How To: Install Sony's New PlayStation Mobile For Android On Any Rooted Device

Sony's PlayStation Mobile for Android just went live for certified devices last night. But what if you don't have a certified device, which so far includes only a number of Sony phones and tablets as well as the HTC One series? Heck, I have a One series device - the EVO LTE - but turns out it's not certified. That's just silly.
Not a problem - if you have root on your phone or tablet, getting the PSM (PlayStation Mobile) apk to work is a matter of pushing a few files it relies on to your /system directory and rebooting. Original credit goes to XxXPachaXxX - I used his work from a few months ago, took out some extra unnecessary Bravia engine stuff, and repacked it into a flashable zip for use with the PSM.

On the Nexus 7, I was able to play the free game and successfully tested a paid game called Fuel Tiracas. They both worked wonderfully. I also bought Samurai Beatdown, but for some reason it didn't install right (I tried 3 times but the download just said installation unsuccessful, hmmm).
Unfortunately, PSM crashes upon loading the store front on my EVO LTE. If you're not using a certified device, don't be surprised if it crashes on yours too - after all, it wasn't certified and, therefore, not tested.

Step 1.
Download and install the latest PSM apk from Sony. I mirrored the current version, 1.0, here:

If you try to run the PSM app now, you'll likely get this:
Step 2.
Download the flashable zip I packed from one of these mirrors:

Step 3.
Note: Just to be clear once again, you have to be rooted to install the helper files com.playstation.playstationcertified.jar and com.playstation.playstationcertified.xml. If you're not rooted yet, first figure out how to do so to your device and then come back.
Flash the zip from custom recovery, like ClockworkMod or TWRP. This relies on having busybox, which if you're rooted, you likely already do.
Alternatively, if you don't want to flash from recovery or just like to know what you're doing, you can perform the steps manually while booted into Android:
Unzip the zip file downloaded in step 2.
Copy playcertetcpermissionscom.playstation.playstationcertified.xml to /system/etc/permissions/ on your device.
Copy playcertframeworkcom.playstation.playstationcertified.jar to /system/framework/ on your device.
Set the permissions on com.playstation.playstationcertified.jar to 644 (read/write, read, read) using your favorite file manager or command line.
Reboot.
At this point, PSM should work just fine and you should no longer see the error from Step 1. Go register for a Sony Entertainment Network account if you haven't yet and try playing some games.

I'm on the Galaxy Nexus on JB and I'm getting "Unfortunately, PSM has stopped" after it finishes logging in and loads the main page.

I have installed it and followd all the steps.
But it isnt working on my rooted note with 4.0.4.
When i log in the program says "its not availeble in your region/country" (Netherlands)
thats a shame

I followed the steps perfectly and loads up fine, but hits homescreen then force closes.

I was hoping for PSP/PS1 games, but nope. (Mainly the ones I already own, hoping I can just dl them.)
Mostly indy/casual games.

Works great on my Xperia Ray, too bad that there is only paid games

How to Connect Sony DriveLink (MirrorLink) With GS4

Intro
This is a tutorial for how to use Sony's car system(s) to their maximum potential. I cant guarantee this works with every model, however, because I only have the XAV601BT (seen in picture above). Before you do this, you need to make sure the latest firmware is installed. For a guide on that CLICK HERE.(NOTE: This link is for the XAV601BT. If you have a different device, go HERE, enter your model number on the bottom left, and click "Update to the Latest Firmware")
Step 1: Enable "Unknown Sources"
From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > More tab > Security.
Tap Unknown Sources.
A check mark is displayed to indicate it is active.
This is to make your phone allow the instillation of the modded DriveLink.
Step 2: Download the Mod
On your phone, go to the following link (I will post mirrors at the bottom):

Step 3: Install
Now, from the Home screen, tap Apps > Downloads > DriveLink.apk.
You should see this:
Scroll to the bottom, and hit Install.
Note: This app does not cost money. The reason it says that is because it has the ability to answer and make phone calls/texts.
Step 4: Connect to USB
Finally, you need to open MirrorLink on your system. Connect your phone (use your charger cable), and the DriveLink application should instantly start.
Note: You will still get an error on the system when you plug your phone in saying the phone isn't compatible, but you can just ignore it.
Conclusion
I really hope this could help! I spent a while troubleshooting this problem, and luckily found a working link by AuRoN89. It managed to save me money on an additional navigation system. If you have any questions or concerns about this, I will try my best to help. I didn't make this modded version, so I can't answer any questions about what was changed. This guide was simply made as a resource for other people who couldn't find any information on this.

