I was having trouble bootloader unlocking my Telus locked Moto G, but I had seen somewhere that someone had sucess flashing a different firmware and then unlocking it. So I flashed the British Retail firmware and now I have no mobile network and it asks for an unlock code at each boot up. I've tried the Brazilian retail firmware to see if it would fix it but it didn't, pretty sure I need the Telus firmware.

I assume it's asking for a network unlock code? You have any luck with locating the Telus firmware?

That network unlock screen should ONLY APPEAR only if you are using a sim that the phone is not locked too ( different carrier)

I didn't say I didn't believe you.... When you say network lock when it says that is it a blank screen with a text box in the middle? Unless it really screwed up your modem cause when flashing other firmware it can really screw things up.

Yeah it's a blank screen with a text box in the middle.. I probably did screw up my modem, do you have any idea where I could get the Telus modem or firmware?

I have yet to find the Telus stock firmware. But what I've exsperinaced from other phones when the modem gets screwed up it messes with the efs and if it wasn't backed up there's no way to get it back. But in this case it's weird lol. Somehow your phone is locked to a network which I've never seen happen before.

Darn... Any idea if getting the unlock code would fix it so that I could use mobile network again?
Reflash stock and all will be OK, don't forget to wipe data. It happen to me a couple days ago.

The APN menu isn't very intuitive, you have to type in all the details then tap the three-dot-menu-button-thing on the top right and then tap 'Save'. Once you've done that, in the list of APNs you need to tap inside the little radio toggle along side the APN you just typed in on the list to select it and activate your settings.
Hope that helps.

I tried already haha I press save and then the apn doesn't show up
Would it be possible to extract the modem files from the linked firmware and flash it via fastboot?
Tried that too.. I need to get the Telus modem somehow

Yes, very same problem, solved by flashing the stock telcel firmware (my carrier) also wiping data. It's a must in order to fix that. Otherwise you have no signal, home button don't work and power options are gone.

your the second person i have seen this happen to i would say reflash the 186.43.15 with rsd to see if that fixes it here use @SamuriHL s full script http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-hd/general/fxz-4-4-2-183-46-15-t2873083
wait before you do that had you radio unlocked before? you may need to unlock your radio again if you on another carrier other than vzw

no you do not need to be unlocked to flash with rsd but before reflashing try sim/radio unlocking your phone again with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389740 to see if that is the problem

glad your up and running
new to the phone, bought yesterday for temp use, same thing happened, i just removed the sim, did a factory reset and now it works.
Glad to see you got this resolved. Hoping I don't have this issue when I update.
My friend accidently bought HTC one M8 verizon from UAE, the phone is new with kitkat 4.4.2, everything is fine but when he tried to update the rom, it failed and says that software update only works in CDMA mode, this is what i actually dont understand, is this locked or unlocked mobile? and is there any possibility to unlock this phone like normal unlocked M8?
To actually update the software via ota you will have to be on Verizon's network. It comes globally unlocked meaning that it is capable of being used on other networks and such, but the problem you are running into is the fact that you are not on Verizon's network so you cannot update their software. If you are s-off there are stickies that contain the firmware and updated bootloaders that you can flash so that your software is all up to date. If you are still s-on and want to update I believe there is a 4.4.4 RUU that works for s-on in that same thread. If you are wanting to s-off it will prolly be easier to use sunshine on 4.4.2 since it works without problems, where on 4.4.4 you can get s-off with sunshine, however there are some users who are still not able to get it yet.

All you need is a verizon sim card. Install it, get the update and after it finishes, replace it with your carrier sim card again.

You could be right.
My point is that I used a verizon sim card (deactivated) to download two updates via wifi. The phone probably wants to verify that somehow the phone is in verizon's network and checks the sim card only. My m8 also was 4.4.2, after two updates now is 4.4.4.

My IMEI became null due to flashing by LG Flash tool. So i repaired imei using QPST and RF_NV_Manager, but then my phone is carrier locked now. When i enter into network lock through code 2945#*850#, it displays "This phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked". So i either cannot unlock it through an unlock code. Is there any other way?
I have the same issue as i think entered codes multiple time. PHONE PERMANENTLY LOCKED..
i found no solution yet.. I think there is no easy method.
This is a great phone & I want to use it longer.
Any solutions anyone please?

Hi guys!
I downloaded the ukraine stock firmware(5.1.1) and flashed it onto my phone. But I have 2 problems:
1. The shutdown isn't working or is terribly slow. When I select power off it just shows the spinning wheel and it says shutting down.
2.The phone doesn't read my sim card. I insert it and it restarts but it doesn't detect the pin and networks. It's like the sim isn't there.
Thank you for your replies!

The simlock data is stored into the Trim Area partition and that partition cannot be modified. Once it's locked, it's locked forever :/
