Wow with this I think most of our Z1Cs can be heavy utilized and still last three days easily...
I went and ordered one. I'm wondering (if I don't mind the extra bulk) if I can just leave it in the case and keep the case charged up via USB. Has anyone else used this type of battery /case before?

I think that could be doable, if the case have an "off" switch so that it does not charge the phone all the time.
I think its inadvisable to charge the phone from the case while the case itself is charging, at least that was the case (no pun intended) with the external battery case I had for my old galaxy s2.
please make a quick review when you get the case!
(the one i got for the s2 was advertised as 2200mAh, but in use it was not even 1000mAh, it only charged the phone about 40-50% even if the phone itself was turned off while charging from the case. I kept it anyway since it was quite convenient to charge the phone "in the pocket" so to speak)

From the brando link:
" Please Charge the Battery Case and Sony Xperia Z1 compact / Z1f Separately. (Do Not Charge the Battery Case and Sony Xperia Z1 compact / Z1f At the Same Time)"
Looking forward to a tiny review aswell

Yoko
I wasn't exactly sure how to interpret that, since it would actually be possible to connect USB cables to both parts simultaneously.

Not to be a "mister know it all", but I think the micro usb port on the phone is covered by the case. it looks like it in the pictures anyway.

Very observant, you are correct, sir. I guess that answers my question.
This phone already has great battery life- I still had 80% left when I got home from work yesterday, so I guess the extra battery might come in handy for camping trips and stuff like that, but I wouldn't want to have to take it out of the case every time I was charging it. Daily use might not be practical.
I'll post my first impressions of it as soon as it gets here and I've had a day or so to play with it.
dave
No worries, the instruction manual explicitly mentioned that you can certainly charge the phone while it's attached to the case, and it will charge the phone first before charging the battery. :good:

Unfortunately for me, it arrived with a broken packaging case... I reluctantly threw it away due to the sharp broken edges. The case itself is fine.
You can see that the case is drawing about 1 A input to charge the phone first (charging the battery does reduce that to its specified 800 mA rating)
The connector, overall I will say the case is well-constructed. The clips latch on the the phone easily and yet firmly, so you don't have to worry about them separating accidentally or scratching the phone's metallic frame. The dimensions are spot-on and it feels good in the hand.
The positioning of the microUSB port meant that it can even prop the case up vertically.
Here, you can see the tapered side profile and unobstructed microSD card slot. This is one advantage over the equivalent version for the Z1.
The cut-out for the camera is just nice, and you should also be able to see the glossy white surface. I had the impression it was going to matt from the Brando website's photos though, not a big issue...
The kickstand in action. Unfortunately, this is where I have to deduct some points off the case... the kickstand is a little short and requires an absolutely flat surface to be stable. It is quite easy to push the phone over otherwise. In other words, it gets the job done, but just barely.
Mine came in last night, and the box it came in was also cracked in one corner. Your review is spot on. I got the black one, which does have a matte finish. The only thing I would add is that they could have rounded the hard corners a little bit more to make it a little more comfortable in the hand. It does double the thickness of the phone. I always carry mine in a holster, so that doesn't bother me a bit, but it might be an issue if you normally carry it in your jeans pocket. It will take a few days to see how well it works, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

