OTA update with root? - General Questions and Answers

Is a OTA update on a Nexus 5 safe with root, or would it be safer just to flash the update?
Also, does anyone no the date of 4.4.3 in the EU?

[Q] Nexus 5 - Sideloading OTA via ADB

I'm new to the advanced features on Android. I am bored of waiting for 4.4.3 to be pushed via OTA to my Nexus 5.
So i was wondering if I side load the OTA zip via ADB with my locked boot-loader. Will side-loading the OTA prevent my Nexus 5 from receiving any further OTAs such as 4.5(or the next future version)? And is it safe?
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
you are safe and secure good to go!

So it won't prevent me from getting the OTA via the normal source?

Error when updating to 5.1.1?

Hello everyone. I get this error after I hit the update. Is it because I'm rooted?
Anyone else having this problem?

Dude, can your question be any more vague? No one can answer you with so little information.

What else am I to say other than I am stock rooted? But I think it's clearly because the system folder is corrupted. I just wanted to confirm myself. But in other occasions I got updates while being rooted with no problems.

You can't patch a modified system partition. You have to flash it from the factory image.

Update 4.4.2 to 6.0.1 - will be able to roll back to KK ?

I want to upgrade my wife's phone to marshmallow. Her 915F is official but rooted with TWRP.
I want to be sure that I will be able to roll back in case won't like it.
Is it possible?
Besides security updates, is there a good reason to update it ?
