LG G2 Roms - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if anybody is working on any new Rom's for the LG G2?
I've only seen two so far that are based on LG's layout (OptimusRs and Cloudy) and I'm wondering if anybody else is trying something.

Seriously ???

Yeah I've installed all of those....... But they are not like OptimusRs and Cloudy. I forget what they're called, but they have different layout. All of those are like Google. I was wondering about ROMs based on the g2 layout.

Now someone else may understand you Or still not
The mentioned roms are both based on LG G Pro 2 stock roms (ported to G2)
What exactly are you looking for?

Are you looking for a specific android version e.g. 4.4.2 or a built in feature / app / launcher ?

I'm searching from some JB AOSP rom. Clean without any mod or tunning.
Yes, for S4.
What is the link?
Thanks.
Too many links to post but you got CM10&10.1, AOKP, Blackbean, DarkJelly.
But CM and others are tweaked roms. Not exist a clean & basic AOSP rom?

CM is the cleanest one you can get, nobody has done a pure AOSP rom and don't see much point in it myself but then I already find CM a bit plan anyway. Just give it a try you might just like it and it not like you have to use said tweaks.
Indeed, theres little to no point with a pure aosp roms. Hardly anyone wants that, it doesnt make any sense when the "tweaked" ones are so much better.
If you want a pure aosp rom, you'll probably have to build it yourself.
I'm running the latest CM10 nightly and like it. Too me, CM is the closest you'll get to pure AOSP without buying a Nexus. I recommend trying it out.

Thanks!
Is there any official or unofficial site to download AOSP roms? CM10.1 has laggy when touch, so frustrating...

Not sure if srs
Oneplus releases aosp ROM. Users ask for a port of aosp ROM?
Why not just use an aosp ROM we already have?

Is there something available in the CM11 builds for the G2 that's not available in the CM11 builds for hammerhead?
Na they're both poo compared to aosp

CM11 is CM11. Only difference is the device tree (drivers etc).. All functions are identical. As with most large development teams, they have one master branch with all teh core features then just device trees for each device to make the ROM work.
CM11s is slightly different though as it is only for the OnePlus and has some unique features. Porting a pre-built ROM is always more problematic than compiling one from code though
I asked the question but I already knew the answer.

Ah ok.
CM11 for G2 is the same as CM11 for N5
CM11s port for G2 (From OnePlus) is different to CM11 for N5

ROMs with stock ROM like audio?

Which custom ROMs have loud headphone audio like the stock ROM?
I am not interested in installing custom kernel or any sort of audio mod/tweak.
Sent from my Moto G using Tapatalk
none
no custom room comes close to stock when it comes to audio.
And besides, if you want a custom rom, you'll have to install a 3rd party kernel anyway.

Because the stock one won't boot them, if it's not something based on stock rom.

A custom ROM, it will probably need a 3rd party kernel too, that's what I meant.
I installed stock Rom with Gravity Box and so far very happy with it. As long as this works with future updates I don't need a custom Rom.

Port international lollipop?

Just out of curiosity would it be possible to port over the international version of lollipop?
not without a kernel for our variant

The AOSP based CM12 will probably work better than the actual lollipop update. I'm running it on my G3 and it works great. It's like using a mini Nexus 6. I don't use my G3 and much as my Nexus but having the ui be the same is always nice.

I do miss the camera app that LG has but even with google camera it works great.
Its okay. Not the best. The camera seems better on the proper firmware.. The why I was hoping we could port it.. But doesn't look possible since it relys on LGs code.

What's the latest greatest ROM everyone is using for the Idol 3?

I rooted my 6045O last night and I'm excited to try a ROM on this phone. I seen the big thread on the CyanogenMod 12.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/ido...om-cyanogenmod-12-1-alcatel-onetouch-t3225533
But I wanna make sure it's the best ROM for this phone.
you cant read idol 3 section?
Wow thanks for being friendly to the new guy. As I stated, I seen the big thread on the CyanogenMod 12.1. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a better ROM that you guys might know of before I put time into learning about that one.

I'm not for sure either.great work on all though.I'm leaning toward the dcz rom cause from my understanding its fast, smooth and I like stock style roms.
I didn't see a DCZ thread?

If you gonna flash a ROM know that besides dcz, only fully working ROM is cm12.1 also I'm using 60450
Ok so those are my options. Thanks. Do you know any pros/cons of one vs the other?

Well do you want stock ROM with overclock kernel(DCZ) vs the beauty and customization of cyanogenmod?
All dcz rom is a almost fully debloated stock ROM and custom kernel made by team adrv.

If the stock rom did not have such lag I'd suggest the majority stick with it unless you had a specific reason not to. Since it DOES have lag, I'd suggest the i806/DCZ rom since it is a version of stock that should eliminate the lag and work fully with the hardware. All the other rom's have issues of one type or another.
Resurrection Remix still has several things wrong..the camera off the top of my head. CM12.1 still has issues. Currently the cm12.1 dev does not have the device in hand...neither does the resurrection remix dev....working on rom's without the device is similar to driving blindfolded. You are guaranteed to get SOMEWHERE but it may not be where you want to be.
There are only 3 real roms available other than original stock and I HIGHLY recommend you backup your stock with twrp so you can go back to it for system updates. Why are the system updates so important if you are on another rom? They are the only way you can get modem driver mods/improvements among other things.
I'm not sure which I'd prefer at the moment. Guess I'll just read lol

Cm 12.1 (10/29) is most stable on my idol 3 (6045i). Resurrection Remix is not stable. Random reboots, lag and speakers and cam don't work.

Thanks for the tips. I do like performance and stability over anything. So I'll check out DCZ. I've already backed up stock.
