Neither of which need special cables...
I think this is a rather pointless thread. There is nothing special about the nokia lumia 2520 for USB cables. If we're going to ask for USB cables (standardised cables that is) then I am going to ask you a question: do you have any recommendations for USB cables to connect my Sony Xperia M to my HP Sleekbook? The ones I have lying all over the house don't do the job.

Just tried my CA-101 cable that came with my nokia X6 with my DHD, and it works, I was able to sync etc...
Wooohooo!!
Any micro USB cable should work.

I always though the contacts have different configs.
Yeah, but a standardised micro usb will be the same between makes and models.

Yes, and thank you EU for mandating this from mobile phone manufacturers. Standard charging and data cable finally.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I've used the USB-socket adapter and cable from my kindle to charge my DHD
and my old Nokia CA-101 to charge both my kindle and my HDH via my PC
and i've used my DHD usb cable and adapter to charge my kindle... >_<
Sort of mix-and-match recharging solutions... (no bangs or meltdowns yet...) ^_^ lol
That's why standards are made ;-)
I would recommend to grab some Mini- to Micro-USB-adaptors as well (one for the wallet), because it broadens the possibilities to charge/connect your DHD with the (momentary) more common Mini-USB.
nice ......................
Yup, I had to take a cable to work to charge the DHD, so I accidently took the Nokia one and only found out once I was at the office. But since the connector looked the same, I thought I'd try - worked !
Thank God we are going to have a single type of connection for all mobiles soon....
Okay, since this part of the Note 8.0 section is dead, I decided to revive it a bit on an USB cable I upgraded to. It combines the versatility of Apple's megnetic power connector and USB C plug reversal capabilities. So plugging in you USB cable is much easier and does not degrade your USB connector over time. It is the most awsome accessory I ever bought for a device, and has 2.0 Amp charge current capabilities to boot!
Now for the built in bonus item... it has a charge LED to let you know it is either charging or not. No need to wake the device to see if the device is charged. As you all know Note 8.0 devices have no charge LED indecators.
Now the big big big bonus... the cable is cheap and has free shipping. It cost me $6.00 US and came from China via Amazon. There are a few similar devices on Amazon so look for the silver version not the white or what ever.
how can you upgrade USB 2 to USB C?
Did you hacked the hardware physically?

The cable does everything I have stated. Has reversable connection for both charging and data. The head has circuitry to properly connect the pins without any fuss. The only thing it will not do is high speed usb 3.0 or better. Wish this was a stock option it would have saved me tons of money with oem and high quality replacement cables krapping out on me.
Sorry, I really don't understand....
Could you please post a photo of the cable?
Thank you....

This is what I purchased...

ah, its an adapter so it can use MagSafe-like charger....
its not real USB-C.... but nice one, I could use it for my Note 8.0
I've been looking around for an OTG cable that will work with my Mi 4c and haven't got any guarantees from any I've viewed that it will work with Mi 4c. I know for sure the 4c supports OTG. Does anyone know of a cable that works?
You need to have Type-C OTG converter, there are alot on Ali Express sold with reference to Nexus 5x & mi4c

I know, I was asking if anyone knew of one that was guaranteed to work with the 4C. A link perhaps?

Fascinating, that didn't seem to work with me. Though the adapter works for charging.

The OTG cable has been tested to work (Nexus device and Xperia) and the adapter works for data sync. I have only tried with USB though, so that might be the issue
Hello !
Problem is more that a lot of USB sticks/devices are not recognized. The adpaters that I have worked well, but only every third USB stick.

I ordered this one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Elo..._2&btsid=c8d2641a-70b4-46fd-bad6-ec0e0eede4ed
works perfectly. It arrived today after about 3 weeks. Working perfectly with my NTFS formatted HP 8GB and Kingston 16GB Flash Drives. My HP USB flash drive is v220w and Kingston's is Data Traveler 2.0
you need to reformat with Allocation unit not more than 16kb if your flash drive isnt recognized. I keep mine at 8kb while formatting.
Nice
Hello all,
what is the best solution to connect pixel to a PC (type a usb port)? Right now I could only think of getting a third party usb c cable like an anker one, are there anymore solutions?
Google should really understand that people's computers still have usb a ports, both ends with usb c is still too early

Your pixel didn't come with a USB c to regular USB A cable? ???.... that is strange, mine did.... did u by it used or something? ...
regardless, you should be able to buy a proper cable just about anywhere. common stuff, under $10.... Amazon, eBay, google, Apple, Wallmart (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Cable-Ma...Type-A-USB-A-Cable-in-Black-3-3-Feet/49419804).
sorry for not clarifying, mine is a pixel 2. It comes with a usb c to c cable.

Not to be rude; but this isn't the pixel 2 forum.... this is Pixel 1St gen and very specifically 'Sailfish'.
I would suggest posting in a Pixel 2 forum, rather than here. plus, you could've just googled it. usb c to usb a cables are common AF. available everywhere ?
Anyone tried it? I searched anywhere, but no results

Just try it and see if it works. Some devices could work while others would need a dedicated OTG cable
Thx fydtyh. I will update later

It depends on whether the phone is used as client or as host. If the phone is to be used as a client, normal USB cable is used. If the phone is to be used as host, a OTG cable is used. It is a matter of pinout order.

You can convert the USB C cable into a OTG cable by changing the pinout order as indicated in the following discussion. You will need an adapter to convert one USB C end into USB A.
How different is a normal usb cable from OTG usb cable?
Answer (1 of 8): Hey, So USB OTG cable is used to connect to a device (say your phone, tablet) when you want to use that device (say your phone tablet) as a host. So imagine you want to use a mouse with your android tablet, then you can use the OTG cable as shown in the figure below Major dif...

I know the diagrams show microUSB instead of USB C but the pinout order should still be the same for microUSB and USB C.