I am very interested in hearing back about the battery capacity, about how long the phone can keep going when both batteries are charged.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Sorry to burst the bubble of anyone monitoring this thread, but after weeks of usage, I realized the battery capacity does not live up to the claims on the website. My observations:
The battery is fully depleted in about two hours, and can only recharge no more than 70% of the Z1 Compact's internal battery. This puts the actual capacity at around 1600 to 1800 mAh.
The battery indicator is not well-calibrated. According to it, the first 25% of the battery is depleted in about 10 minutes, and the next 50% is depleted in almost 2 hours, meaning about 25% in less than hour. The last 25% is also depleted quickly. The discharge rate is inconsistent with the constant charging rate I see for the Z1 Compact's internal battery.
My testing was done while the phone is idling, and I wasn't using the phone at all while it was being charged by the Power Jacket. Wi-Fi is enabled. I have feedback this to Brando Workshop, let's see what they have to say... maybe I got a defective unit.
You must have gotten a defective unit. I haven't done any kind of exhaustive tests, but mine charges the phone from around 70% back up to 100% more quickly than the wall charger does, and I've hardly put a dent in the external battery charge. I'm pretty confident I can use the phone pretty heavily for a couple of days between charges.
Mugen Power is now making an external battery case for the z1c, but I haven't seen any pics of it yet.
dave
Have you tried to fully deplete the Power Jacket? E.g. run the Z1 Compact down to say 10% battery life and then see if there's still some power left after charging the phone fully.
I suspect your wall charger is charging slower than 1A, because my wall charger can deliver 1.2+ A to the phone easily through the magnetic charging contacts or micro-USB.
Maybe it wasn't mentioned clearly in my original post, but the Power Jacket does seem to charge my phone in the region of 1 A, I'm just dismayed that the capacity on mine is so weak.
I'll have to give that a try and get back to you. I was a little curious why the Mugen costs so much more than the Bando (it's around $90).

I ran my phone's battery down to 10% yesterday, then charged it with the battery case, which was fully charged, and I got similar results to yours. I'm not sure that this means a discrepancy from the claimed capacity of the battery case, though. I'm not an electrical engineer, but theorizing that when the amount of charge in the case matches the amount in the phone, there is no longer a voltage differential to move a charge from one to the other.
In other words, if you were charging a dead phone with a fully charged case, only about half of the capacity of the case would move to the phone, which would be about 1600mah, which would only provide about a 70% charge. That matches the numbers you came up with. As long as the case has more charge than the phone, you'll still get a charge from it.

That's not quite how a battery charging works, but if it does, then you should be able to charge the phone again when its battery level goes down.
I seriously doubt that's possible though.
//Gunnar
Battery voltage drops as it loses its charge. An external charger connected to a power source will maintain sufficient voltage to fully charge a battery, but with the battery case you're basically just connecting 2 lithium batteries in parallel, so the current will only move as long as there is a voltage difference between them.
It's possible that the more expensive Mugen case has additional circuitry to maintain the higher voltage to fully charge the phone's battery.

Hello Guys
I would like to buy the brando battery case but I have a question, why is not possible to charge phone and buttery at the same time?
I understand that the battery case will cover the micro usb port, but what if I cut it to uncover the port?
thanks
It's not necessary to remove the phone from the case while charging. If you have the case turned on, the phone will fully charge first. The case will then shut off from the phone and charge on it's own.

this is interesting... is the s3 battery rated at 3.8v too? also, did you really see that 16% improvement in battery life?
Battery life is better yes. And most cell phone batteries are 3.8 volts, and report as "full" at around 4.2 volts, although the app I use for battery monitoring shows the relay is charging my battery to 4.3 volts.

The stock battery life on our phone is pretty decent. But I wonder what kind of extended slim battery options we have for our phone specifially....
Great mod Nard. The S3 battery is very common and I think all aftermarket extended slim batteries for the S3 should work as well. As long as you don't have a problem ghetto rigging it, we can get a lot more juice for out phones. And it retains NFC. Massive plus

Holy cow, an extra 28% battery life for under $5? Heck yes! Just ordered this.
Edit: Don't see NFC mentioned anywhere... I don't use NFC, but just in case I decide I want to start, I'll pick up one of these, and solder the guy on if I need to. Looks to be about the right size.

