Lol, you need to replace "<unlock key>" with the code that motorola sent you via email. "fastboot oem unlock UNLOCKCODEHERE"

Yes I know that. To post the question here, I just replaced original unlock key with "<unlock key>".
It seems like I am the only person facing this issue.
I am thinking of trying following options. Please let me know, if anything will lead to brick my device.
1. I will factory reset my device and try unlocking bootloader.
OR,
2. Currently my device is running stock android 4.4.4 without root and locked bootloader. Can I downgrade to stock android 4.4.2 by flashing the stock firmware? then try for unlocking bootloader.
My Device is XT1033. Please let me know any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Guys, this is not a problem what anyone can fix here. Maybe one day. At least not now.
Use the Motorola forum in its issue related thread.

Factory resetting will not help! I did that too. I have the same issue. I'm thinking of downgrading my OS. But not sure if that will work.
You are not the only one having this issue and Motorola has responded to this issue:

I recently bought this phone from the previous owner and the new lollipop update just came out for HTC Unlocked and developer versions. I was going to install it but I got the bootloader instead.
I have no idea how this was installed in the first place, and I don't know what to do. So can anyone help me?
Are you saying you tried to install it and after flashing it the device would only boot into bootloader mode?
If so there are several reasons that this could happen. ie: s-on.
You need to register and ask your question here
There are lots of clever people there that will help you.
Good luck
Hi everybody! I hope you can help with this question.
I was wondering how could i get stucked in a bootloop without being root and without unlocking bootloader?
This is a serious question! Please let me know if there is a way to do that. I need to get my phone stucked in a bootloop and i can't find a way without being root.
Thank you all in advance and sorry if i've made mistakes (english is not my first languague )
When I get into fastboot it clearly says lock state is unlocked. I got it there by using the lg cs tool to flash the v410 at&t version kdz. Then I unlocked through ffastboot there. I then used the lg tool to flash the vk410 kdz back to verizon. It seems to work fine just nothing available that i know of to flash to it to see if it works. But when I boot into fastboot it still says Im unlocked. If anybody has any ideas or knows where i could maybe find something to try and flash that would be cool thanks. Also I dont reccomend trying what I did unless your willing to brick your tablet. Just dont do it. Nothing I did was a good idea probably.
So I'm asking if anyone can help me get a recovery that i could install or a rom. Thanks in advance.

Peeked?!?! Do you mean bricked??? Sorry, but if you want help you need to give us much more information... variant, firmware, what you did EXACTLY to get it into this state, if it can be seen in fastboot, recovery can be entered, locked/unlocked, etc.
Jup give some more info please
