I was already noticing that my battery was starting to drain faster than usual, but yesterday it completely died. The battery said it was 100%, as soon as I unplugged it it was 0%, and then it wouldn't charge anymore.
This morning I replaced the battery with one that was confirmed working, it wouldn't turn on. I connected the charger and it went into an infinite reboot loop, it would show the battery charge screen with the battery and a loading circle on it. And then reboot, repeating this all the time. I haven't tried putting the original battery back.
I am now at school, but does anybody have any idea what's going on?
Greetz, Dominique.

Can anyone help me with a few ideas?
Thanks guys

i simply turn off the wifi when im not going to be usung it for a while. it uses a lot of Push data delivery systems so thats why i think it would drain as quick as it does..
thats crazy! I'm having a similar problem, i turn on my screen and it seems to lose power faster than when i don't have it on!!!!
Whatever could my problem be!

You are funny, and I am sorry
It's losing power while I turned it off or better I put it to sleep and it still using lots of power without doing anything
I hope that is a little bit better?

Like I said.. simple solution, disable the wifi. Or change the apps to not Push or to pull for updates over longer time intervals so reduce the ti,e wifi needs to stay connected in the background. when I've just disabled wifi the battery drain is next to nothing.
EDIT: There is also the option to auto-disable wifi when the screen is off in the settings

Hi,
I was here not so long ago with a battery issue. Now I'm back with a somewhat different problem with the same battery.
This morning when I started my TR101 (undocked), it indicated 0% pad battery and went off again. (Last night I loaded it up to 100% and closed it down.)
When I restarted it with the adapter in, it started up at around 3%, and in no time (just a few minutes) it was at 100%.
I took the adaptor out, and the battery went fast down. In about 10 minutes it was back at 5%. Reloading again, and in the same short time it was back at 100%. The adapter did not get warm at all, so the battery was not really charging imho. The indication of the battery simply was wrong.
When this phenomenon started to repeat, I docked the pad at 100%, and everything went fine. The pad battery stayed at 100% and the dock battery slowly unloaded, as normal.
A cold reboot did nothing helpful. Known problem?

Also interested in this topic. Have 3 tf101's one with the same issue. Now ordered a new battery because the pad is already of age and has almost been daily charged.
Hope also to get more feedback from the community.

I've seen a similar problem with a Nexus 7, and it was fixed by replacing the battery. I guess the first thing I'd try would be to discharge the battery completely (make sure it really doesn't power on even if it says 0%), disconnect it physically from the device, wait a couple of minutes then connect it back in. Then let it go to full charge before you turn on the device (you can know if it's docked).
I would be willing to buy a new battery. They are for sale widely, including instructions, but I would like to do some test first. The apps I see in Play either require root permission or do the same as any widget.
How do I know the battery is faulty? This happened overnight.

@Chinaboy: What is "of age"? Mine is almost 2 years old and has been loaded roughly every two days, so say 300-350 times.

Awesome, thanks for the update. I was hoping a new one would be the ticket for ya.
I did it too, after collecting some courage, and yes, problem solved after changing the battery.
I found the whole process a hell of a job, but I succeeded.

Hi all,
I have set "Keep wifi on during sleep" = "Never". But when I turn off screen or sleep over night, Wifi is always on.
Attached the screen shot from GSAM battery, Doze mode is active, "Keep wifi on during sleep" = "Never", but Wifi still on. This takes away 10% of my battery over night.
Does anyone get this problem?
maybe you have an app keeping WiFi on? this works for my s7...
Same is happening with my galaxy S7 edge. Are you rooted ?
Just noticed same happens to my s7 edge. European model, no root.
Yeah. It happened after the new PD1 update. You can just forget the network and add it. It seemed to fix it for me

Go to Settings, Location, there's a menu called Improve Accuracy (ίσως βελτιστοποίηση στα Ελληνικά) and it allows the WiFi and Bluetooth to keep scanning even when off. Disable this feature and you should be fine.

Is for turning off wifi when the phone goes to sleep mode, most of the times this happens after some minutes after you turn off the screen provided phone hasn't any task to do.

But mobile data consume more battery than wifi, so what's the point to disable wifi during standby? I just want to understand

Yeah I also thinking of that but i'am not so sure that is a fact. Why in the first place then exist this option, if you go for wifi always on it says it consumes more battery, if you go for mobile data it says consumes more data. If someone knows more about about this I would like to learn it also.

I think it depends on the network coverage in the area you are at any particular time. For example, at my old house coverage was pretty abysmal, so if I had mobile data turned on the battery drained like crazy. WiFi was a more stable connection as it only depended on a router a few metres away that for the most part worked as it should.

So, are you saying that in a good cover area the "wifi active in standby = never" is useful?
Because if you don't use wifi when the screen is off, you will use mobile data anyway. So where is the "saving"?

It really depends. For example, some people are on contracts with limited mobile data, so they want to use wifi as much as possible. In terms of battery consumption, I don't think there's a huge difference, apart from when in extreme circumstances, like a low signal area, as I mentioned above.

Within the last two months, same setup and even after full resets, I have gone from getting max 20% a day loss to 30-40% loss.
My S3 is about a year old I tend to charge when around 15 to 20% left.
Anyone finding finding similar?

Add me to the list. It's infuriating I've tried everything. I'm now running the simplest, darkest watch face I can find to see if that helps.
I have found out that samsung's App power monitor actually drains battery !
This is my normal drain .

This is app power monitor turned off (located in device management>Battery >3 dots>slider to off)

And does turning app power monitor off cause background applications to drain battery over time ? The answer is no.
Unplugged my phone at 100% with 20 apps opened in the background .Woke up the next morning seeing 3% battery drain only. (whatsapp msg led was blinking all night too )