I have one S3 battery, though from KINPS with 3250mAh that I got last time, which is 5mm thick (1mm more than ours) and should be allegedly same size to the S3 stock one.
But I am not able to close the back cover when I want to use it according to your instruction. that 1mm is definitely too thick and does not let me close it.
would you please confirm that yours is 5mm also or is it less than that?
if the prior, how did you manage to close the back cover?
if the latter, i would go buy a S3 stock battery.
If it's really that tight, I would try and carefully remove the sticker and see if it fits.
Compare it to the stock battery. Shouldn't be much thicker than that

I got a 3 pack of those batteries. All the three of them are just lying at home, their actual capacity was 2100mAh. Besides it didn't charge over 87%, which is 1800mAh approx. Don't know what the problem was, guessing it was the maximum voltage the battery could be pushed to using the phone. :/

Actually the big possibility behind this is samsung has a battery overcharge feature...which is why your battery may only get that high...also Another cause might be to check and make sure your charger is outputting 5v 800ma as thats what is required by phone...i use stock charger with my 5000mah extended battery and loving it...gets full charge with both stock and extended battery....also to note...because of this overcharge feature depending on bad flash or similar it may actually brick your batteries (yes its possible). A prime example is i thought my old relay was bricked...when i got new relay i tried charging the battery from old phone and got the bootloop of death like i did on my old relay..so it got me thinking...and i placed battery from new relay and it booted right up as if a brick never happenned..i started to really research this and found ways to prevent this from ever happenning again as well as finding out about the samsung overcharge "issues" .
Besides when i used the battery, it lost charge out quite quickly and when i did a little research on the batteries, i found out given the size the batteries are likely to be fake and that the best batteries are the stock ones. The big extended batteries are however a different story altogether though. Anyway, i'd charge them overnight once and see if anything happens.
Here's hoping to the phone not bursting and burning my house down!!:fingers-crossed:

a good example...i went from 6 am to now 8:30 pm on my extended and its now at 75% batterry....i only paid 30 with tax and stuff total for my extended and happy i got it...again though...a lower voltage and ma charger will cause issues with battery drain and charge as well...like lets say you used a charger from another android device that calls for 4.5 or 5 volts but only 750ma or 500ma.... in terms it doesnt charge the phone properly causing more workload and time for battery to charge properly
I bought the extended battery of mugenpower (2300mah) for Samsung Galaxy S3. I scratched To insert the battery. The time now is charging but the cover does not close. probably also'll scratch the cover.
Soon I will insert photos of the operation.

Mugen Power battery for s3 in Relay
I am extremely satisfied with the results, the battery life has improved considerably. Now I can get to the evening, with the old battery arrived at midday
I had to scratch the back cover to be able to close.
I recently purchased this for my galaxy s4. I got right at 9 hrs before it went to 0% and completely turned off. 3 hrs was non stop screen time. I did not use any battery management apps and left wifi on non stop but turned off blue tooth.
It seems like this battery only gave me about 1 he extra over stock. This is a stock replacement. I've seen a lot of Zerolemon worship videos on YouTube but no "real reviews".
Has anyone else any experience with this battery ? Doesn't seem that great.
Ok I must be the only one who owns this battery. That's OK I've always considered myself a pioneer. At any rate I checked again and same thing. No NFC, takes forever to charge, no significant change in battery time. The battery itself is larger than the stock albeit only by a millimeter or so.
Waste of money.

I wouldn't say it's a waste of money... Mine have been treating me well. Really the batteries are only about 2800 mAh or so, not an actual 3000, but I'd still prefer the extra hour or so even if it takes away NFC (that I never use).
Here's the best I've gotten with this battery all on LTE.

