Whenever I'm on LTE I see the spinning Spark icon next to LTE. I don't believe I am in a Spark area and am wondering if it just shows the Spark icon by default, regardless of what level if service you have. Anyone have any input/experiences?

The icon will show with any LTE connection.
LTE is part of Sprint Spark.
Basically it's a useless icon they put on the phones I wish they didn't designed to "sell" people in on something. It's meant to have a placebo effect where when you see it you think you are on a better network magically.
That's what I thought. It's pretty distracting. Can't wait to get rid of it.

I've realized that when connected to Lte the back and forth data that shows on top of the 4g lte icon is always there. On HSPA+ its only there when using data. Is this normal?

This is probably a stupid question, but I can't find anything on it: is the network icon still supposed to turn blue when it connects to Google servers? Or are they just gray now?

There's no indication any more afaik. The data transfer arrows are gone too.
Huh, yeah they did. They're still on the quick tile Wi-Fi tab.

So this started today... When i lose 4g or make a call my signal stays at H+ until reboot which makes 4g come back. I'm on straight talk and have the proper APN settings as this just started.

I'm on sprint and my phone doesn't connect to 4g on its own. Instead of rebooting just cycle airplane mode.

I only had this happen once on my Nexus 5 on AT&T and I did as mentioned and toggled Airplane mode. Other than that one time, my phone always auto-reconnects.
Has any one tried this build prop to fix data issues on n5 I'm having all this issues on my phone but wanted to see what you guys think first.

What are these data issues you speak of? Flash the latest radio that should help with any problems.

What I notices that, whenever the phone picks up LTE network, the signal strength bar resets to 0 then back to full. This is also when phone calls get dropped. Have repeated the Scenario several times and proved that is the cause of my call drops. So I think it is most likely a software issue.

I've been running this edit for a few days now, and have noticed there is a faster connection from 3G to HSPA in my office, which is a plus for me. Can't speak to any other benefits the edit may bring, but I can vouch for the edit making the N5 even better.

Did you flash the latest radio like I posted?
Are you on any special ROM? Using smart radio on gravity box or cataclysm? I sometimes have an issue with no signal on smart radio.

Try .15 radio and go ahead and do those edits. I did them and they seem to help as well as the .15 radio.

Hello, sometimes I have this problem that I randomly can't use 3G data. The 3G icon is still grey (if there's no data its brown), but nothing that requires internet works. Also, the two small arrows near the 3G icon show me that no download is taking place (no down pointing arrow) and only upload arrow is active. Does anyone else have/had this kind of problem?

It could be the APN? Does LTE or Edge work?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
It happens randomly, I am not willing to test the crawling EDGE and I don't have LTE either. I'll add that my previous phone didn't have this issue.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I had a nexus 4 that cut out and bars went at my mates, a 3 blackspot. My Nexus 5 shows bars but looses data and sometimes says I need to insert a working sim and reboot. None of this happens at home. It's like the phone has a breakdown with a weak signal!
