Yes, it also happened to me, when I first installed the last build of the Vanir ROM. A temporary solution is, you need to configure it manually to the configuration settings of the service providers in your area.

For people that doesn't have APN settings,
just copy apns-conf.xml from other rom that have it, i.e Carbon,
located in system/etc, and paste it in the same path in your rom.
Makes sure to set permissions to root, root 644.
Then go to settings > mobile > access point names,
open the menu in top right, and select reset to default.
It works for me

Continue to persevere with the problem of volume in the call that always returns to the fullest.

Regarding NovaThor Settings...
Do the Charging Control and Cycle Charging take effect immediately or do I need to restart?
Is there a guide somewhere that I can refer to on how it should be used?

Profiles doesn't seem to be working properly for the last 3 updates. I can't edit/customize the profiles anymore.

rw-r--r--, read and write permissions for the Owner, and only read permission to the Group and Others.
Check the screenshot in attachment.
Anyway someone had made a flashable zip, just flash in recovery. You can find his post here:

[Fix] NA1/NA5_Work around to enable installation of non-market apps and disable googl

Hello Users/Readers:
I'm just your average Falsh-o-holic, who combs through all of the S4 threads to find what's been accomplished/useful information. I have not come across this work around, so I decided to post this info users of the NA1/NA5 Roms who cannot access the Security, settings option.
Disclaimer:
Use this info at your own risk. I am not responsible if this breaks your device.
I am posting this info using my XDA app. I also did this without the need of a PC. Please do not ask for links. Everything I used can be found on this web site, play store or google, except for the kernel. I'll try to be specific. Feel free to add links if you want to help other Users.
My Phone/ROM info:
Confimed working on an US AT&T SGH-I337 S4. I believe this will work on all S4 models. I currently am running Echo Rom v14 (NA5), with old bootloader and wifi working kernel (had to flash the loki doki.zip as well, which can be found all over the AT&T S4 thread).
Links of this kernel have sadly been removed.
I also use the AT&T MK2 modem - I intitially got 4G speed/icon.
I had to preform a few adjustments to the build prop and created a new PTA apn to achieve a stronger LTE connection.
I flahed the Att CSC fix zip (Can be found on the Virgin Rom thread in the OP.) as well.
Tools needed for this permission edit:
SQLite Editor or similar app.
I used SQLite Editor v2.0.1
Solution:
1) Using SQLite editor (in the apps menu) I scrolled down to the Settings Storage app and selected it/pressed it.
2) On the next screen I selected/pressed on the settings.db option.
3) Find the line that reads - install_non_market apps (line 19 for me) and press on it/select it. Then select the edit option (pencil icon top of the screen).
4) Change the value from 0 to 1 and save.
5) In the same menu, navigate to the line that reads - package_verifier_enable (line 86 for me) and change the value from 1 to 0 and save.
Last - Reboot your device and enjoy installing apks from your external/internal storage cards, xposed app, etc., without access to the Security settings option.
Please do not make any other changes because you can possibly harm your device.
These 2 simple edits will stop the current FC's we experience when trying to install and app without using the play store and disable the annoying pop-up thak asks if you want google to check for harmful blah, blah, blah. Will work even if you've pressed OK already, which I did my mistake.
Again feel free to post links to assist other Users. I Hope this helps everyone with old (4.3) bootloaders who cannot access these setting.

I would love to but do not have the proper hardware to do so. I have laptop running with an AMD64 processor, but it came installed with Vista,32 bit. I also have a desktop with Windows 8,32 bit. From what I've read a PC running a 64 bit OS is necessary. Let me know if there is some I can do with my equipment. I've never tried to build because of this but would do so if I could.

You wouldnt even have to build it my friend
You grab the build one (i.e. v14) and you make it so that Americans (which i have soooo many friends i want them to be happy) can use it
Thats all
No need to cook it from scratch! You will be grabbing the latest Echoe everytime
No pressure my friend at all!!
I thought it would be awesome way especially for Americans to be on the 4.4.2
And there is no way i could do it and fully support another thread....
No hurry!! We can talk any details you want my man!!
I was impressed about your discovery here!! I love to see this kind of thinking!! Thats what got me to discover the"wifi trick" for the 4.3... Thinking completely paradoxically and "outside of the box"

Great find. I had already changed build prop to att and did a dirty flash to get most of my app installed but this will allow those that didn't to work. It makes the Echoe a truly workable Rom for ATT users and a DD candidate. I agree with Friedrich420 this is what the forums are about,
Edit: Tried this and still have a problem with downloading some apps. Get a pop up "can't store internal storage or sd card"
Hmm. Just tried "sqlite editor pro free" and when I got to settings.db to open it, it gives me "an error occurred while opening the database". Rebooted to make sure everything was settled, but still no luck. Went to buy the $2.99 version of sqlite editor, but it couldn't install onto either my sd card or internal memory. Might be the rom, but this leads to the whole point of needing the work around. Maybe a lost cause.

