I just got the Sprint GS5 last week and have been slowly Turning OFF some of the bloat ware and downloading apps that I use. The past couple of days I have noticed that I charge my phone to %100 before I go to bed. I sleep for like 5 hours and when I wake up my phone has dropped to %89 battery. I went to settings>battery and have noticed that NFC services is causing the most batter drain....even though I have turned it off, forced stop and turned of S beam. I have also tried to turn it off and then reboot and charge phone, but I still see the NFC services draining my battery. Can someone please help?

I personally do not use NFC so I just froze the service in Titanium Backup.

I am not rooted and it won't let me turn nfc off. When I click on the tab in settings, it is gray and "on". It won't let me change it.

That is odd. You should be able to toggle it off in the settings.

Yeah, I know but when I go to that screen, it is grayed out and I can't toggle to off. It's also the cause of my battery drain. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried turning off the phone and pulling the battery? If that doesn't work the only other thing I can think of is a factory reset.

I kept my (at 100% when I went to sleep) phone unplugged last night while I slept to see how it does when it's idle. (when I'm working I'm running WiFi tether which obviously sucks battery life so I've not seen how it sits.
6 hours later I woke up to A battery at 71%, which was kind of surprising. I've attached some screen shots.
I run CleanROM 6 with its stock kernel. Would a different kernel help?

Are you on Wi-Fi at home? I've read some people having this issue and they've turned off the Wi-Fi power management feature and it seems to resolve this. Settings--wi-fi--menu key-- advanced should get you to the right menu (I'm on an aosp rom so not sure if it's in the same exact place).
Also an app like Better Battery Stats might provide more specific information about whatever is draining you.

Same place I described. It's the box "Wi-Fi optimization."
Thanks Dearborn! I just changed the setting so hopefully it works! I didn't even know that existed!

I have the same prob since CR6v2 (50% Google Service batt use when relatively idle) and have always had my wifi set to stay on when sleeping (assuming that's the setting you're talking about). It seems clear via GSAM and normal batt stats that Google Services is causing wakelock. GSAM says, "included packages Google Contacts Sync" but I'm not sure if that's conclusive or if it's just providing an example.
So ive been using PA 4.3 for a couple of days now and ive noticed that google services is using up my battery. I do have location services on, only have GPS satellites ticked and WiFi & Mobile network location unticked. Is there any other way of google services to stop draining my battery? I did turn off Location services for 1 day and to be honest battery life didnt change..

EDIT 1: Managed to fix google services, all i did was update the gapps then google services never came back up. Still have GPS on.
EDIT 2: Encounter another problem after installed new gapps Android system use to use 70% of my battery but now its only under 10%. Battery life amazing so far! GPS still on. I didnt freeze anything. I didnt use any app to fix these issues.

I've read about this same issue on different ROMs and phones recently. We all have to remember that the 4.3 ROMs are still in the very early stages and bugs like this are to be expected but will be clearing up soon. In the meantime, depending on how much you rely on Google services, this might be useful to you:

If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I'd be making money in a very weird way.
Its a known issue.. Freezing Google service might solve it.. And share me that dollah!!

2 hours odd bare usage only phone calls ...............
I have a terrible battery drain when my phone is idle. Tried everything, but nothing solved it. Ever since Lollipop I have this issue.
Clean flashed MM and still nop. Flashed ElementalX 6.04 yesterday which still couldn't solve it. This is frustrating :crying::crying:
I have disabled everything too. No Wifi, data, bluetooth, location...etc (My phone is not a smart phone anymore)
Only adaptive brightness is enabled.
Yesterday I fully charged and went to sleep to find out it has drained 28% after a 7 hours sleep. Removed all the unpopular apps (suspicious apps) as well. BetterBatteryStatus says my phone has been in DEEP SLEEP throughout the whole time too.
Please give me a solution

How old is your phone?? You might need to replace the battery. Especially you've already done everything from kernel, to clean flash to disabling apps and settings
your bstats also tells no abnormality? how about its partial wakelocks? can you post those so we can check it out?

According to BBS my phone has been in deep sleep throughout the whole time. I'm assuming its the battery, I need to replace it may be.
I charged my phone again. I will post partial wakelocks too in few hours time.
Thanks alot
Even though it may not make a huge difference but you can try draining the battery out to 0 (until the phone can't stay on even after a force power on) and a full charge (30 mins to an hour overcharging after you see full battery indicator).. Gluck.
I replaced my battery, I was getting hard reboots as well. But wow with a new battery and marshmallow my nexus is like a new device.
99% no or unknown signal.
That could be the cause of your drain, when the phone has no signal or poor signal it will use a lot of battery to keep the connection alive. Set aeroplane mode on

Hi all,
This is my first post so sorry if it's the wrong place or just plain stupid.
Under power management, the power consuming apps section displays "currently no apps to report" for both unused apps and consuming apps. Anyone else have this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Normal. That means you have no misbehaving apps consuming an abnormal amount of battery
Here's mine

I forgot to close my SSH client some weeks ago (with an active connection to my home router), and it was reported
Thanks for clearing that up. Only got my phone on Sunday just been trying to work out why the battery is going down quick. Used about 25% since 9 am this morning.

But under battery /screen how much time has the screen been on?
Sent from my Xperia z5 using Tapatalk
Well it's now 15:16 and I'm now on 39% total screen time 2:44.
This is with brightness at lower setting and no wifi only mobile 4g.
I've been using chrome a fair bit and Spotify
But Spotify doesn't seem to actually effect my battery much at all.
How does that compare to others?
Just want to know if it's normal.
Thanks again
Ignore me. It's chrome it's used 43% of my battery.
I guess thats the rma (radio mobile active) bug , try disabling mobile data and use wifi to see if there is a difference in battery drain

Guyz, m not using WiFi even for a minute but in battery stats it's always on, and i think it's eating my battery faster.
Any solution or anyone else facing it?

We all have the same issue.
I asked myself, if debloating the P7P is worth to increase Smoothness and Battery Consumption and get rid off the Bloatware.
Any Advices?
I haven't disabled or uninstalled any of the apps that came with the phone and the phone is really smooth and I am getting really good battery. My overnight idle drain last night (9 hrs) was .45%/hr and it sits now at .53%/hr.

I wish my standby was that low. I'm at 1.1%/hr right now. Not in a super strong signal area though.
It's a Google phone. Not much to debloat, is there?

Nope. That's one reason people get Pixels
I uninstalled a couple of apps I will not use, and was only able to disable one or two more. But if you really need to you can use ADB, or a GUI app utilizing ADB to do the same. Remember that in most circumstances when you "delete" an app it is really not deleted but just made unavailable to user number 0 (zero) which is the main user = you!

Debloating a pixel for smoothness and better battery life? Ugh... This isn't the early 2000's dude. Placebo is awesome though.
