[MOD Request] Clari.Fi and Live Stage from HTC One M8 (Harman Kardon edition] - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys.. HTC together with Harman Kardon has unvealed a new HTC One M8 and this is a Sprint exclusive..
So here hardware is the same but it has two audio software mods called "Clari.Fi" and "Live Stage" ..n it can play music upto 192 khz as well against 96 Khz for a regular HTC One..
So I was wondering that since these are software mods only, can they be ported to the Nexus 5? ..thanks
Here is a video explaining these mods:

Hmm Harman Kardon you say? Interesting. They only make quality stuff and I would be surprised if they made some cheap software for a phone.
I have a couple of Harman Kardon CL headphones that I'm using with my Nexus 5 and they sound amazing.

+1 would love to see this ported to nexus 5

I bet Viper4Android will blow this Harman Kardon software tweak away! :silly:
I sincerely doubt whether there will be any other sound mod which could dethrone V4A,,

Well believe me when I say this that when I tried V4A it didnt sound good..I might have got the config wrong but the sound started crackling even when the volume was at halfway point and my music got quieter too instead of going a bit louder..
It might be that it doesnt work that good with the DAC of Nexus 5..
Are u using it on your nexus?

I think you might not have set it up correctly...
Have been using it ever since it came out ... One X - Nexus 5... One of the first things I do after root is install v4a.
Take a look at the v4a discussion thread in themes n apps forum... May be you didn't install it in /system/app or /priv-app that's why you got those audio drop outs.
Also, enable expert ui in v4a and you have tons of tweaks to choose from..

The beauty of the H/K mod is you can use it with V4A. Add that together with a good music player like neutron and a good headset and you get eargasm.

Ya man..lets hope it does get ported ..the only doubt I have is that the DSPs of M8 and Nexus 5 are different.. So dont know if a port is possible or not..

Well, Google wishes for us to think that Nexus 5 uses DSP for music playback, but it's not. A wakelock is in place and CPU cores are active all the time @300mHz up to 2.27GHz. No deep sleep at all. Other than that a Hexagon DSP is present in both Nexus 5 and One M8

V4a with IPS and thwle right headphones is the best I have found. However HK does bring the quality so i hope its ported and can be tweeked. Noozaudio is also good but its limited compared to Viper.

Test it carefully... It almost destroyed my ear when it failed... Turn the volume low or keep the earphone a bit away from your ear...
This is for I forgot to delete the cynogenlib in the update script. Just delete/or backup libcynogen-dsp.so from soundfx.
It's almost near perfect without DSPManager. I'll upload a DSPManager add-on when I can get it to be stable.

It's pretty tricky to test if Beats Audio really worked. You need a speaker to mic cable and some audio analyzing software.

[q] beats help?!

I have the htc one x for at&t. I just flashed the cyanogen 10 mod yesterday and I noticed it took away the beats audio software so I downloaded the 3rd party beats applications that requires root and it just doesn't sound as good as it once did. Does anyone know how to put the original software on cyanogen 10 for this phone? or am I just imagining it's sounding different?
can someone help me out as soon as possible. I have been having a hell of a time finding any information on this.

Try jet audio player. It was posted as an apk in the themes and app section.. huge equilizer and a ton of presets. Sounds way better than beats because you can fine tune it to your style and preferences
But as far as getting it on cm10.. nope

[Request] Beats/Acid/EQ?

Is there a way to flash an apk or zip file to get a system wide EQ on our phone like Beats? The sound output via the headphones is soooooo low. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!
Viper4Android is by far the best IMO. It's a much easier install than AC!D as well. Beats(even Awesome Beats) was always garbage to me. Especially compared to AC!D/Viper4Android.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I've decided to give a try to the Beats Audio™ PRO that used before on my N7 which is now outdated on playstore...if you find it and it works for you it is night and day compared to the original output. There is no equalization but IMO there is no need to. You can still play with EQ with your music player (I use poweramp). I've tried several DSP managers (downloaded, integrated in custom roms, etc...) but nothing comes close this mode. The only inconvience - you need to be root.

Don't really need to. The stock ROM doesn't contain the lines to edit anyways.
Viper works, I highly recommend if using with a good IRS. Works great on my Nexus 5!! Best audio mod I've used.
Okay. I had installed beats on a previous phone awhile ago and wasn't at all impressed. The EQ in poweramp was good enough. However, seen this thread today and figured I'd give viper a shot being as how a couple people recommended it. Well, I am quite impressed. I've tried it on phone speaker and Bluetooth and it definitely offers an improvement, especially on Bluetooth. Hopefully, it is just as good on the headset, haven't been able to test it out yet. But yeah, definitely worth installing.

Do you have the "Enable/V4A-FX is powered on" check box checked for the output you're using? There is one to check for Bluetooth, Speaker, and Headphones. All three have been working for me on Google Music.

It *is* system-wide. It won't work on PowerAmp unless you turn off DVC in PowerAmp's settings.
V4A is a comprehensive audio-driver replacement, not just some software EQ.

All beats mods implement "beats" which is marketing hype and not much else of substance other than some eq changes so why you'd want a beats mod is beyond me.
There are about 5 threads about this in various forums, use the search function. Beats is just an equalizer same with their headphones, it is nothing special, rootsu got the post before I did =D

It can. There is an extra loudness option for the speaker. For headphones and bluetooth you can play around with adjusting the gain and master limiter.
I've been playing with viper for a little bit. It's definitely more comprehensive than the stock equalizer, and it takes care of the (imo)low volume, but it's a little overwhelming. I have no idea what half of the settings are for. It works well, though.
Also, I had to download an older version for the drivers to work.
Thanks for the input!