In build.pro change false for true in the line: "ro.securestorage.support=false" and in the platform.xml in system/etc/permisions look for:
<permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >

<group gid="sdcard_rw" />

Just thinking this could be posted in AT&T like GE rom where you have a zip that changes the 4g icon, build prop and security setting in 1 zip to make it AT&T. What WIFI issues? do they exist on MLD bb?

[Q] [ Kindly Help ]

Hello, first thanks to all of u. U guys rock.
I installed DN3 3.2 Rom on my Note 2 GT-N7100 .. followed all the instructions to the point. It gave me Note3 features. Everything is fine but my mobile data is not working. If turned on the Data Uplink Downlink Icon Dose not even appear in the top bar.
Please help. !!!
Sakib
It's probably only that the APNs aren't correctly configured. It's not a big problem.
Go to your mobile network settings then to APNs (Access Point Names) then add a new one and type in your network APN configs (find them from Google) and then save the new created APN and it will probably work!
Please press the thanks button if i helped!

Make sure your IMEI was not changed in the process. Second, if configuration of your APN doesn't work, I suggest looking in the N7100 thread for flashable modem compatible with your region. Third- is your phone sim-locked by any chance?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
It can be the bug in the rom only.
Plss check its bugs first
Its not a bug of the ROM just you need to fix the GPRS settings.

Help-Index
Battery
Battery at is quite OK for this state of development, but anyway it's a light version which only should give a preview of next Android 5.0
Problems with battery could be for extreme battery drain.
In this case:
- Check if specific app occurs this!
- reboot system
- wait a next full charge
- reflash if nothing helps
Busybox
The standard Busybox isn't working with Android L on this state.
But u can use another one which works fine:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitcubate.root.busybox.complete
Camera
Problems could be crashes, freezes, black screens or reboots.
If u have camera problems u can try different things:
- delete data of camera app
- uninstall updates if camera app
- extract camera apk from rom and replace it
- change any settings like picture or video resolution in camera
- deactivate NuPlayer option in Developer Options
Crashing App(s)
some apps still don't work. Problem could be that it's not supporting ART or it requires root which isn't working fine, because the developer of apps have to update their binaries.
Extended Bootmenu
There is no extended Bootmenu, but can use an app doing exactly the same:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tyler.rebootmenuwidget
Flash
Problems could be errors while flashing, bootloop or systemUI FCs.
Problems relating to flash mostly occurs because not following the correct flash way:
- Check if /system is unmounted
- Fullwipe (wipe data, caches, system)
- Flash Rom.zip
- Flash SU.zip
- Reboot
If anyway problems, u can only try it again or change for example once between mounted and unmounted, so that this becomes set again.
Gapps
There r no Gapps for Android L.
Alls Gapps included in Stock.
Location
This state of release has a bug which only except location off or on.
The battery saving mode can be set, but would be set to on after getting back to it.
MMS/SMS
Problems could be, that both won't work at all or just sending or receiving of one.
U have to check ur provider APN settings and update/edit them.
(most T-Mobile and Sprint)
Root
U maybe don't have root.
To become a rooted device just flash the modified Superuser.zip from OP.
Screencast
At this state of release this function is implemented, but doesn't work!
Standard chromecast is working fine.
SystemUI
Problems could be FCs of SystemUI.
If u have problems while phone is charging (depends of battery level),
unplug the USB cable, restart SystemUI and then re-plug the usb cable.
Like here.
If u have other or still problems, look into Flash then.
Tethering
Problems could be, that SSID is visible but connection won't be successful.
U have to change the Password one time, after that it's working as usual.
Titanium Backup
For a working Titanium Backup u have to use the official Beta, as the standard release won't run at all.
Upgrade
Flashing LPX13D over KTU84P with non-wipe (removing -w from the flash-all file) renders the home button inopperable.
==> FIX: Running :- adb shell am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity
VPN
Connections are successful, but routing isn't.
This is still a developer preview and surly get fixed in next release(s).
Xposed
Xposed doesn't work in Android L!!!
Android L only running ART but Xposed doesn't support it.

The preview was working fine, but after that I restarted the device, it crashes after 10 seconds back into the boot animation. It does so infinitely, just keeps playing the boot animation, starting, and then crashing again. Any ideas on how to fix?