I returned the 3000mah battery today.
The 3000mah is 600mah over stock. So in theory you should get +20% more battery time. My Samsung was about 8 hrs which is I believe what samsung claims anyway. So in theory I should get an additional 96 minutes of time. Using touchwiz I got the most 56 minutes.
For me an additional 56 min does not warrant $20. I'd rather take the 20 and buy the bigger 7500mah or keep it slim stock and buy an external that I plug up. Some. A disagree with me but 56 minutes is negligible. 96 minutes would be better as my phone rips through power.
I definitely did not get the same time as you did but I'm using TW and not ASOP. Then again I used it in the manner I normally would and disabled juice defender. Juice defender is pretty good and works well on aggressive setting and helps extended battery life.....
I just personally did not find value in the battery.
Just ran my Samsung battery again and recharged it. It lasted about 8 hrs 20 min this past time. It charged faster than the Zerolemon as well. I may try Ankor or another extended battery. The actual door batteries seem to be better value. My friend got the mophie juice pack for $99. No NFC, no USB OTG, bulky, 2300mah. That's a pretty bad deal the case is huge and that's way too expensive for such little battery..I use USB OTG alot
I have the Zerolemon slim line I don't remember mah but I have had good luck with it. I have gone two days on it, making phone calls and social media . Go figure I guess it the luck of the draw.
Better Suggestion
I'm looking for a better battery, but it has to have a thin enough back case that the touchstone hack would work. Suggestions?

The original Samsung Battery has 2600 mah and the Zerolemon claims to have 3000. That's 400 more not 600.
Good point, I did re-read this thread. I know a friend who also got this battery a little after I did and kept it. I told him about my extra time, and he approximately did get 1hr extra over stock as well. He's had it now for a month, and he says the time now is equivalent to stock (i.e. the extra hour does not seem to take hold anymore).
At any rate, with a spotty experience it is hard to justify over just buying a stock Samsung battery if you need the extra capacity. I don't mind losing the NFC over extra battery time, but the results are negligible at best.
amazing :good:

I never tried it. What I ultimately did was get a portable battery pack and another Samsung battery. The portable battery pack can charge the phone on the fly with the USB cord and also charge any other phones or devices. The spare Samsung battery is for a battery swap if I need the phone ASAP.
The first Samsung battery I got was a fake, so I just went to Fry's Electronics and bought retail an authentic Samsung battery. I knew the Samsung battery was a fake because around 13% it would be become unstable and just turn off. It never went systematically to 0. It just was a toss up when the phone died under 13%. Eventually the battery would just completely die in 2 hrs.
This what I'll do in the future is just buy a spare stock battery. I already have a universal portable battery pack.
I looked at all options. The ZeroLemon extended batteries are bulky (the big ones) and heavy. For anyone who holds and uses their phone a lot, the phone becomes very big to just take in and out of the pocket frequently. Plus it looks horrible in my opinion. If you feel that is a great option for you, more power to you. I take a lot of pictures with my phone, and that battery pack isn't happening.
I also looked at battery pack cases which were not my thing. You buy a Mophie case that makes the phone so huge and only charges your phone to 80% ? For a whopping $100. What a deal.
I bought a spare authentic Samsung battery from Fry's for like $30 or so. My phone is slim, I can take pictures easily, and when I socialize with women and get their numbers, they aren't laughing at my ridiculous phone lol.
I like my zero lemon batteries actually. I got what I paid for. Marginal batteries which help me get through the day. I didn't expect some magical change. They are 10 bucks how much did you think they would help? I like the red charger and I swap between the two batteries I got. Beats carrying around a charger I just pop the other battery in and I'm good for the day.
That's fair. They just were not my thing. I'm content with another genuine Samsung battery. One of my friends got one and still has it. He said that the additional time is not there anymore, and they have the same life as the Samsung batterys. Not sure if it is his battery or how they really are, but I'm content not having it. Plus the battery creates a very minor bulge at the back. I had a very tight fitting case on when I tried the battery and it created a minor gap.
If you like them more power to you, but I don't care for their products.
I have a 3000mah battery.. idk what brand.. it was a gift. So to get the most outta my L720t I bought a $9.99 wall mounting battery charger. And at night I'll charge both my Samsung battery and the extended life one. I use my Samsung till it's dead.. then I'll pop in the slightly bigger one. This way I always know I'll have enough juice..
Thanks for all your input guys.. I was wondering weather or not to get another 3000mah battery.. I'll stick with what's working... lol
I get over 4hrs of on-screen time on my stock battery in my gs4 that I bought the first week in may 2013. I was considering the zerolemon 3000mah but idk now. worst case scenario is that I can always return it if I see no improvement over stock
Just depends on what your need is. Are your guy's cases super tight fitting ? There will be a slight bulge at the back, full disclosure, so if it is extremely tight fitting that might be an issue. Do you have an aluminum backplate battery cover ? Again, you might run into problem it's not a 100% OEM fit, more like 97%.
I just don't think it is worth the hassle since the stock battery works fine and fits fine plus has Samsung quality control, but that's just me. The questionable benefit, unknown quality of the battery, and bulge at the back isn't my thing.
I was sick of my battery life being horrible no matter the rom or customizations so I went ahead and ordered this bad boy that just came in today.
Initial impressions:
The size isn't that much bigger than the phone with the seidio case that I had... it still fits in my jeans pocket (don't own skinny jeans, so no clue there).
Will update this once I get more time with it and let u know about charging time, how long it last, and if there are any other questions let me know.

