No service or data? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

long story short i took apart my phone the screws under the battery cover to try and fix my head phone jack cause it no longer worked. so after putting every thing back together i get no service at all no data no nothing. i try and make a call it says "mobile network not available". i was rooted and running a custom rom. i did a recovery back to stock and still got the same thing. i even tried using odin to flash back and still got the same thing. Under the status options it says network searching for service mobile network type unknown and service state out of service. the phone also keeps asking me to go into global mode. ive tried taking out the sim card and put it back in with no luck. maybe its a bad sim card? can anybody please help!

No Sim issue?

Okay I have a very interesting situation going on. So I have the Rogers GS2 LTE. Had it unlocked over a year ago. Anyway this weekend I decided to upgrade my step daugher's Captivate with the GS2 LTE. we are both rogers customers on the same account. Anyway, i put her sim card in the phone. and noticed that it wouldn't boot. Finally it booted but got the no sim card error. so I thought that was weird and used ODIN to go back to stock. Still had the issue. Went to Rogers and got a new SIM card for her phone and still got the error.
Then today at work, I was playing around with the phone but only had my Speakout sim card with me. I was in the service menu and i was frustrated so I just started to push buttons and low and behold it reconized the sim card and started to work. I must say I was very pleased with myself that I was able to get it working. (nothing recorded on what I did of course). So i set up the phone and download most of her apps, thinking how great it was that I was able to fix it.
Well I get home and proceed to put her SIM card in the phone. "No Sim Card" again..... So thinking that I screwed it up. I put the speakout sim back in and it works fine. (Speakout runs off rogers towers). I can swap them and rogers won't work but speak out will. now the funny thing I noticed is that with speakout it always shows my data connected at 4G even when I know speak out doesn't offer 4g and we don't have any 4G/LTE near my home.
So I am really at a loss. Since it works with speakout I know it's not a hardware issue. Unless it's a really messed up hardware issue. which only leaves me to the idea it has something to do with that service menu. Now what I am going to attemp is to flash back to stock (rooted her after I thought it was working properly) and then try playing with the menu again.
Either way this is one really messed up phone lolol So anyone else have any suggestions?
Okay so the saga continues.
Yesterday I again did a firmware upgrade via "Kies" and noticed that the phone was getting signal, so i made a test call and it went through fine with the rogers sim. Then all of a sudden went to "No sim inserted" again. Today applied the firmware update again and now i get an initial message of "the mobile network will be unavailable until you restart with a valid sim card" and then the no sim inserted.
This is really starting to drive me crazy lol
Any suggestions? might try taking it back to Gingerbread and then maybe ICS to see if that has any effect. Any other suggestions?
Hey everyone,
Still trying to figure this out So i can make the phone recognize the sim card by doing the following:
*#197328640#
[1] DEBUG SCREEN --> [8] Phone Control --> [5] Simulation --> [3] HW Watchdog wait about 30 seconds then press [1] Force CP Crash.
After this, it seems to dectect the speakout sim card again and work. However after a reboot the sim is not detected again. So from my thinking it's not a hardware issue. i.e. I don't need to replace the sim card "Card" so to speak. What do you all think?

Actually i just tried this again and it doesn't always work. So i'm still at a loss on what the issue is.

Suddenly No service some time after root

So got this shiny new phone and decide to root it for adblock etc.
The root went fine, I used the Xperia-L root zip not the chop--- something. So a while after that, maybe a day or two suddenly I get a No Service.
I went into Settings-Mobile Networks and try to choose the network manually, I couldn't, I can move through Auto and Manual but when I select Manual it always goes back to Automatic. Can you guys confirm that that settings doesn't work? Can you choose Manual instead of Automatic?
Then the phone scanned for available networks and it found my home network relatively easy...
NOW selecting my home network gives me the error "Could not join network right now. Please try again later"(or something like that). A minute after that a toast message pops up "Registered on Network" but I still get no service...
Anyone have any idea? I thought Sony phones are root friendly with them sponsoring CM and all....
I have tried everything. Unlock, relock bootloader, restored TA...flashed stock firmware....taking the sim card out while power is still on and inserting it again.....
So frustrating, thanks for any insight....:fingers-crossed:
It happened with me..
What I did is,
Switched off the phone
Removed SIM card
Restarted phone
Again switch it off
Inserted the SIM card
Restarted the phone..
It worked!

