Any possible way to get a 3d scan of a certain area? - Other Tools & General Discussion

Hello,
I have a side project I want to setup, I wanted to know with nexus 5 is there any possible way to take a 3d scan or any scan of my land? Like my yard? Its a lawn mowing project I have been thinking about, I want to get a scan of my yard where the lawn mower would go through and cut the grass as necessary. I was wondering if there is way to take video of the land feet by feet and turn it into 3d model? Basically I want to turn an ordinary lawn mower into automatic with a memory of the land so it can follow the track. Anyone have suggestions or where to start?

[Game][Under Development] Cellulon: Attack of the Virii

I've been holding off on posting about this here until now because there was nothing really ready to be shown off anywhere outside my buzz account. Well, it's still nowhere near ready for prime time(it's not even really a game yet and crashes horribly on the Droid) but I think I have enough to at least show off where I am in development.
Without further ado, this is Cellulon: Attack of the Virii. It will be a 2-d platformer with 3d elements(the models and such will be in 3d, just no 3d movement) for the android platform. The idea is that you play as a citizen of Cellulon, a civilization of single celled creatures. The planet is attacked by an alien race called the Virii, basically a race of viruses who are bent on taking over. You work your way through stages trying to stop the Virii and save your planet. I'm planning on having upgrades where you can pick up pieces of RNA and drop them in a representation of the nucleus that will be in the lower right corner, and allow you to various new things like floating upwards, shooting needles, climb walls, etc.
I'll also likely release a level builder where 3rd parties can create and distribute their own custom levels.
Anyway, this is still under heavy production(nowhere near test ready) but I'll throw up some screenshots here(to be updated time to time) of where I am currently. The first screenshot here is of the game so far running on my Nexus One, and the second is a screenshot of the PC-side level creator running in ubuntu.
Just put up a video with my progress as of today(now has a bit better of a model for the cell with better animations and better collision detection): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb8XQVHH_Rc
This is still very early in the development stages, only has two levels, and no enemies. Nevertheless, it's a fairly difficult level and is bug free enough to let everyone play with it. The controls are pretty straight forward. Hold phone in landscape mode, tilt left to go left and right to go right. Press trackball or menu to jump(dpad center on the droid). Try to reach the far right side of the level to win(it will pop up a little banner saying "You Win!". Fall to your death and you lose. Either will require you to press back to quit and restart the level to continue playing(from the beginning).
Update: Now has a 3rd level featuring enemies. Getting hit 3 times by the enemies will result in a loss. Kill the enemies by slamming down onto them, by jumping over one and then swiping down on the screen. Getting hit or hitting an enemy will make you bounce off of it.
Also, everyone let me know what you think.
I really like the level builder idea, especially if its robust and easy to use...looks promising.
It's viruses, not virii. You've got your Latin wrong.
I've put up another video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBsCsPbgiII.
For this one, I used a screen capture program for Android, which is unfortunately very slow(thus the really slow refresh rate). Nevertheless, I'm hoping this can give somewhat of a representation of what my new refraction effect looks like. I'm quite proud of it, and plan for the main character to look very close to what's shown in the video(depending on the background, of course)
Lookin' good man. Kind of reminds me of a cross between master blaster and sonic the hedgehog 3 (when you'd get the water bubble and bounce around). lol
Hate to bump my own thread, but I have a fairly good reason. I have put up a test version of the game(it's still in really early development and is just one level with no bad guys) for everyone to play with. Read the first post to see details on controls/errata. Enjoy!

yeah thats what I was finding also. I decided to learn how to make android apps before I go into games, maybe it will help me understand better.
New update up. Now has a 3rd level with a new addition: enemies.
nice haha. we need more platformers for android

Attention all programers!!!! I have a great idea and brought it straight to XDA!!!!!

It came to me one day while getting frustrated at getting to an appropriate link on my device just wanting to check the weather radar online. It was a ton of hassle for something simple. I was hoping/wondering if it would be possible to make an addition to the sense weather tab where when you are looking at it like normal checking the local weather if you could then swipe up and it then would bring up a live animated radar for that area like would be seen if you were looking at a site like accuweather.com or something comperable. I knew this would be the place to get the ball rolling. Does this sound doable to anyone?
c'mon.........all this talent and skill all here on this site and there are no takers for anyone interested in taking this on???
Would love to have near real time radar as a part of Sense...
But what i've found is a high resolution radar on weatherunderground that I saved directly as a favorite on my home screen. That way i can click that link and it will take me to a high resolution radar that is no more than 7 minutes out of date.
In a perfect world would love to have radar apart of sense.
there is a good application TALKING CARL for iphone
i liked it
can u please convert it into pocket pc executable format running on htc touch(win mob 6)
or give me ideas for converting
please reply

