I have a 3G data card Tata Photon+. I do have OTG cable. But how to connect to internet using the data card instead of using Sim provider data. After connecting with OTG cable, I have observed the blinking of light in the modem. But in Access Point Names, except the sim provider's names, nothing new appears. Is that not supported in Moto g?

Hello all,
i got my Xoom from my friend. He told me that it is a WIFI Xoom. it is mz604 but it has a Sim Card hole ?
What does it for ? i live in Turkey. is it for 4g or cdma only or it is only for decoration ?
i succesfully flashed Turkey FW and mobile network is disabled. i checked out Turkish xoom when you take out sim card its mobile network is disabled too.
i wonder that sim card socket is working or not ? if it is working i can transfer it to 3g (i think) but if it is cdma or 4G or whatelse it is only a fantasy.
What do you think guys ?
The SIM card slot is not connected to anything in the WIFI Xooms, however, the SD card slot is in that same area.

Why is it that the 4G/LTE stays connected and visible on the notification bar when WiFi is connected?
Because 4g radios are still on, they just arent connecting to the network.

Well in settings>network the service state is listed as in service while it's connected to WiFi

Because you're still connected to the mobile network (hence you still having service bars). Your phone cuts off your data connection while you're on wifi but it doesn't cut the cellular connection completely. If it did, you wouldn't be able to make/receive phone calls or do any of the other normal phone functions that rely on a cellular connection.
AT&T was just a bit stupid with their configuration and keeps the 4G icon there as a reminder that you still have signal. If you're on a custom ROM like CM9, AOKP, or CleanROM with GSM patch, then you will notice that the data connection icon disappears when you're connected to wifi, like it should be.
I've heard that if you plug in an USB adapter plus a 3g modem you would be able to connect to a 3g network. I own a P3110 wifi tab but i'm using a p3100 rom, which has 3g software (and thus support for calls and messages); when trying to make a call i'm told theres no service, of course... I guess if with an external modem properly connected to the tab i would manage to get 3g access?

I am using moto g3 dual sim in india. Earlier, i was using 4g but 2 3 months back my phome stoppped recieving 4g network on this number.
I changed my sim twice and factory resetted my phone twice. I even tried contacting airtel customer care bit they were unable to rectify this issue.
Finally i ported out of airtel and got idea but still when i select 4g network of idea is unavailable.
I am in delhi where 4g network is available.
I have used my friends sim card of airtel and idea in the same slot, then 4g works. The issue seems to be with my number only.
Please help.
Go to the dialer
Dial *#*#4636#*#* a window will open
Go to phone information and set preferred network
type as LTE Only
Go to setting - more - mobile network - and set preffered network type as LTE Only
You are done wait a minute you will get 4g network

I'm unable to connect to 4G network for almost 3 months. Previously was using Postpaid Airtel Sim which worked fine. But after switching to prepaid new number which is also Airtel 4G i couldnt able to access to 4G connection.
Got help from the provider even after resetting the network settings and eve
Tried with other sim card on my device which is also not working with 4G while my sim card is working with other devices and no sim card is getting connected to 4G in my device as of now.
Is this the fault of network? Or is this Bug from the OS?
try flashing modem again from stock firmware. hope that helps
