New to One X (Rogers)

Hiya every one,
I just recently switched from a SGS2 Skyrocket to this One X Evita
I have a few questions,
1. I've already unlocked the bootloader and done the root guide for the rogers one x, and in the bootloader menu it says **tampered** and **unlocked** which is what i want if im not mistaken, however i do not have a SuperSU or Superuser app in my phone's menus, so the question is should I? or do i just download one from the playstore?
2. On a scale of 1 to 10 what would people rate the difficulty of flashing custom software on this phone as?

1 your doing it right. Download supersu from the playstore. Run it. Then GooManager from the playstore. Install TWRP (it is a recovery for your phone) by clicking the menu button and selecting install openrecoveryscript.
Then you can download a Rom onto your sd card, and flash it through your newly installed twrp.

Great now they will ad no flashing while driving to the no texting while driving. What you get a ticket for? flashing while driving

Just tried supersu and I was told no binaries are installed
Edit I think I know where I failed as I forgot to run the bat as admin
Edit 2: Got SuperSu up and running, and flashed TWRP through Goomanger, I'm used to CWM on the skyrocket so hopefully not much of a difference

[Q] help~CM10,NTFS sd card ERROR

hello
After I flash CM10 builds,
i had formart sdcard to NTFS
my phone couldn't find the sdcard.
i try to mount sdcard in recovery but error
what can i do now?
please give me a help~~

1. check ur bootloader version if its 1.09 or lower get supercid ...relock ur phone and download rogers 1.73 or att 1.85 ruu
and proceed
or if ur bootloader version is.higher than
tell.me the version and your carrier name...

Help me, mine wont upgrade to 4.2.2

i been struggling to find some solution on how to update via ota. i downloaded the file and when i was installing it stop at halfway and then it shows a red triangle caution sign. and after a minute it reboots, and nothing happened. my device is k2_ul asian version. and i cant find any RUU for it.

Are you S-Off? S-On? locked bootloader? unlocked bootloader? custom hboot? Custom boot? Missing system apps or files in general?
In other words, your phone must be restored to stock in everything or the ota will fail. This includes the recovery as well. CWM or TWRP will not work for OTA's at the moment. S-On or S-Off won't render you from getting your OTA. The purpose of knowing it is so one will know what steps to take depending on the problem at hand.

[Q] Revert to Stock for updates

To some of you this might sound dumb, but I indulged in rooting and s-off my m8, and am initerested in going back to stock and update. Every time I use the 0P6BIMG.zip su always comes back with it and I am unable to update. Any idea on what I can do to fix this or no? Thanks in advance.

You can always flash twrp an then update su app. Then do a full unroot then flash stock recovery an you should be good or
Download a stock odex ROM an uninstall su an then flash stock recovery

For your first option by stock recovery, will loading 0P6BIMG.zip work?

You would need to fastboot a stock recovery after you did everything needed to remove su... If you are a experience Linux user you can remove su from ruu before you flash it easy.

So u want to be stock to take ota just do one if 2 ways I said before. Myself I wouldn't take ota I would just flash firmware an flash a ROM an you be up to date.

If you are on the latest firmware but your custom rom is not running the new firmware will your phone show the old firmware ? Asking because I tried updating firmware a while back but I"am running viperone 1.8 and I think they have not updated the rom to the new firmware I have no clue why they have not as most roms have. And I dont want to ask on the rom forum because they the devs are a bit touchy about people asking about updates on the rom and I tried asking on the rom forum before and no one replied about it. I just know verizon told me that the new firmware is supposed to help with weak coverage areas like where I"am and they advised me to update my software to 1.55.605.2 and my phone shows 1.54.401.5 CL325784 This was what verizon told me back on 6-28-14

You can check your firmware an radios via the boot loader that will show u what firmware your on...your build keys r only what firmware your ROM is based on. There for viper being base in the international firmware which is 1.54. That is why you are seeing that info under about phone. Hey no worries you can post an ask things here no one will jump you like other places. If you have not updated to 1.55 from the old one which I believe was 1.12 or something like that. I would update the firmware to get the latest stuff like radios/hboot an etc.

My bootloader screen does not list the firmware it shows the hboot number and the radio which the radio is the latest one, which may be because I had flashed the new radio on its own so I may still not have the new firmware. It also lists april 1st 2014 and the hboot is 3.16.0.0000 So viperone uses the international firmware for the cdma verizon and sprint that seems odd ? Is the 1.54 the newest international firmware then ?

What does your OS in boot loader? That would be your firmware. An yea viper plus others base there Roms off 1.54 firmware. I don't use viper myself but pretty sure that's always up to date.
Edit. You can update your firmware an run viper no problem at all if that is what your wondering. As my wife m8 does run viper an she is up to date on everything. No issue at all. FYI.

So I might have messed up my phone (hopefully not). I was trying to back to stock but the RUU comes with SU installed, I already used this to "lock" my bootloader, and now firewater when i run it says the following "there really isn't a helluva lot to do here. bye bye".
if you have any suggestions let me know. For what you told me I want to go back to unlocked but might have screwed the pooch with the bootloader lock.

Hboot- 2.18.000
Cid-1111
Radio- 1.35.32.45.27
1. Can I able to update it to the Latest RUU- 5.18.502.1 ?? Downloaded from HTC site, Am not using at&t SIM...
2. Can I able to update it to insertcoin Rom?? Do I need to flash boot.img file?? Because I tied to install this Rom...got struck at HTC logo!!!
I like BlinkFeed app......but in viperXL Rom it's not there....
So please give me ur valuable suggestions

Thanks.. I tried without fastboot mode... Couldn't load either... While installing around 70%. Comes then suddenly it disappeared.and goes to recovery mode.
Then I restarted it struck at logo
I checked nd5 sum also..it's good...

Listen here. I never once mentioned the type of ROM he wants to flash. I told him that its ok to flash ruu as he's s off.. Its not bad advice. Now if I said "hell yea..flash that insert coin ROM, you would have a valid point.

You told him he doesn't need to flash the boot.img using fastboot, which in turn means he can flash the ROM via TWRP. The point is that you didn't pick up on the fact that this ROM isn't for this device and continued to instruct him on how to flash it. You're the one who isn't properly analysing situations before posting advice, not me, so it's on your head when something bad happens, I'm just trying to save you from bricking someone's phone.

Yeah, like I said, that ROM isn't for our phone. You got it from the HTC One X (Endeavoru) forum which isn't your phone. You need to stay within the HTC One XL (Evita) section and only download your ROMs from there.

If you don't see anything wrong with the advice you've been giving to people then please continue, I've done my best to try and help the situation, but you clearly can't handle being told you're doing something wrong even when you're actually doing something wrong. It's your call and it's on your head when something goes wrong, just be prepared to fork out a few hundred.

Currently am on ViperXL 4.2.0 Rom
Am experiencing battery drain issue and
mobile data isssue like data shows '3G' no internet connection..only in 'H' am getting internet...
Am searched some threads but no use...
Tried to change the mode to gsm only then LET... No use...

Asking which ROM is best/most stable/fastest/prettiest, or asking for a suggestion isn't allowed so I can't answer that, here's why. To say one ROM is better is to infer that the others are inferior in some way. This is disrespectful to the devs who spend their spare time bringing us these awesome ROMs free of charge. Each user has different tastes anyway, the best way to see which ROM suits you is to flash a few and find out for yourself.
But, you know that 'H' is better than '3g', right? So having that connection is better than having a 3g connection.