Acquired one of these myself. I really like ZeroLemon's battery design - a lot of these cases just bulge out the back where the rest of the battery is while leaving the rest of the phone thin, which is super unwieldly. ZL actually designs their batteries to pack in as many cells as possible over the entire back of the phone, which makes it a much smoother experience.
The battery ended up lasting me a little more than 3 days, which was great. However, I found that the power button was way too easy to press - I had to be careful putting my phone away every time because even the gentlest press seemed to trigger the button and allow things to happen on-screen in my pocket, which is not ideal.
I'll be posting my review later tonight on the Amazon product page. Overall, I'd say if you need a 9000mah battery on your phone, this is the way to go..if you don't store your phone in your pocket. To be fair, with how thick your phone becomes with this case, people who hold their phones in their pockets aren't really the main demographic, I'd say.
I got this battery also. I like this a lot better than the Mugan 6,000mAh I bought for about the same price. As far as lasting 3 days, I guess if you don't use it a lot, that would be really easy. I normally plug mine in every night. But for an experiment I decided to let it go. Surprise it lasted me the whole 2nd day too. But time for bed, I plugged it in after 39 hours I plugged it in at 23%. Compared to stock where I had to charge sometime during the day. The Mugan would last me the whole day. But it is always nice to know that if I needed, I could go 2 days without a charge. A lot longer if I take it easy.
The case is ok, I like the back of the phone better because it isn't weird shape. I hate the other where the battery juts out and the top is skinny. That made the whole phone hard to hold. But this one tapers a bit near the top, but is a lot nicer to hold. I think it was a lot better investment than the Mugan....
I just got this from Zero Lemon. For those of you that have this battery, do you notice that your battery level in the status bar is inaccurate? I charged mine to 100% (which took a LONG time). After starting my edge, my battery level dropped to 97% in like two minutes. Is the system just showing inaccurate readings because of the larger battery? I'm at 93% after only being turned on for 14 minutes. My 3000mah battery did much better that that.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
At first I saw those results and then I would get to 1% and it would last over 5 hours on there. For me I wiped battery stats, let it completely die, recharged it without disconnecting it, let it fully discharge again and it seemed to drain more accurately afterwards

