Lol, you need to replace "<unlock key>" with the code that motorola sent you via email. "fastboot oem unlock UNLOCKCODEHERE"

Yes I know that. To post the question here, I just replaced original unlock key with "<unlock key>".

It seems like I am the only person facing this issue.
I am thinking of trying following options. Please let me know, if anything will lead to brick my device.
1. I will factory reset my device and try unlocking bootloader.
OR,
2. Currently my device is running stock android 4.4.4 without root and locked bootloader. Can I downgrade to stock android 4.4.2 by flashing the stock firmware? then try for unlocking bootloader.
My Device is XT1033. Please let me know any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Factory resetting will not help! I did that too. I have the same issue. I'm thinking of downgrading my OS. But not sure if that will work.

You are not the only one having this issue and Motorola has responded to this issue:

Hi xdadevelpers team unfortunately i have installed an unoficial rom for my device from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069935 it works very good and no thing wrong with it but i have to send my phone to the Authorized agent here in egypt because of a problem at the sim card place in the phone so i need to get back to the official kernal which is ics is there any way to do this please help me
have you noticed, that this is the Razr HD section ?
And yes. MOAR fonts
Though you are indeed in the wrong forum, i'll help you out
There are 2 possibilities:
1. Your bootloader is unlocked:
Grab the appropriate Stock FW here: XT910 Stock Firmwares
And flash your phone according to this guide: http://www.andromods.com/tips-trick/how-to-restore-unroot-droid-razr-m-xt907-stock-original-firmware.html
Though the guide is for the xt907, it'll also work for xt910. As long as your BL is unlocked...
2. Your bootloader is locked and you're on safestrap:

What do you mean by saved cid? Is your phone carrier locked? Or what are you trying to say? You should pick a stock fw, which is at least your country/region better also from your carrier. It may also not be available at the site i mentioned.
If it is not available you could try and make a request. See the op of this thread
There is no such thing as an "unlocked bootloader" XT910 nor any other OMAP chipset Motorola device unless it is an engineering model with an NS bootloader.
There is no OEM unlock available for those devices and there never will be as the bootloader was never designed to be unlocked.
Motorola themselves have stated as much publicly.
This person has wiped their CID. partition in order to successfully flash a firmware from a different region onto his device.
He should seek advice in the proper forum fro those who have experience with this type of cross flashing issue.
It is precisely as a result of the locked bootloader status of these devices that these kinds of issues arise when users attempt to update their device with firmware not intended for their specific hardware or regional configuration.
Uh thanks for the heads up, wasn't aware of that. I assumed that motorola devices would be all similiar with this.

[Q][solved] device not avaiable unlock bootloader

Hello, my moto g is a locked bootloader, if I change the rom it, I'll get it unlock?
You have to unlock the bootloader first from here if you have a Moto G https://motorola-global-portal.cust...e/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a/action/auth.
Yea in order to install a ROM you have unlock the bootloader, and no installing a custom ROM won't unlock it you have to use the site above to unlock it. If you have a phone locked to any tariff like T-Mobile you won't be able to unlock it even if you unlock the Sim due to the addictions in the software and you will get a message "device not available" or something like this. So you can use guides available on the internet to solve this.

You can`t flash anything if you have a locked bootloader, not even a factory image and certainly not a custom rom. What is the problem on the Motorola site, could you post a screenshot when you try unlocking the bootloader via that site?

Well I haven`t unlocked my Moto (and probably won`t) but maybe you could try following this tutorial to the letter http://xperiahtcrootingrom.com/unlock-motorola-moto-g-bootloader/ or else Google around for users with your similar issue.
thanks for the support, I'll try this link.
wrap your head after a bit I decided to risk it all, I had a rom americamovil br ( claro Brazil ), this did not allow unlock the bootloader, so I installed the fastboot one retail rom Brazil, and yes I got this unlock the bootloader , noting that the risk of losing the IMEI is great, so think carefully before deciding to do the process.
retail location to download the rom:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546251
installation guide via fastboot:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
thanks to everyone who helped me and supported me, now I hope that my doubts much help here from the forum

really glad that worked, went for all or nothing, hope it works for most people who are not able to unlock the bootloader with the original rom device.

TWRP is done. Rooting made me into bootloop. I ran into issues when trying to flash back stock(I flashed the wrong firmware). Could anyone upload the NON-HLOS.bin and fsg.mbn alone?

It is very simple.Just have to get the code from Motorola.I have successfully unlocked the bootloader and Installed TWRP recovery too.Has anyone tried flashing SuperSu on G4 plus.
Here i found a guide they mentioned that it may brick the device.

Probably a replacement is decided on a case by case, so don't always depend on it. Also, this topic is from July...

Well it was because they had a faulty OTA 4.4.4 that when you upgraded from 4.4.2 it would hardbrick devices that unlocked their bootloader. Though I never told them that, just said that it just turned off during charging and after that it wouldn't turn on.

Actually they could easily if they wanted to even if my phone was dead, since when you request unlock code from Moto they void your warranty even if you didn't use it to unlock the bootloader which means that the service centre might be able to check if I requested an unlock code(some sort of database maybe? Idk) but they didn't so yeah pretty lucky.

How to unlock bootloader again on stock 6.0.1

hi guy i already unlock bootloader previously and installed many rom but later i fastboot flashed MM6.0.1 stock and locked the bootloader and it show status :2 , now i want to unlock the bootloader again and want to install twrp and roor the device on stock mm 6.0.1 pls help
The process to unlock again is identical as the first time, if you still have the code you can still use the same one or go through Moto's website to get it again.
Note that some users have stated that if they unlock, then re-lock, unlocking again doesn't work (it worked fine for me though)... And I think one user had an issue where it bricked trying to unlock again but I could be foggy on that one.

You people are foolish even more than me. I wanna abuse you but can't.
If your device shows Bootloader status unlocked allowed 'yes'
Then goto unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com
And select device modle and enter emi number and fu+k yourself and get an unlock code.
And use experifirm to flash any regions firmware even global too.

Please keep your temperament low, Mister.
And thank you for "misguiding" people. I unlocked bootloader, downloaded a ton of roms and none would flash. Each one of them results in errors. Downloaded any custom roms available, most go into bootloop while some wont install even.
Relocked bootloader and still wont install OTAs so I am stuck with stock MM with no possibility of getting Nougat because on SO-01H Nougat update is OTA only and there is no FTF available anywhere.
Thanks again. And please dont swear on public forums.

Thats OK.
I have no idea what jeffal jetwari is, but rest assured your advice was acted upon and it made me lose too many hours trying to fix it. No ftf's for other variants work, not even the global version, no custom roms work and there is really not much of a benefit having unlocked the bootloader. So please only advise on something you have experienced personally.
