Gear 2 - battery - Samsung Gear 2

Guys I need your help. I noticed that battery on my Gear 2 is quite weak. I have only a day of use. I connect it with my Note 2 / 4.3 Android. But as I live in Taiwan, I was told to not charge the gear for the first time. Just to run out the battery. Girls in Samsung Shop could barely speak english. Can It be a problem why the battery is so weak now? If so, is there a way to improve the battery?

Why start a new topic about this, when there is already a thread about "Battery Life"?

Gear S2 and Galaxy S7 Edge DRASTICALLY Draining battery

I've had my Gear S2 since October, (the sport model), and originally paired it with my Galaxy S6 Edge up until a few weeks ago when I received my S7 Edge. I used to get EXCELLENT full day battery life, like 10+ hours with like 30% left by the end of the day. Long-story short, incredible battery life. But every since I paired it with my new S7, not only does it drain the battery faster, but almost at unrealistic speeds. I'm talking 2 hours max and the battery on the watch is at 30%. I haven't changed anything but pair it with my S7 Edge. I can't imagine what would be causing it, or even how to run a diagnostic to be able and see, but I can't wear my Gear S2 out anymore because its just absolutely killed the battery. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Have you tried factory resetting and repairing with the S7 edge? Could be a Rogue app or something.

Does anyone know the life expentancy of the Gear S2 Classic or S3 Classic battery?

I have been unable to find ANY information about the life expectancy of the batteries in the S2 Classic and the S3 Classic. I even called Samsung and not only could they not give me an answer, but they could not tell me the cost or procedure of having the battery replaced when the time comes. All they could tell me is that I could expect to spend a minimum of @ $70 - their customary out-of-warranty service charge. If I'm going to spend $300 or $350 for a gizmo with a non-user-removable battery, I'd like to know a) the life expectancy, cost and procedure of having that battery replaced. It's one thing to buy an expensive watch for that price that you are going to have for forty years; it's another to spend it on a watch that you'll need to replace in two years. I realize it's wearable tech, not jewelry, but still...
If anyone can help with the info I'm looking for, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Many thanks!

Smart watches use the same battery tech as mobile phones...use that as your battery life proxy.
Battery life is a combination of how often you charge the battery, and how far you deplete it between charges, so no one can tell you what your battery life will be, but you can find great information here to help you understand more about that: http://batteryuniversity.com/
In my experience after 2-3 years my smartphones' batteries have seemed to start to lose some of their "ooomph" (not last as long) and I would expect the batteries in Smartwatches to behave similarly.
Finally, the idea that you'll still want to stick with your S2 in 2-3 more years (any more than most of us keep a smart phone for >2 to 3 years) seems very unlikely - the improvements that are going to come over that time frame to smartwatch features and form-factor (including likely better battery life!) would seem to make the "how long is this battery going to last") question a moot point in most cases. By the time it's starting to wane, you're shopping for a new watch anyway...

How much of your phones battery is the gear s3 using?

Hi guys! Iam tempted on buying the gear S3 here but its ridiculously expensive where i live and therefore it needs to be near perfect for me to justify the purchase! My main concern is battery life (more so the actual phone then the watch) I understand the theory that your inclined to check your phone less and therefore your phones battery goes further but iam interested in how much actual screen on time your losing!! For example.... If you charge your phone to 100% and you connect your gear s3 to it and leave it for 24hours and in that time you don't use your phone at all! How much would your battery have dropped after 24 hours?
Iam a massive battery junkie and i love how good my phones battery is and for me personally i would rather not use the gear s3 if its gonna kill my phones battery! Even a 1% drop an hour to me would bordering on too much as that would equate to a 24% drop on your phone in 24hours without using ur phone at all!
I normally get 4 days use out of my battery, however I recharge after about 3 days.

It's insignificant unless you're using GPS. I really notice no difference at all.

Literally no difference? So it virtually uses no battery??

Not literally none obviously, but it is so little that I don't notice it. Less than 1% per hour.
I did a six hour hike the other day, logging the hike on the watch and S-health did take a more noticeable hit on the battery. Like more than 10% but I don't recall that happening on other hikes.
I think the S3 is the best smartwatch currently available. I've had mine for six months and am still very happy with it. But you said a couple of things in your post that give me pause. While I'm OK with spending $350 USD on what is essentially a phone accessory, the S3 is far from the "near perfect" that you may be expecting. Furthermore, your obsession with battery efficiency is a trait that you may find very irritating with smartwatches. Obviously you can do what you want, but I would be remiss if I didn't suggest caution regarding your expectations.

Huawei watch 2 battery doubts

Hey i just got a Huawei Watch 2, its my first day using it and i have a few questions about the battery life, i just charged the watch to 100% and in the watch battery information its says it will last for about 1.9 days, and that seems great but when i go to the android wear app in my galaxy s7 in the battery information section it says it will only last 7 hours so i dont know what to believe, hope you can help me.
Also worth noting i didn't charge my watch with an original charger i did it with a generic one i got from ebay so i dont know if that will make a big difference.

why not test it? and then share with us

Gear Fit 2 battery issue

According to Samsung the battery on the Gear Fit 2 should last 15 days. However, I recently bought one secondhand and the battery is only lasting 2 to 3 days and that is with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi switched off and the display brightness dimmed. I’m guessing this is because it is quite an old smartwatch and the battery is dying.
It may also be that corrosion has occurred due to wetting of the device, which causes abnormal current flow.

According to Samsung the Gear Fit 2 smartwatch was supposed to have 15 days battery life. Did anyone ever get 15 days battery life in the Gear Fit 2?