REQ: Augmented Reality Arcade Classics

Most of us have a basic understanding of how augmented reality can be brought to the cell phone. My idea consists of AR versions of some of the classics. Any programmers out there willing to give this a try? I don't know if all of these ideas are possible, but think they could be real fun.
AR Pacman - You are big round and yellow with a never ending hunger. Run around eating up pellets that appear floating in front of you. Don't forget to keep your eye on the radar for ghosts. If one is closing in on you you can turn on him and see him floating there in front of you as well. Eat a power pellet and chase him down. Team up with friends running the app to clear the stage faster.
AR Asteroids - Sit yourself down in the captains seat of your own star ship (spinning chair for best effect) and take on incoming asteroids. As you spin around you see asteroids coming from every direction. Keep track of possible threats and weapon/armor upgrades via the radar.
AR Pong - Place yourself in front of a wall or other opponent and move your phone left or right to hit the incoming ball on screen.
I can go on and on naming different classic games that would rock like this, but you get the idea.
AR Pong would be awesome
I am currently developing an AR card game
The goal is to display the cards as if they are on the table in front of you..
you can check my post here or the game is in the market called "Brainy Cards" at the moment the background is a panorama but i'm working on using the camera as the opengl background..
If you check the post here you can see the pictures and the direction I am headed...
I'd like to see something able to read the 3DS augReal cards..

Does an app like this exist? Speed, GS's, Time, on a Map?

Are there any apps that record your path on a map, speed, time, G's, lean angle, etc... as you drive?
I ride a motorcycle and always have my phone in my front pocket. Would be cool to have it data log.
Before I get accused of being a hooligan, there are other uses. Such as reviewing various parts. For instance, I just changed to a new set of tires which handle drastically different than my old ones. I know my comfortable speeds through various corners have changed. Would be awesome if I had hard numbers for that. "Hey guy's I'm thinking about buying X tires".. "Don't do it, I had to slow down 5-10mph through most corners to feel comfortable and safe with them as opposed to Y tires". Or, "I lowered the front and rear PSI by 5 and seem to have just naturally picked up 2mph everywhere and the bike just feels better!".
there are lots of apps that logs your path on the map, speed and time
but not many records G force, or angle
there's one that i use for Pedal BIKE and it sort of does what you want, but not exactly
look up for BIKE Companion in Android Market https://market.android.com/details?id=de.agsteiner.tools.bikecompanion&hl=en
one of the graphs checks how much bumps your G sensor registers, there are other sensors as well, maybe you can use that to substitute the missing stats you want

Shamworld. Your reality.

Hello !
To change the world around you, to make it a better place—everybody dreams about that. This is why a new Shamworld app is now available on Google Play to let you create your version of the augmented reality at particular locations in just few taps! Now not pokemons decide where to appear but you make your ideas real in an augmented world.

How to work with this app
If you feel that this lovely courtyard nearby really lacks the magic of tenants and some sculptures that you chanced to be passing will really look good with a little twist, then now you can do it right on the spot via your smartphone with the installed Shamworld app. A little left to do—to open the app and wait until your location has been found on the map using Google Maps data. A cute green ant will mark your location. All you need to do is to choose an object you would like to see here and to superimpose it into the camera image. When saving your version of the reality for a particular place, you may also share it with all or some of your friends. They will see your work in the Recommended section and will be able to check it out via the app. Various objects can be selected. There are plenty of ready images and even animated GIFs available in this app! You may choose your image in Gallery or add your own photos, emojis and texts.

Shamworld. Changing the reality
To make sure that the object has been tagged to a specific place, you need to choose an object that does not change its place, shape or color over time. That being said, it is unlikely that you can tag something to a backpack forgotten on a bench or to a cute cat sitting nearby. But it can be done easily with the bench itself. However, the tag might be lost if the bench gets changed or repainted one day but this happens not so often.
Shamworld and the world around you
When walking around the Shamworld map you must have already spotted yellow circles with numbers in it here and there. It indicates the number of objects placed by other app users. You may enjoy their arts and get some inspiration for new objects. There are several practical ways to use the Shamworld app. For example, when you go out of some cafe, you may leave your feedback right on its wall—without getting charged with vandalism. The cafe owner himself may place a creative ad in the app to make sure that no one misses it... 4-inch screen or above, RAM—at least 512 kB, camera—3MP or above, and Android 4.2 or above are required for app users. The better phone you have, the better it will all work for you. You may install the app by clicking Google Play :