Come on, it's a preview version. Re-flash it or better yet flash 4.4.4 and wait until it's a real release. It's for developers not the general population.

Hey, thanks for the advice. You or anyone else viewing this thread may be interested to know that the issue did not occur in safe mode, and I've been able to nail down that the problem is caused by Lightflow. After uninstalling that app, the loop has ceased.
If anyone else has my above issue, try picking off apps that may not be compatible with L yet.
Going to put this out there - this is a developer preview, NOT a consumer release. If you don't know how to flash it with fastboot, then honestly it isn't for someone like you.
So... is SuperSU working? Or any root method?
Has anyone had the issue where the SD Card is unreadable by any app, including Google ones?

It's being talked about in some of the threads in the Development section. It works, but also requires a boot.img flash. I don't think it's available yet though.

Does anyone's android look like this?

edit: Looks like the English (CA) is distorted for now.
VOIP Settings
Internet call settings apparently are not working for me. I attempted to add in Callcentric information in the internet call settings and I am not getting a ring from the server. Is this working for anyone else?
T-Mobile
I'm not able to flash back to 4.4 now it seems. It worked fine to flash L of course, but now all of a sudden fastboot commands seem to not work for me. Adb is fine but won't recognize fastboot

Everyone stop posting like you are moderators here and know what your talking about... This is a well know build.prop edit that Developers already know about. The op already said he found it in some other phone threads so give it a break... The original author is long lost to XDA and is probably LG or some other phone company...
THREAD CLEANED
Guys I have not tested this but changing fw.max_users from 3 to bigger number like 5 will increase the multiuser limit
original threads is created by stormy_ugur. I requested to Moderator. Please closed this thread

[Dev] [root] Introducing AppBox: Move your apps to Cloud - Like Dropbox but for Apps

Hi there,
I've been working this project quite sometime. Its Rooted App. With this you can move apps to remote cloud. Note this is safe. Since this app won't touch user data like email/photo etc. It moves only the app binary (apk file). This apk file is what you download from Play Store.
At high-level this is how it works:
1) You install the app from Play Store. (For example - Mekorama -its around 5MB)
2) Now with the help of AppBox you can move this app to Cloud. 5MB Internal storage is freed-up.
3) From now onwards, the app will be available only from Cloud over network.
Here you can view the screencast of it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpmVVDBpsCE
It's available under private-beta testing, If you have Rooted device, internet connection and want to test/check it - Send me your email id.
In future, if needed, depending on requirement - later we plan to add moving data (files & folders) to cloud. There exists Android Instant apps, but I'm not quite sure how it works & whether its available for all existing apps. If you have comments or feedback - please let me know. thanks!
Update2: (Jan-29th-2017)
Its currently under closed-beta with 'Lonely Root' G+ Group. Please check

Update3: (Mar7-2017)
Tested with versions 4.4 and 5.1.

Hey thanks all for the responses and support for this app. The app available under beta-testing via this group:
https://plus.google.com/111876109796223933828/posts/QxJVSwxhqyM?sfc=false
If you prefer not to join group, please wait for few more days - I may make it as open-beta testing.
To be honest, if we didn't get proof that this works on at-least 3 or 4 model of Rooted device with beta-testing, this will never reach general public! Please read the steps below and drop me message/email with issues. Thank you.
APPBOX (ROOT APP):
I tested only with Moto-E 1st & 2nd Gen rooted using TWRP. At this stage, I highly recommend not to trust
this app for critical data.(Beware: These app may get lost!). Use not-critical small apps (~10MB) to move Cloud.
You need to have at-least 128kbps Internet speed.
Usage steps:
Step 0) If SELinux enable, adjust its permission first.
Step 1) Open the app and grant Su permissions.
Step 2) Login via Gmail account
Step 3) Now you have 3 tabs, Goto 'Settings' -> Click 'Config' -> Now check 'Status'
Step 4) Once Status is 'connected' , Move apps to 'Cloud'.
Step 5) From now onwards, the app will run from Cloud.
Step 6) If you reboot the device. The app won't appear on Launcher you need to Open the app -> Goto Settings -> Click 'Config' -> Check 'Status' -> Do perform 'Refresh'. It will take few seconds to restart the device. Then your cloud app will be available for use.
If you find issues, please let me know steps, logfile along with your device model and OS version. thanks.

LilAnt530 also reported similar issue. If you run 'ps | grep appbox' can you see appbox daemon(/system/xbin/ab/library/armeabi/appbox) running? If not, please reboot the device and simply open the app. Without going to settings you can re-check ps command again. If it shows up, go ahead with settings.
