Pioneer avic 8000 nex and galaxy s4 - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

Hi all. I very been searching online for a straight answer on the below inquiries but cannot seems to get any.
I just purchased the Pioneer avic 8000nex navigation and you need a cable kit to use the mirror link ability for the galaxy s4. Essentially you'll be controlling your phone through the navigation system. Can someone help advise which cables are needed and if any of the cables require the head unit to be removed again or just plug and play. Also, I read the mhl adapter also required but when I look online, some say you don't need it and other say you do, but the item number is for the galaxy S3 and not the s4. Can someone assist?

Composite RCA cable

Hi all.
I have been doing a bit of research and am finding split information as to whether or not the galaxy tab 8.9 is able to use a composite rca cable or not.
I see some selling the cable and advertising it as being compatible with all galaxy tabs including the 8.9, I am also seeing some selling the exact same cable and advertising it as only being compatible with the Samsung P1000 7” tab.
Here is an example of the cable I am talking about. I do have an hdmi cable which works great, but I would still like to have the rca cable if it is compatible.
I am wondering if anyone has tried this type of cable with a galaxy tab 8.9..
Thanks for the help!
I have ordered one at dealextreme for a few euros, a few days ago. I'll let you know if it works. I am particularly interested in using it to connect my tab to a projector. I couldn't find any information on the internet so I'll just see what happens I guess.
Thanks stevennekens for the reply. I as well would like to be able to use my tab with a projector.
Looks like the hyperlink in my above post did not stick, here is an example of the cable I am referring to :

doesn't work
I have my cable in from dealxtreme and it doesn't work with the galaxy tab 8.9 although otherwise advertised (not by samsung). I am still hoping to find a way to get it to work.
Thanks lrbizar for the reply.
Sorry to hear that the cable does not work for our tab.. other than this minor issue, I have really enjoyed using it.
If you are ever able to get it working, please let me know.

Hi people,
It's unbelievable but it doesn't work. I actually exchanged the cable once thinking it was faulty. The Samsung say it's not compatible. And I have a Samsung H03 projector that I was looking forward to connecting to my GT 8.9. It's very frustrating that I can't connect two Samsung devices together. GT 10.1 and 7 should be fine they say. Where did you get the HDMI cable please?
Good luck.
Danny.

[Q] Galaxy S3 Samsung MHL 11pin cable not stabile

Alright, I have searched and searched for a solution to this issue.
What started this all off is that I purchased a Pioneer AppRadio 2 that I wanted to connect my Verizon Galaxy S3 too. I plugged everything in correctly got a connection from the appradio app and with a nice crystal clear display. Then in 7 seconds it all went down hill from there. So after a lot of troubleshooting here is essentially what it does. Once plugged in after a few seconds the display comes up and if I have music going it starts playing, then in 7(est) seconds I lose signal dor a second and then it comes back for another 7 seconds, etc... I have tested a ton of things and still get the same results...
Devices: AppRadio2, Yamaha Reciever (This decodes HDMI before sending it on) and a Samsung DLP Television
HDMI Cables: Generic HDMI, High end Monoprice and a Mid Level Monoprice HDMI
USB: 3 different cables
Power Adapters: Car 1.0A and 2,0A; Home: 1.0A Verzon power adapter and attached to PC
Phones: I replaced my Galaxy S3 with another thinking it was the phone itself (Verizon warranty)
MHL Adapter: I purchased two Samsung MHL GS3 MHL adapters from amazon (two different vendors), EPL-3FHUBEG, (I had links in here but the damn forum won't let me leave em in).
I have been on the phone with Samsung for hours and verizon. The Samsung tier 2 support tech has opened a ticket with research or something and am currently waiting to be contacted in some way.
Has anyone else experienced similar? Any solutions?
Thank You...
At this point I can only charge my Samsung galaxy s3 with pieonerr android cable that I had installed at BestBuy they also installed my appradio 2. Not exactly sure what to do next

First off to really get the most out of the unit got should arlibitator in the play store it will blow your mind.
That being said there has been a lot of talk on the forums that the mhl adapter sold on amazon are in fact fakes. I can confirm this add I purchased one from amazon abs after having issues with 4g cutting out I got one directly from Samsung, that don't even feel the same. So your charging problem could be from using a bad mhl.
On a side note the pioneer charger only puts out about 500ma which isn't enough to charge the battery normally. Most ppl installed a 3.1v charger from amazon.
Charging works but everything else dont. Head unit dosent see phone when plugged in. Want to order the parts I need asap. Not sure what to order

Help: GT-P5113 + HDTV Adapter

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
OEM Software (Rooted)
GT-P5113
4.1.1
HDTV Adapter

So I am trying to connect the tap to my HD TV. I purchase the above adapter and connect the power to the adapter via the OEM power plug/cord, the adapter to the tablet via the 30 pin connecter on the adapter, and the TV to the adapter via HDMI cable. When I plug the adapter into the tablet, it makes a chime noise signifying that something has been plugged in. When I go to the HDMI input source on the TV, nothing displays. I know I am doing it right as I have Googled this to death. I have contacted Samsung via phone, and email support. All they do is ask me if I bought my tablet locally and then refer me to call Samsung for parts. I don't want or need parts. I clearly have everything I need. So I click a link on the Samsung site that says "Email the CEO". I amusingly clicked and sent an email about my frustrations trying to get support. So someone from Samsung calls me back (the same people you get when you call support. After being put on hold for 20 minutes while they find something to tell me, she comes back and asks me if my TV is MHL compatible. In my head I'm like wtf?!?! So I ask her what that has to do with this and she tells me my TV needs to have this in order to display whats on the tablet. So I ask her if the website, box or instructions should say this as I have never heard of MHL until she mentioned it. I look up MHL and it looks like its related to phones and the HDTV adapter the phones use with micro HDMI. This adapter uses regular HDMI.
Anyways, I've had enough of the Samsung runaround...
Has anyone gotten this to work? I'm at a loss of what to try. I've tried on two TV's with the same result. I shouldn't need to upgrade should I? Do I need to unroot, upgrade, then root? Anyone have any suggestions?
Anyone? Thoughts or suggestions?

I'm using the Onn brand sold at Wal-Mart. I haven't had an issue with it at all. I got mine at a local goodwill. It comes with the main adapter and an adapter for Samsung devices. It also can charge the device at the same time.
I found this thread

Seems like the HDMI adapter situation is a total mess. The MHL standard is a joke, because apparently no one bloody follows it correctly.
Unfortunately i live in Europe. So i can not go to Walmart and grab it.
And yes it is really messed up I can not be sure if the product i wanna buy is gonna be compatible.
Any MHL3 works.
Is there an MHL adapter that will work without needing to be plugged in to a power source? I just bought one off Amazon, but it certainly didn't work without being plugged in to power....

MHL adapter (11 pin) won't fit in S4 (SGH-i337m)

I have an 11-pin MHL adapter (it's the long one which slides deep into the phone) which I used regularly with my old S3. I now own an S4 (SGH-i337M) and the adapter *should* fit and work, but does not do either. The plug won't slide fully into the connector; and sitting loose and halfway in obviously doesn't establish an MHL connection. When I shine a flash light into the port on the phone, it's clearly too shallow to accept the longer 11 pin plug.... which makes no sense as all specs and info on the phone indicate that the S3 and S4 should use the exact same 11-pin adapter. Can anyone explain this; or explain how I can use MHL with my new phone?
Try asking here:

Thanks, moved.
Having the same problem. .. Wish I'd seen this post earlier like before I purchased this adapter today!
