No write permissions on external sd card - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Rooted using weaksauce, but when I try and use my 64GBP card apps such as titanium backup show an error that they don't have write privileges...even though they have root and is verified....help?

Root alone won't fix read write. You can install a custom rom with that baked into the kernel or I believe there is an xposed module that allows it.

There are also apps in the market that will allow read write to the ext sd card

That depends on the application you downloaded.

Did you ever resolve this issue I'm trying to S-Off so I can ROM but I want to backup all my data to the external card first. I have the same problem and SDFix does not seem to do anything, I too have verified root and SU permission to Titanium Backup.
Please don't tell me the solution is SDFix as it does not seem to resolve the problem.

Did you guys get this fixed yet?

I used root explorer pro to backup data to sd with weaksauce before soff and it worked just fine.

Yea sorry, I obtained s-off and flashed clean Rom

Backup protected app to apk

I have tried tirelessly to backup an app to apk. I am rooted but the apk file is not under the data/app which programs use to back it up. I can use titanium backup but I need to eventually be able to install the app without being rooted as the app refuses to run on rooted devices.
Can you backup apps installed to an apk when they are blocked?
How?
I will gladly donate to whoever helps leading to success.

In case anyone wants to do such in the future, I was able to get the apk by using an application called root uninstaller to get the protected app into an apk file that I could use to install on bother devices.

i agree with mistarose about using root uninstaller. it comes in handy also, after you install you can search for it:
# busybox find / -name *jeppesen*.apk
Don't know if it helps but i use ave anti iris to back up apps to apk
Will say not all apps but most

Titanium backup question

I was never prompted to create an account when I downloaded titanium backup. How does it work when I wipe and flash a new a rom? Or get a new device?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
It saves the apk & data on a file on your sd. Just put the backup in your new phone sd and tb will recognize it.
Cool thanks for the reply.

I just flashed a rom today. Went to the store downloaded titanium backup and it instantly started loading and restoring my apps. As long as you have titanium backup restored of course

Although for some reason it didn't restore my gta3 data which I was a little pissed... but ohwell. Everything else went smooth as butter once I remembered to flash gapps with the rom I flashed lol

It probably restored the data on the SD. Use a file explorer and try to paste and replace it in root.
You would have to find the file in the phone data I think. Can't rmb.

Well I did move it to SD card. Then I got a new SD card. Tried to see the files from my old card on my computer and was going to transfer them but there didn't seem to be anything on it important?? If that makes sense. And in titanium backup I had all my user apps on SD card buut nothing showed on my computer.

Hi.
Can I make a backup of WiFi settings - passwords from one Rom and restore them to another?
I used to have problems backing system data up from different ROMs. But you can try it, should be under backup system data in TiBu. WiFi settings maybe?

Titanium backup not recognising root

Whenever I go into titanium backup it says sorry could not acquire root privileges. All I've done is unlocked the bootloader and installed cwm, superuser and busy box. Also I'm on stock Rom and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that hasn't worked.

Titanium backup stuck restoring apps

First I have to say that I used titanium before and it always worked out well.
I have created a zip file that I flash every time I flash a ROM but today I flashed PA on my nexus 4 , flashed the gapps and the zip file that I created with titanium.
I have the pro version and when I went to restore the missing apps and data it stucked there forever so I closed titanium , tried again and same thing.
What can I do please?

Are you using KitKat? And are the files on SD card?

Thats because the only way to get 1080p is to have root. If you don't have root, then you have to wait for Google to fix which probably won't happen as its a long time bug.
