does anyone know if the Nexus 5 has some kind of sticker or indicator that states whether the back panel has been opened or not? I mean, if I remove the back panel of my Nexus 5, how will Google know that I've opened it?

Never happened on any of the six N5 I used (EU model, D821), nor on my 2012 N7 3G.
I haven't seen this issue on N5.
It happened to me once when I had Galaxy Nexus.
I think it depends on the server where you are downloading from.
In this particular case it seems to be google play.
Are you using any apps to get to the market? I know people from outside of US are using them.
Does anyone know if this case exists for the Nexus 5? My dad has it, and it is awesome.

Yeah, it comes with a small allen tool, and you actually bolt it together.
Don't hold your breath waiting for them to make one for the N5.
And if you have a custom ROM it shows it