[Q] No network connection

I've been trying to fix my sisters SGS2 Skyrocket all day today to no avail. Ive searched high and low for a solution to my problem.
Basically my problem is that my sisters cell phone will not connect to the ATT mobile network.
Current phone status:
Current version is 4.1.2 Completely Stock
baseband version (I727UCMC1)
Network: Unknown
Signal Strength -95dBm 9 asu
Mobile Network Type: Unknown:0
Service State: Out of Service
Mobile Network State: Disconnected
My Phone Number: x-xxx-xxx-xxxx (the correct number)
IMEI: 3572xxxxxxxxxxx (the correct imei)
IMEISV: 10
When I try to make phone calls it states "Emergency Calls Only"
I can sometimes recieve SMS messages around 45 minutes after they have been sent (which is pretty weird that I get them at all)
It is not a SIM card error, I even went today and got a new SIM card from ATT just to be sure.
I tried calling ATT they did some stuff to it, not sure what. At one point after a fresh restart I was able to make a phone call
and it went threw, hanged up waited a few seconds and tried again and it would say "Dialing" but would not reach an outside line, and the call would end before ever connecting. the ATT tech person said they would put my phone on some kind of list for their tech pros to look at and would get back to me within 5 days. I do not have much faith in that.
I have tried changing the APN settings, tried factory resetting, tried installing CWM recovery and flashing a new modem.
When WIFI is off, the only icons I see are the signal bars with 1 or 2 bars in it, No data connection. Earlier when they were messing with it
4gLTE popped up, and appeared to have a connection but the browser did not work, and I could not make a phone call/send texts.
If anyone has any new suggestions that I can try, im all ears! Thanks for reading!
I'm going to try this:
25d) My phones not behaving normally and I tried methods above still not resolved.
Ok try this:
remove sim(eliminates sim card issues)
remove external sdcard
backup internal sdcard then format(fat32) it
then perform a full wipe: read q.26
copy ucmc1 radio onto sdcard and flash it twice w/out cable plugged in
then use odin to flash jb stock firmware x2.
if still having issues after doing this then its some kind of hw failure, what hw failure idk, could be most likely emmc (memory) failure
This also ended in failure.

most likely but not definitive - either sim card tray or antennae problem, search with those key words for possible fixes

No service [SM-920I]

I can't get a signal on my phone. It keeps showing the "emergency calls only" message. When I try to call someone, it shows an error message: "network not registered".
Weird thing is, it was working flawlessly a few hours ago. I didn't mod it, nothing is different. I just charged it and rebooted.
I tried toggling airplane mode on/off, factory reseting, and it didn't fix my problem. My IMEI shows up correctly on settings, and the phone is being used in the same region I bought it.
OBS: If I put the sim card on another phone, it works. When i put it back on the s6, it keeps working until i reboot it, and after that it doesnt register on the carrier network anymore.
Anyone can help me with this?
No one?
I've exhausted all my known options! I can't keep a phone that can't even be turned off. If the phone freezes, that means I'll not have a signal until i can find another phone to put my sim on, and then back again on mine...
I'd really appreciate some help, since support where I live is crappy and chances are that i'll have to take the loss on the defective phone if I can't fix it.
Went to the carrier, tried other sims, even other carriers sims. Still nothing.
You can't get warranty from who you bought it from or else samsung? it sounds like a defect somewhere, if you are lucky it could just be the simcard tray but else it is something inside the phone

Mobile Networks missing

it is my uncle's phone
SM-G920F Galaxy S6 (G20FXXU5DQA2)
flashed back to stock and everything is 100% stock but the mobile networks in settings is missing and the sim cards wont work, it detects them being inserted but doesnt seem to connect.
Please help, couldn't find anything
Messing around with mobile data gives "insert sim card"
tried to factory reset from recovery, clearing the cache and reset from the Smart Switch desktop software.
Could possibly be an issue with the sim card slot, does the phone show a valid imei number?

100% hw, faulty SIM reader, cold solder, or something else on motherboard.
Try to ask in Samsung authorised repair center, maybe if you are lucky like me, factory warranty would be accepted.
I just told them I bought the phone second hand and it does not recognize SIM, did not go into details
force stop stuck on s6

The same thing happened to my G920P and I was stressing out looking for a solution. Finally, I figured it out myself.... I used idonne apps unlocking service awhile ago and still had their unlock app installed on my device. After trying repeatedly to no avail to unlock again I finally started looking thru the 3 dot settings and manuvered to the IOT HIDDEN SETTINGS TAB. From there I went to the "test mode menu" setting. Then to HW Test setting, down to #7 NV Rebuild All. Clicked that and let it do it's thing and all settings returned, no more stressing. Hope it works for you.