Recently installed a Pioneer AppRadio3 head unit. Had DriveLink working perfectly until AT&T pushed the KitKat update OTA. Now DriveLink won't open. I want my old ROM back.

Any more news? I have installed custom lollipop (on the internet it saids mirrorlink is supported in lollipop) but can't find it en if I install drive link I got the same error (drive link is stopped working).

Bump. I was unfortunate to be stuck with an ATT s4 that had the 4.4.2 update preinstalled (**** you ATT)... and I bought a used sony XAV-601BT thinking this would work... nope.

I have a note 4 with mirror link, and a XAV-601BT, is there no hope for me? I did the firmware update on the head unit, but nothing. Phone just kind of ***** out saying its in mirror link, and head unit keeps saying reconnect phone.

Works but need the normal permissions version. I am on an xt1060, 442 unrooted. Do not need any libs. I have many other cams also so my libs may be reinforced, not sure.

Yes, i downloaded the full permission version, clicked on Apk with Oi Filemanager, installed and when i click it, says camera crash :/, but gallery works

it disconnects sim network and phone cant receive calls or sms
after reboot network connection works again but fcs for ppp widget

same as xperia s paranoid :/ huawei with PLUS-PL network.
I try this too on lg l7 2 but there its probably a problem with OTG - not supported? Idk.

You have to disable that option I thicked in the video, related to the network disable and try again. The FC-ing after reboot it's normal, there's nothing to be done about it. Just delete and set it again. Sorry for late reply, I was in my county with no signal at all. So to sum up, all you have to do is follow the same steps as I did in my video guys, without having to check that DISABLE MOBILE SUBSYTEM box.

Not all devices will work. Parameters may vary from phone to phone. You need a kernel capable of ppp driver. You may try flashing different ones and see if your phone recognises the modem.

You have to know if hellscore kernel has PPP Drivers in it. Ask the dev about it or try another kernel. PPP Drivers are a must.

As I said, you should be running a custom kernel with PPP Driver. You problem may be caused by that but also by your OTG or modem.

Which kernel are you using???

Run android 7.1 with root on any android device !!

F1 VM virtual Android 7.1 system, not restricted by mobile phone system. Even mobile phones with 5.1 system can run F1 VM with built-in 7.1 system.
F1 VM (means "five one virtual machine"), Android virtual system on mobile devices, also known as Android Virtual Machine (referred to as VM, namely virtual machine, similar software on PC likes VMWare, VirtualBox). Even when F1 VM run into the background, the games and applications running in the F1 VM can continue to run in a small window(Picture-in-picture mode). F1 VM can also run on screenoff!
The F1 VM is a virtual environment that isolate from your mobile phone system. The installation of rogue software in the F1 VM will not affect your mobile phone. There is no need to worry about the risk of viruses and system crashes, and it will not leak the your mobile phone information.

You need to run the full version from the site. The version from google play don't have root.

Working nicely on my Samsung A71.
VIPER4ANDROID works also and shows drivers installed, on, processing normal.
But when I change any effects, I don't feel anything changed.
VIPER4ANDROID always default shows speaker mode, but I tried all headset, speaker, Bluetooth modes on/off.

Note for navigators:
f1vm does not work with devices that carry the new VERSION UI12 of Samsung (I do not know if with any other one).
It freezes unexpectedly and becomes inoperative, a pity, because this emulator is one of the best I've tried on the market. It was even better than Parallel Space (which also fails in all versions from the free to the pro).

From September 1, 2021 forward, Android devices still running pre-Android 7.1. 1A will face connectivity issues for a large number of sites and services.

I would say thank you for this awesome program, works like a God, I have a zte phone with locked bootloader and fastboot disabled, I tried vmos also but roms have always problems, I don't tried x8, but after trying f1 vm I have everything, root, xposed Google services, and I can install everything like YouTube Vanced, the only thing I hate is that I can't write nothing on system partition, I can delete files but not write (for example I can't use adaway), I can't use also vpn, a very shame.
