Hello Xda, I am new to posting, but I am legit stuck on this and i require help so hopefully I can here. I own a US Cellular Galaxy S4 sch-r970 running stock (flashed stock) 4.3 flashed to Ntelos using CDMA workshop. Its not running 3g (damn 1x) but i hope to soon resolve that with prls updates. But before i can do this i need to find a way to root with ruining the flash (basically no flash rooting with odin or custom boot menu :'(... ). I have already tried framaroot (they don't support 4.3 with aragorn or gandalf....) and i wanna try kingo but they won't give me a straight answer of weather or not their application is compatible with flashed phones. So to put it simply i wanna root my phone and if there is no way not to ruin the flash can i keep root and reflash??? plus if anybody can help me with the prls because my phone everytime 1x is turned on/off the phone calls *228 and i know i need to update the prls.... sooooo yea if anybody can please help i would appriciate it very much. Thanks.

Hi I recently flashed my TMobile branded Galaxy Tablet to Gingerbread from Froyo. All went well except I now can only connect to EDGE data. Can someone please show me a flash or patch to change the radio frequency so I can get back to 3g and still keeep Gingerbread. I'm a novice so I really need someone who is able to walk me thru the process in laymans terms.
Thanks
I am of need of some information. 3 days of bits and pieces here is where I'm at.
I rooted this phone with droids kernel and installed a few different roms only to find that I had a non locking GPS. So after several threads I found I needed to return to stock and get a lock. Here is where the problem started. I have never found a Cspire stock file for the SCH-R760 the best match I could find was a USC easy upgrade tool on samsung. Flashed the util and got a stock lock. After several buil.prop edits apn edits never could get data to work. SO I found a generic carriers stock FF24 total tar package posted by Mcadder on the USC site flashed it with odin and checked the efs clear to wipe out all the USC stuff. When I came out of the flash all device information was gone and prl was gone. So then I went into ##3282## changed all the information that I had to get voice text and prl back. So I'm now rooted with no data.
I need someone who is on Cspire to go into ##3282## and give me some information so hopefully I can get data back.
Also if anyone has a default build.prop for this phone Please post. I have asked in other post but not finding to many people with a Cspire SG2 that can help.
I can help

What specifics do you need from there. I see lots of information?
If you have this fixed already. Are you staying with the original load for this phone or did you find a ROM that works? I am wanting to flash my CSpire S2 and hope to find a jellybean load to work. I remember having trouble with the data on my S1 after flashing and went back to the original load.
Needed to close this. I got it all fixed and yes ,Using CodeName Android that was ported to USC then reported back to cspire.
need help

Did flashing a us cellular custom ROM to your cspire Samsung galaxy s2 do this or did you lose your data by updating the firmware through us cellular? What I am asking is if it is safe to flash a custom ROM made for a us cellular galaxy s2 to my cspire galaxy s2??

It was caused by running the easy upgrade tool from Samsung, designed for US cellular . I personally run stuff for the Epic4g posted here. Some say it is not wise to do so because they aren't exactly the same, but I have had little issue running CM10,PA,AOKP,AOSP.

Hi all,
I hope you can help me with the following:
Recently I bought an unlocked galaxy express i437 (the phone is originally from AT&T) and I am able to use it with other carriers with no problems but there is no way to change the technology (there is no "network mode" menu). Searching around, I found that it can be changed manually with code *#2263# and going through the sub-menus which is a pain to do.
I was thinking in rooting this phone and install CM10.2 in hopes of getting the network mode available directly from the settings screen but before I try that I need to know if the phone will remain SIM-unlock as it currently is or if there is a risk of having it bound to AT&T after the rooting process.
Thanks in advance.
Angel

hey guys new to the site....i was hoping somebody could help me... i have been trying to flash my phone at a cell phone shop but they were not able to do it. The owner tells me my phone is not remembering the flash when it boots back up...He has also tried rooting my s4 and it is still doing the same thing. They tell me it might be a motherboard issue. what do you guys think
I'm currently new to the xda forums, so I applogize in advance if i am posting in the wrong thread. But I currently recieved a samsung sph-d710 that was on sprint from a freind. I currently have a samsung galaxy reverb from virgin mobile that currently has service, and I've been reading around different forums and faqs about flashing phones to other carriers and was wondering if there was any way i could get this phone to work with my virgin mobile account. I know that virgin mobile has had this phone on there service before(my mom has one). And also is it possible for me to somehow rip off the stock virgin mobile android os from her phone? I've browsed around and couldnt find any downloads for the stock virgin mobile os for the phone, so i think this may be the only way for me to get the os. Also how would i go about copying her os system? Do i need to root her phone and create a clockwork mod recovery of her phone, then somehow extract that file to my computer, then use some program to fully flash it over? I'm all very new to the flashing carriers, although i do have basic knowledge of rooting and running custom roms. Does flashing a sprint phone to virgin have to be done with a special program on the computer(i have cdma workshop, but have no clue how to use it). And also even if i was able to flash the phone to virgin mobile, wont the esn still be registered as a sprint phone? Or is the esn device type specific? Also what is prl? Do they need to be updated? I guess in general i'm asking alot of question, but what are the steps to flashing the phone over, what all needs to be changed? If anyone can help answer one or all of these questions i would be forever greatful. Also pointing me to some tutorials would be greatly appreciated :fingers-crossed:
This is just a beg and ask for help thread. So just my thoughts I had an LG G2 and there were tmobile roms that we could use on the g2 with no problems. Would it be possible to have a tmobile rom and use a verizon kernel and radio? But my hopes are that some of you wonderful people could perhaps throw some help to the verizon section of this phone, it seems to be left in the dust compared to tmobile/spring roms. Just one decent rom would be greatly appreciated with root on android 5. Thank you all for reading this.
I assume that you have the Dev edition of the VZW Edge? If so, I would say it would be worth a try, at least with the T-Mobile Roms and not Sprint, because I have seen too many times where its Sprint only on Sprint. I have not had much experience with VZW, but I would say it is safe to assume that you could flash a full ROM with the only issue potentially being a missing APN to VZW. Try RiverRom 5.1.1, that isnt based off a Tmo rom, so it could have better support for Verizon. If anything goes wrong, just use ODIN to flash back to stock.
Ok could someone please help me. I've managed to get the stuff to setup odin and do all that jazz. Boot to download mode download an official stock release of 4.4 kitkat and goto downgrade from 5.0.1 on my n915v but no success, says emmc write fail.
Is my device locked to 5.0.1 can I not even downgrade, no I do not have the developers edition of the phone but I do have developer unlocked in the settings menu and have selected debugging mode.
Any ideas?
You're stuck with what you have. Nobody has successfully unlocked the verizon version
