That doesn't work I tried that before.
Idk, that was my idea.
So it fails even when you try to wipe, that's interesting (also means my assumption was wrong).

I am having the same issue
hboot1.14.0002
radio 0.19as.32.09.11_2
I am unlocked/tampered but S-on.
I thought I made a back up of CleanRom5 when I first put it on the phone, but alas I find that I didnt.
So I am between roms with s-on. Is there a way to achieve S-off with. I can still get into bootloader, and recovery.

This seems to be a bug with 2.4.x.x versions of TWRP. If you downgrade to an old version, it should be OK, from what I've read.

http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/evita
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/evita
I installed 2.3.3.0 and the factory reset still failed..?
errors given were E:unable to mount '/sdcard'
did you factory reset from bootloader if so you have corrupted your sd card there is a fix let me find it
I did this and this is what Xsmagical and I did to fix it.
Take the stock android recovery from a ruu or stock Rom. (I used the one from 1.85 ruu but it doesn't matter.)
Fastboot flash the stock recovery to your phone and then reboot into bootloader where you originally wiped.
Factory reset from hboot and then Fastboot flash twrp again, mount sd should be available now. Mount sd, copy whatever Rom onto sd card and flash from there.
Freaked me out too man
this is not my post copy and paste
Thanks brother anyone else this may help

Download TWRP 2.3.3.1 Check md5
boot to bootloader/fastboot
fastboot flash recovery twrp2.3.3.1filename.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
select recovery
Wipe cache, dalvik cache, system, factory reset
flash rom
if S-ON with hboot 1.14 or higher > extract boot.img from the rom zip then fastboot flash boot boot.img
2.4+ has issues. use 2.3.3.1 You would also get failed if you have zip file signature verification or force md5 on all zips checked when flashing so leave those unchecked.

Phone details: Relocked - VilleC2 - S-ON RL- HBOOT 3.01.0000 - RADIO 16.11.20.24_M - CID: HTC_304
So after some bad hard reset the phone couldn't boot. I had TWRP installed so tried to wipe from there everything.. After trying that then the phone couldn't boot and only went to bootloader screen and TWRP. Then I tried to flash it and return it to stock so I downloaded:
RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.15.401.100_Rad io_16.21.20.02U_16.09.20.11_M2_release_286571_sign ed
Tried it and although it seemed to start then it finished with an error 155. When removing the cable the black HTC screen left and I saw: hboot version is older update fail.
Can I save this phone somehow? If yes how??
(I can't enter recovery)

Thanks for answering! Just two more question...
1)The file I downloaded is a zip and inside is a firmware.zip. Should I rename the zip file I download to firmware.zip or flash the firware.zip that is inside the zip file I downloaded?
2)Will I ruin the zip file if I open with winrar extract the file needed to change and then drag drop it in winrar (which is already open in a window)?

Unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP, entered it and went to mount USB storage to put the ota.zip inside (cause there is no sd card in this phone), windows asked to format drive and I said yes. That's because you formatted it using windows. Bear in mind, correct formatting can only be done via stock recovery in our case.
That said, now you have to flash STOCK RECOVERY, format SD CARD then.
You can get stock recovery from Firmware.zip inside OTA.zip . Should be recovery.img or recovery_signed.img. extract recovery.Img from firmware.zip and flash it via fastboot.
Then go to bootloader, select Format Storage.
Reflash TWRP and continue with the process.

This time as you said windows didn't need to format the drive and I just put the ota.zip in but got again the same problem. status 6. Could I have done something wrong with the OTA? Should I go the same steps with editting and all or is status 6 another kind of problem?

What I can sense is that the sd partition should have been formatted using CLEAR STORAGE option in bootloader.
Other than that, double check the updater-script, that it has been edited correctly using NOTEPAD++ only, and omitting specific lines.
Try formatting again using stock recovery but using CLEAR STORAGE option, then selecting FACTORY RESET.

so I've got a interesting situation. A friend managed to softbrick his Mini. I don't know how he got it in this state, but, it has TWRP installed, its copy of android does not boot, and it's S-ON. I played with RUUs for a few hours and couldn't get any of them to work. If I can get any working copy of android on it I can then get S-OFF and fix it. As far as I see there's two routes to fix this.
-Get S-OFF without using android
-Get a android ROM on there without S-OFF.
I pretty much have access to fastboot and twrp that can't flash Roms because of s on. Recoveries also have errors about mounting /system or /cache.
Any help in fixing this would be appreciated.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Adding abit more information, I tried using a RUU but get errors because of firmware version. When I get the rom.zip out of the RUU and try to use fastboot to flash it, on windows I get a error about header errors (error 32). On Linux I get errors about the file is too large.
Also, nomatter what recovery I can try, neither can mount either /system or /cache unless you format them, then after a reboot they cant be mounted again.
I had an issue where my os was completely wiped after a botched update attempt. Lol I went through every possible I could think of or find until I see something about using an external drive. So what I did was use fastboot to flash a recovery, which you already have which is good. And then from there I used an OTG cable, and connected my USB drive to it, which had a ROM zip on it and flashed it. It worked. I am bootloader unlocked but not s-off. But as long as you have a recovery you can do this. I actually wasn't even rooted.

You don't need S-OFF to flash roms. As long as you unlocked the bootloader you can fastboot-flash boot, system and recovery. And so you can flash ROMs when in recovery mode.

I followed that and it got me a working recovery, but both twrp versions and the cwm version won't flash the cm zip, regardless if its modified, if I modify it myself or use a attached update-script. Both recoveries simply say "Failed to flash zip".

Then you should repeat the flashing and have a look at the recovery log right after it. At TWRP it's located at /tmp/recovery.log (don't know for CWM).
Either do a
Code:
adb shell cat /tmp/recovery.log
or pull it to your pc:
Code:
adb pull /tmp/recovery.log

Yes, I flashed the bootloader first, then rebooted. I'll try again.
So I got it to work...
I think last night I assumed I rebooted the bootloader...
So yeah....
Is there an order that I should flash in?
Ran into it again. Don't remember the order I did a few hours ago.
Why not just use the included flash-all.bat in the update? It does it all for you
As I've said.
That doesn't work. At the end, after it says flashing radio, it will saying missing boot.img.
Here's the order I'm trying...
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash system system.img
And that's where I get the error I can't load it.

Sorry, I didn't see anywhere where u mentioned flashing the flash-all.bat file.
You could possibly be using a USB 3.0 port which sometimes gives me issues. It will hang on radio or bootloader. I'll unplug and try again from a USB 2.0 port and it will work. It's worth a shot, although it doesn't sound like it's the same issue.

At this point I'd try the flash-all.bat file. It well wipe your device. Boot into the bootloader and then in a command window on your pc opened in the same folder as the flash-all.bat start with fastboot devices. If your device is connected then double click the flash-all.bat file.