How is your 3,000mAh battery after 16 hours with 5 hours screen on time?
I don't sweat the small stuff... As long as I can a full day + out of this and not be gimping my phone, I'm set... lol
My Amazon Review
I've never used an extended battery on any cell phone before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I loved the idea of getting tripple the time out of one charge so was excited to give this a try.
I'll begin with the battery. The batteries are BIG. I felt that they could have a slightly tighter fit in the phone battery pocket but knew the case would help hold them in place. No big deal. I installed the battery and my phone showed a 59% charge. I wanted to run the battery down as far as possible before fully charging. It sure didn't take long. My phone was dead in only a few hours. So I charged the batteries to 100% while I slept. Turned on my phone and headed for work. In the hour it took me to get to work, (with my phone in my pocket) I'd used 20% of my charge. Wwwhhaaaaat!!!??. I could actually watch my charge meter go down while using my phone. I was so disappointed. I was getting better time out of my 3000mah stock battery. I even posted a help question on Xda Developers for advice on why I'm losing a charge so quickly. One member stated that they had experienced the same issue for the first few days, but charge time improved. So I decided to stick with the Zerolemon for a little while longer. Boy am I glad I did. I'm writing this review on my phone 40 hours after unplugging from my charger and still have 47% charge left. The battery gets slightly warm when charging but nothing to get overly concerned about. It never gets hot while in using my phone. I think Zerolemon had done a great job of designing this power source. My only suggestion for the actual batteries would be maybe a note in the instructions informing us that it may take a few charges to see the full benefits.
On to the case... The case is a nice TPU material with a slight texture that prevents it from being slippery. It slips on and off my phone with ease while still being snug enough that it doesn't come off if I don't WANT it to. I was concerned that it would be difficult to put in and out of my pocket because of the size, but it hasn't been an issue at all. My speaker still sounds loud and clear. Zerolemon has done a FANTASTIC job of making all ports easily accessible as well as my s-pen. I will say that the case has caused a slight lifting of my screen protector where others that I use have not. It's not a deal breaker though. The complaints about the power button are justifiable. It is a bit too touchy and needs to be tightened up, somehow. It hasn't been an issue for me but I can see how it might be for some.
All in all, this battery /case combination isn't perfect. But it's pretty damn close. I'm very happy with Zerolemon's efforts and attention to usability. I will continue to use this battery /case combo for a long time to come.
Thank you ZEROLEMON !!!
Just order mine, icant wait wait to get it. So tired of haing to charge my phone in the middle of the day. Thank you guys for your reviews. Really helped me make up my mind.
That's great, you will love it. All day is no problem, no matter how you use it.

Can anyone show a picture of how the camera, flash, and heart rate sensor area looks with the zero lemon. I want to buy this but want to see how the bezel surrounds that area since I can't find any pictures of that. Thank you!
Hope this is what you want.

Thanks! This what I was wanting to see. So they didn't make the bezel correctly to fully surround the camera and heart rate/flash. Still doesn't look bad... Probably going to buy one tonight! Thanks again!
Got everything charged up and running. I was having some issues with the power button so cut a little piece of paper to fit between power button and ir blaster and doubled it and the power button works awesome now. I will have to come up with a more permant solution later.
I would like to know, does this battery support the adaptive charging feature? Will it still charge 3000mah worth of power in one hour?.or how long does it take to charge? Does nfc still work?
Also no one seems to mention this but there is no cutout for the speaker. How does that affect functionality?

From 20% about a couple hours to 100% But I don't stick around because I plug it in before I go to bed. But in the beginning I did get up to check, so I know it is less than 3.

I would say yes, because I set it up, but haven't tried using it. As I don't really use it in the first place. ZeroLemon says it does.

The speakers work fine. Probably because if there being so much space and places the sound can come out. I don't think the case was meant to be soundproof.
Woke at 9 and took my phone off charge at 100%. About to go to bed and i have 2% left. 7 hours of screen on time. Loving it!!
So I just got this badboy delivered! Man I burst out laughing when I saw the battery. It's so huge.
Questions: I'm assuming the phone can't detect the true capacity of the battery? So battery readings are useless? Any app out there that can? How about when it's charging? How do I truly know of the battery is at 100%? How do I truly know how much juice I got left?
Thanks! Pictures below

You should never assume. [emoji6] it's reading fine on mine. Did you expect it to read 300%? If it says zero, then your phone will be dead. If it says 100%, then the battery is full charged.

How about the "remaining hours" estimate? Is that accurate? Cuz I had read somewhere that it was normal for the phone to stay stuck at 1% for hours or something like that?

