setting that indicates you can deinterlace, but it only works with the SW Decoder, which I turned on, but then there is a different problem - choppy playback (always) and distorted images (at times). I'm hoping for a better solution. Is there one?

As you said Deinterlacing will only works with SW. SW decoder uses ffmpeg. So, it may render well in many occasions. But, it needs lot of cpu power. So, it may laggy in high definition videos (depends up on your hardware).
Both H/W & H/W+ uses system decoders. So, MX Player's control over it is very limited.

Galaxy S5e video playback choppy

Hi all,
I have noticed since I got this tablet that when watching videos of all kinds maybe every 30 seconds or so part of the screen will go "blocky" until the picture in the video changes and it clears.
This happens on music videos downloaded from Xtendamix and also files decoded with Handbrake.
Is it an issue with MX player or the tablet itself?
Same files play perfectly on my laptop and my Huawei P30 Pro.
Thanks

Mi box s 4k and on all Xiaomi devices I get video pixelation issue?

Broken H.264 (avc) codec bug!
Problems:
0. Artifacts and ghosting
1. There is a shadow left from the last image onto a black scene that comes after.
2. There is a trailing edge of every lighted scene around the picture.
3. The problem is wide, not only related to single app.
I did notice on Xiaomi devices pixelation on videos.
I have mi box s 4k and chromecast ultra while there is no pixelation for the same video for chromecast ultra I'm getting pixelation issue for mi box s 4k and redmi note 8 pro.
This issue I did notice it for local videos and youtube app (I didn't notice for netflix).
So I did try some methods my self. switching to sw decoding on mx player got pixelation fixed but this isn't precise solution cuz I did read somewhere that hdr is gone for sw decoding and youtube app problem stays.
For Xiaomi devices I did find a video on YouTube. so on mine redmi note 8 pro I did as the video told.
the video did told me to turn on hw overlays so I did turn it on and I got pixelation fixed!!!
youtube .com/watch?v=MGxh2vCmR1E
But for mi box When I turn on disable hw overlays I'm getting no screen I'm only getting audio what could be the cause of this could someone help me to turn this on?
Or is there any other solution how I can fix the pixelation?
Update:
İn mi box s 4k There is no pixelation in apps like netflix!!! but vlc, mx player and chromecast built-in playing local video file is the issue getting pixelation in hw decoder!
imgur. com/a/OO2R8VI
Example:
Hw decoder: imgur. com/US8Xzor
Sw decoder: imgur. com/fUzwKvw
You can see white line in hw decoder.
İn sw decoder the white lines pixelation is fixed.
Update 2:
Someone told me this is a known broken H.264 codec bug! (avc bug, h.264 and x264) I think that person is right! I did encode my video to H.265 and the pixelation was gone!!!
Does someone When did this problem start?
İt is aggravating I hope Xiaomi will fix this problem soon.

Split Video with MX Player TV - LETV X3 Series

Please can any one help. Issue reported to [email protected] on 22 Feb, with no response / resolution apart from acknowledged ticket #686328
App works fine and sound seems to be fine, but video is distorted, appears as if whole video split in to two halfs some on left and some right, put together full image
Please see attached screenshot and defect report
older series / voot videos are playing fine, MX player originals (recent) seem to have issue with split/double screen
Thank you MX Support for solving the issue

Question MX Player Pro full screen

Hi everyone,
When I watch a video using MX Player Pro, the screen stops before the notch and nothing I do will bring it over it.
Youtube is able to go over so it seems it's a software issue, has anyone been able to solve it?
Thanks!
I commented on a similar question in another thread....
Play full-screen video?
Hello. I just saw that apps like Prime Video or HBO Max, do not play the videos in full screen leaving the area where the camera is with a large black margin. On the contrary, YouTube or Netflix do occupy the entire screen. Do you know if there...
forum.xda-developers.com
I also bought mxplayer pro but i switched to vlc waiting developers to correct their mistake
if your phone is rooted you can use Aspo Mods and turn off ignore the camera cutout and all videos etc now have full screen
