Like the titel says,
can somebody tell me if its possible to use an USB-Stick with OTG?
Its a Lumia 1020 32GB with WP 8.1 beta
thanks for answers =)
OTG
If I remember correctly, L1020 has a usual Micro-USB port. USB OTG requires a AB port. It looks a little bit different. If you ever see Nokia N8, take a look at it's usb port, it is for OTG.
BUT some SONY's Xperia devices had OTG even while having a simple port. You can try buying a cheap USB-otg and see if it fits.
Microsoft announced that it would launch a File Manager for WP. Maybe then things with OTG will clear up..

Just wondering if this is possible, and if so, which phones and OS's will support this. More specifically, will the Samsung Nexus S be able to browse filles off of my WD USB3.0 My Passport Essential SE 1TB?
i have seen something done in this regard where that guy used a "fake" microSD to act as one end of a USB cable. the other end was a regular usb port where he hooked a usb thumb drive. you might try to find it and see if it applies on your case.
only o2 flame can do usb otg
but slow in transfer rate as usb 1.1
I have a similar question. Can i somehow send pictures from a USB device to my iPhone? I really need to get those pictures on my phone. Is there a way other than using my pc?
Hi,
This may be quite a retarded question but here we go anyway:
The Nokia N8 is capable of hosting a USB stick via the medium of a micro USB adapter. i.e. You can plug a USB stick using a micro USB adapter into the N8 and it will mount it as an extra drive displayed in a file explorer.
Is this possible with the Nexus S/Android platform at all?
Presumably drivers would need to be sourced somewhere, and some form of Linux based hack...
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Andy
i'd love to see that happen in the SNS
but from what we know so far, it's not yet possible
however the guys over at SGS, are already cracking in on the code, to hack it and make it work.
as soon as they get that working it should be simple to port it over to SNS, as the phones are practically the same
Did anyone find any good cables compatible with Nokia Lumia 2520?
cables for what?

Neither of which need special cables...
I think this is a rather pointless thread. There is nothing special about the nokia lumia 2520 for USB cables. If we're going to ask for USB cables (standardised cables that is) then I am going to ask you a question: do you have any recommendations for USB cables to connect my Sony Xperia M to my HP Sleekbook? The ones I have lying all over the house don't do the job.
Hello XDA Crew and tech enthusiasts!
I wanted to see if anyone has a little insider knowledge about Android OEM's incorporating USB 3.1 and DisplayPort over USB, into future device USB-C connections? I'm doubting it would be a simple software switch in Marshmallow to enable these features on the current devices with USB-C, since it takes a whole different pin out on the soldered USB-C connector. It doesn't look like the iFixit teardowns show this implementation. However, the Snapdragon 810 chipset must be capable of it, since Microsoft is using it.
I've been hesitant to pull the plug on any of the new Android phones with the new USB-C connector, with USB 2.1. data connection and no DiplayPort over USB:

I guess it looks like there are going to be some nice features in the future. If the OEM's implement it, being able to dock a phone that has USB 3.1 + DisplayPort will open up new possibilities. I liked Microsoft's implementation, except I'd rather have Android's ecosystem!
It looks like Microsoft's new Lumia's do have USB-C + 3.1 + DisplayPort and the current Snapdragon 810 is definitely capable:

I saw that the OnePlus 5T doesn't support HDMI to USB-C adapters, but maybe this has changed with the OnePlus 6? Is there any other way to connect the phone to your monitor? Cheers!
Chromecast
I don't think it support usb-c to hdmi, that the reason it prevent me getting op6. According to gsmarena' s specs it use the slow usb 2.0 type c. I want to play emulators on big screen so casting doesn't cut it. On ly a few flagships from Huawei, Samsung, LG, Google support usb type c 3.1
nope just tested it, doesn't work.
If is real ! It's a bad news !!!
Any solution ?
use displaylink adapters. have a look at the op5 section on xda. its discussed there and there are good solutions. usb 2.0 sucks anyway. will wait for the next gereration and hope they change the usb chip