Recieved my zero lemon charging case. One word....WHOA....for 2 reasons.
1. Heavy and bulky
2. Charging is super fast, its like having my speed charger on full time
The original ZeroLemon was a lot thinner but also charged a lot slower. The new version is 100 times easier to put on unlike the first version which unfortunately after about 3 to 4 weeks stopped working for me. Hoping this one doesn't do the same. I will say I don't for see myself using this as a daily case due to its weight and thickness but I will be carrying this with me when I take long trips weather being New York City Transit where I'm listening to my music long the ride, or maybe a long motorcycle ride or even a day trip out with the family in the car where I won't have a charger accessible and I'll be taking pictures all day long. With that said and done I've attached some pictures so you can see what the new product looks like as well as a comparison to the first model. The USB pass-through is A+ and being able to transfer data is a bigger plus something the first model didn't offer.

I received mine last week.
Packaging - Item was nicely packaged inside a resealable zip-lock bag. Inside the bag, the item is inside a smaller cardboard box along with installation instructions, warranty card information, the phone case that holds your phone along with the battery and battery connector, the (HUGE) battery, and an extra battery connector.
Case – This was my first silicone case with this phone. I usually stick to TPU as silicone cases pick up/attracts dust. Time will tell how it will hold up. The power button is easy to push and the cutouts are all in the correct places. There is a cutout in the back for the camera/flash as well as the battery LED status lights at the bottom. There are cut cutouts on the right for charging (charge your battery/phone and also charge other devices!). There are also speaker, microphone, & headphone cutouts at the bottom as well as cutouts at the top for the IR blaster and microphone.
Installation – I took off my daily TPU case and connected my phone to the battery and dropped it into the black silicone case. Unlike the other smaller Zerolemon battery cases, this did not have a super tight death-grip-like fit. The other case with the smaller battery and TPU case and a super tight fit that was difficult to put on and take off. It would also press up against the side of my glass screen protector causing it to lift off the phone screen. This case fit nicely and did not have any issues.
Usage – To charge the battery, just plug in a micro usb cable into the battery and plug the wire into a wall wart. The white LEDs in the back will light up indicating the level of charge left in the battery and will also blink the last LED to show that it is charging. When all four LEDs are on and the blinking stops, the battery is full. To check the battery level when your phone is connected, just press the back button once and the LED light up for a few seconds to display the approximate charge of the battery (each light ~ 25%). To turn on the battery to charge the phone, you press and hold the back button and the LED will turn and stay up to show that the battery is on and providing battery to recharge your phone. To turn the battery off, press and hold the button again until the LED lights turn off.
Two complains I had with the other smaller battery case were that: 1) there was no pass-through so your computer does not see your phone when you connect the battery case to your computer, and 2) your phone would not receive quick charge when connected to a wall wort while it was in the battery case. This new version addresses both issues, the computer can connect to your phone through the case so your files are accessible, and quick charge works through the battery case (to charge the phone, the battery does not accept quick charging). Another new feature is an USB port at the top which allows you to connect and charge other devices. This is a big plus since this battery is so large (stock S6 is 2550mAh and this beast of a battery is 8500mAh).
Thoughts - If you did not noticed from the photos and dimensions listed, this thing is gigantic. At 8.47 oz, its weight is almost double that of the phone itself (4.87 oz). The battery alone stands taller and wider than the phone. Add a phone case to wrap it all up and for protection, you have a large brick in your hand. But I knew about the size before I received the item. One issue I found was that the battery does not turn off automatically after it fully charges your phone. Not a big deal as this is not the type of battery you leave on to charge your phone overnight. This would be a case to use if I knew I would not be near a charging station that day for a long period of time. I was glad to have this battery case as my phone was over 2 years old and the battery life has been going down hill.
This looks like an awesome case. My current battery case is on it's last legs, so i'm looking to pick one up.
One thing I would like to know if possible guys - does this case support MicroSD Storage via OTG by any chance?
Thanks

So now you have a Nokia Brick, with a battery that lasts a month, but with the speed of a true galaxy flagship xD
Just got a new Pixel XL and I'd like an external battery I read the reviews on this site but does anyone have any ideas as to which is superior?
Here's what I've gathered so far
ZeroLemon 8500 mAh
Mophie 2950 mAh & wireless charging
Wide variety of chargers available including car & battery pack
I assume that both of these are in addition to the internal battery. Does anyone have any additional info?
LATER
I also found two others, but they're not as good as these two.

