Second, device says there is no internal sd. I wrote the code given in thread to terminal with su permissions but it says device or resource busy. Can anybody help?
Edit: First q solved but another one appeared. Camera is stopping.

I have to wait till I find an sd card I think
What about camera? Do you know something about why it is stopping?
No, but hopefully in the next update fixes

Because it can't access the internal storage
ooo thanks
I think you can flash any zip from adb sideloader. You don't need sd card for that purpose.
Problem solved, thanks I flashed camera and torch zip files, and ran the command on the thread

I am running rushdroid now with a backup. I would like to try ThaiZ 2.7, but I'm out of space on my internal sd. Can I save ThaiZ to my ext. sd and flash it from there with cwm?

Yes, you can, just mount it from the CWM Recovery and you're set.
Thanks... I thought so, but just making sure.

Are you sure you can flash from an external SD card.
I'm really trying to work out how to do it on a Samsung Galaxy S.
I have a discussion going in this thread (How to flash a ROM with out USB) if you'd care to explain.
If you could provide pointers I'd be most grateful.
Thanks.

i cannot speak for your phone, but as an o3d user and flash-a-holic, i can readily tell you that i am able to flash/back-up roms from/into both the internal and external sd cards. i have done it countless times... if it doesn't work on your phone, maybe you can give rom manager's dev team a message

Start cwm and choose "install zip from sdcard" and on the next screen you have two options one at the top of the list(your external) and one at the bottom(your internal)

Oh, I know what happen...
The default "Backup" function change from ext-sdcard to int-sdcard,
so no space for it to create a backup file...
Therefore backup need choose the function of Backup to external sdcard.
Tested, backup & restore function are fine! Thanks!!! :good:
Thanks, about time we got some recovery love
Any bugs we should be aware of in this build?
seems to working perfect, thanks a lot
I cant backup to my sd card or flash zips from it. It says my external sd isnt mounted, and i get an error when i try to mount it in the recovery. Other than that everything works.

I can backup and restore without any problem's on my ExternalSd.
Please check if your sd card is formated as exFAT.
Official Clockworkmod doesn't support exFAT formated sdcard's.
what does silence mean here? does it mean it is so stable and all working good? does it flash themes and wiping properly?
as long as wiping, backup and restore works great on this I think it this is good news. Trying this out.

As I said in the other thread, you're using exFAT which isn't supported.
Also, there is an official CWM 6.0.2.8 now, look here. (his tar has the wrong version number in its filename, it actually is 6.0.2.8)

Sorry, I don't want to come across as annoying but I really am not using exFAT, as I have explained on the other thread. FAT32 was used with a cluster size of 32kb.

my phone GT I9100. I formatted by my phone under ics on my 64gb cl10 card was fat32 about year ago. Recently I upgraded to jb due to boot loop peoblem, I wipe my phone including formatting msd card. This time it formatted to exfat and many problems I had encountered cwm and mobile odin no recognised it. So I should said for 64gb msd, under ics format by phone was fat32. Under jb it will be exfat.
Send via i9100 using XDA premium,
ROM: Stock XWLSD
Kernel: Phil XWLSD V4.35
superSU 1.04
Can you re-upload recovery Odin version (link is broken on the fist page) ?
Or how change cwr version to odin version ?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for port. The recovery won't mount sdcard though so cannot sideload anything. Why is that?
When I try to flash a new rom I get an error (fail) or sometimes recovery freeze and reboot.
I don't understand why this happen, sometimes I can't flash any rom, other times I can flash some roms like cm10.1 and other roms fail.
Now I flashed pac-man rom and I can't flash any other rom, so I restored backup of cm10.1 but I can't flash any rom for now.
I'm using TWRP 2.6, but I got similar problems also with CWM.
I don't know why flash roms with my photon Q seems so difficult, with desire z and g1 I never had similar problems.
Anyone has got similar problems?
I never had any problems, and I flashed my Q a lot with TWRP... Are you using internal or external SD? If external, do you have any issues with the card? Is it old, bad sectors, etc?

My SD is a samsnug 32gb class 10, no problem with sd card. I'll try to use internal SD card for flash roms
Now it works, with flashable zip on internal memory :silly:

Try another brand of sdcard like sandisk, see what happens ... Sometimes no file corruption doesn't mean your sdcard is in good status.

I'll be mush thankful if you guys tell me how to do it, because every time i make a backup for my ROM it directly goes to the internal phone storage which is can't take more than the backup files of the Rom and it stop since the internal memory stops responding...

Hi! So I have that Iphone 8 clone .. running on android 4.2.2 and I've been trying to install twrp.. yet I can't find any good twrp for this.. also I tried porting but I somehow can't manage to get it working .. tbh I don't really get it, It's like, the twrp size is too big or something in comparison to stock one.. as far I can only install cwm.. but I can't really use it xd.. cause this clone has no sd card slot.. oof..
so what I am asking for is, Can someone help me port / find good recovery for it ? or at least explain what should I do.. etc.. ?? ^^' .. I'd be grateful.

You don't have to have an SD card slot to use CWM. If you can get CWM installed, use it, it can flash files from your internal storage, it doesn't require an external SD card.

That is what CWM labels the internal storage, if you had an external sdcard in, it would be called sdcard1 and would show an option to flash from sdcard1.
It gets confusing sometimes but not all android software labels internal and extetnal sdcards the same. Some label internal memory as "sdcard", some label external memory as "sdcard".

No, not weird. It would say that because it can't mount your internal storage. And that would mean that it isn't working correctly and would not allow flashing from internal even if you had stuff stored on it that could be flashed.
See, you aren't understanding that the term "sdcard" does not always refer to an external sd card. Android devives use solid state storage, the internal storage on android IS a sdcard, it's just a permanent one instead of a removeable one.

Keep trying to port TWRP. Have you tried the tool that automates the process to port TWRP for MTK devices? Or have you been manually trying to port TWRP?

I'm not real familiar with the process because I'm not an MTK user, but that can be fixed by changing a few parameters during the build/port process.
It involves adjusting the size of your recovery partition to fit the size of the file.
Similar to what is discussed in the thread linked below, it might not explain it well but it gives you the idea of the issue and how to fix it, you might need to look for other threads that discuss the solution in order to get it working for you. I'm just trying to get you pointed in the right direction, whether I can find your specific answer or not.

Look around for things related to this and you'll find a solution.