As far as features go, mophie is the better product. For sheer function, ZeroLemon obviously has the larger battery.
If I had the money I'd go mophie.
It has a 2 year warranty
wireless charging
can connect to a car mount or dock magnetically
zerolemon i believe only has a 180 day warranty? Don't quote me on that. I think i saw that on the amazon page.
So if all you want is juice, go zerolemon but if the features and the 2 year warranty is more to your liking I'd say go mophie. I'm looking at both and on paper, mophie has the better feature set and possibly better value even though it is more expensive.
if you register the product with ZeroLemon you'll get an additional 18m warranty, fwiw
I was on the Mophie site and their LG G4 case is 60% off.

Not surprising since it's for a phone that's two years old. Not going to help with a Pixel XL though.

A SERIOUSLY BROKEN two year old phone, that's my point.
Just ordered the mophie. The features won out and their cases tend to look more finished.
I just got the mophie. I don't have a Pixel Zerolemon to compare, but it does look more finished than the LG G4 ZeroLemon I have. The charge Force accessories are very good looking also.

I've got the Zerolemon. It's a chunky monster but I want the battery life. There's an extra 2cm on the bottom with two front-facing grates for speaker sound, which work well. Could do with a kickstand. Heavy beast and not aesthetically pleasing if that's an issue for you.
I could post pictures, but nothing better than the ones on mophie & amazon

Some observations
Juice Pack
The juice pack looks like a large phone. I like a manly sized phone and don't wear anything but jeans so size isn't an issue. The ZeroLemon (G4) cover looked like it was homemade.
This is just a gut feeling, the charge-thru technology seems to:
Charge the phone to 80%
Charge the Juice pack to 80%
Top off the phone
Top off the juice pack
The Juice pack did not interfere with USB debugging.
The speaker extensions only add about 1/4 inch to the height.
Power Station
The juice pack uses a usb-c connector, but the battery pack & vent mount use mini-usb. You can still use all your old chargers, but you might have to carry an extra cable.
The magnetic attachment to the battery is pretty strong. I can see using the phone with the battery attached.
The faux velvet finish on the battery pack mars easily and collects dust.
I spoke to mophie and asked about using the powerstation while the phone is connected to the computer. I was told that the powerstation has a overcharge protection feature so this will not hurt the phone or powerstation but it is also unnecessary because the phone will charge off the computer first.
Vent Mount
Prior to getting this stuff, I had an overheating problem with the pixel when using Google Maps & GPS. With it mounted on the vent mount with AC blowing on it, its actually cool to the touch. The phone may still be overheating inside the case but we'll see. I had another vent mount for an earlier phone and managed to break the vanes on one of my vents. No problem with this one. It is a little wobbly though.
If you're getting a battery pack you might want to wait on a wireless desktop charger. The dock might be useful if you're using the phone at your desk, but I didn't need it

Are you able to check if the phone sleeps while connected to the Mophie? *Not charging state*. It looks like the zero lemon had an issue of keeping the phone awake when it's connected. Even in a non charging state.

I set the Display Sleep to 15 seconds. When the screen goes blank, If hit the power button it requires a fingerprint. How do I tell if its really asleep or just playing possum?
I ran a charging test, but I can't figure out how to enter tabs or a table. I also tried uploading a snapshot but the image won't show.

download accubattery and just use the phone as normal in the case but with the case powered off. the phone should go into deep sleep after a period of non-use; accubattery will give you tons of stats including deep sleep
You could download naptime on the play store, enable aggressive dose and enable dose notifications. This will put the phone to deep sleep quicker than usual, and notification will appear when it wakes back up telling you when it went to sleep and how long deep sleep was active.
Is root required to use naptime?
