Well there is root and recovery for kit Kat but if you flash kk and wanted to flash a 4.2 Rom you would need to flash a jb baseband or it wouldn't boot

Someone already told you what to do. Find a stock ROM, boot up Odin and flash.
the roms you tried work with TWRP... ive used TWRP since release

I don't think they work with TWRP. They will flash fine but they wont boot. I had the same problem as the OP when i flashed them. I guessing its because they aren't setup for unlocked phones yet. OP all you need to do is wipe using TWRP then flash the cyanogen mod 10 leak posted by CVPS. Make sure you flash gapps and you will be good to go.
Locked or unlocked phone shouldn't matter as far as the Rom is concerned, it's been stated many times that the kexec kernels will boot fine on an unlocked phone. I would suggest starting fresh, stock ODIN, root, unlock, then flash CWM 6.0.1.0 with ez recovery and go from there.
Some people are not having any issues with the touch recoveries and others are, in my experience the CWM recovery has been the most stable and I could really care less about "touching" my recovery, buttons do the same thing. Just my 0.02

2-i use the one click root method..so root
3-flash cmw...any version you want as long as it is made for your model phone.....you can use e-z recovery app from market
4-MAKE A ****ING BACKUP!!! very important...
5-download e-z unlock from the play market..use...and done..now you are stock, rooted, unlock bootloader......if you plan on flashing cm10 or aokp or aosp....please make sure to read the thread "how to backup your imei" before flashing any of those roms.............boom goes the dynamite:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:.............................

Kexec roms don't but synergy should have. I use twrp and Synergy no problem. There isn't anything special that has to be setup for an unlocked bootloader.
Op you should be able to flash any non kexec rom. Did you do a wipe factory reset? If not you may want to give that a try

Did you have a custom recovery installed...? Or were you stock completely?
You said you had the bootloader unlocked and it rooted, so I'm going to assume you were on CWM or TWRP... so did you put stock recovery back on before updating? You can't take system updates if you're on custom recovery.. you have to put the stock recovery back on, then update, then re-do recovery & root.

1-ics bootloader
2-GBtwrp
3-Su_Bbox_1.20.2_gazhead_signed flashe this zip withe recovery mode and you get acces root

I am almost sure, plus I think I read about it somewhere.
GUYS:
You can flash custom bootloaders, flash recovery, root from recovery and reflash stock bootloaders and kernel afterwards, using xbsall's rebooter tool (if you want it, search it in his v8 rom thread).
OR (and this is better if you want to keep it stock)
You can root using 2nd init recovery, without changing stock bootloaders and kernel.
Just install 2nd init recovery with the attached P940RecoveryInstaller (Thanks to Milaq) (just put in sd card and install it).
Enter 2nd init recovery by pressing VolDown while booting or by pressing key inside the program.
NOTE: flash the attached Root_P920_ICS from recovery to root.

That's odd, never had any error while installing it, and also xbsall uses it in his roms...
In what rom are you?
Try to install it after rebooting the phone.
I have root ics v30a by these steps:
1/ flash wpark v1.25 bootloader
2/ flash twrp recovery (step 1 and 2 by all in one tool)
3/ flash super user by twrp
4/ flash back ics stock bootloader and done
For me now i think i have stock and rooted v30a.
All thinks for 4 steps above can be found in this forum ( all in one tool topic and noob guide for xbsall topic)
Im not sure but when i come from ics port from su760 to stock p920 ics, my touch screen has problems (i have a dead spot that cant touch able at bottom right corner). And flashing freroot v28b from xbsall may be the cause. After a week try to test its hardware or software problem ive found it.
Now i solve touch screen problem by these steps:
1/ flash v21e stock bin posted by xbsall guide and attached.
2/ setup complete stock v21e and make a back up.
3/ flash v30a stock and root as above and the stock screen problem are gone.
I dont know why but if i skip step 2 and flash v30a inmediately and the touch screen problems still there

Be careful.
When I reverted to the ICS stock bootloader I ended up with LG Security Error (and had to flash back the wkparks 1.25a boot & cwm recovery !)
If you want custom ROM you need custom bootloader.
You MIGHT be OK with stock boot if staying on stock (rooted) ROM...

No, that's not it.
You may have custom rom with stock bootloaders, that's ok.
What's incompatible is stock bootloaders with custom kernels.
You got that security error because you had custom kernel installed.
So, the option is:
1. stock bootloaders and stock kernel
2. if you want custom kernel, you must flash modified bootloaders.
Well...80% of custom ROM's have custom kernels these days or/and require modified bootloaders...
Used all in one tool and flashed ics bootloader and gingerbread twrp. all good. flashed su root.zip from recovery[twrp]. allgood flashed ics stock bootloader. all good BUT cannot get into twrp recovery by using vol+ and 3D and power on. Has flashing stock bootloader wiped the twrp recovery? Or has the method of getting into recovery been altered by the stock bootloader.
Many thanks, KW

Stock bootloaders include stock recovery.
If you want custom recovery (twrp or cwm) you must flash again modified bootloaders.

Well, actually most of the existing custom roms come in zip (flashable in recovery) format, and those don't include any bootloaders or kernels.
Only bin or kdz roms come with bootloaders and kernel (for example, xbsall's pre-rooted bins).

problem flashing roms on moto g xt1032

Hi, I'm new to flashing roms and after installing CWM 6.0.4.7 on my xt1032 and rooting whenever i try to flash a rom it gets stuck in the boot animation. I have tried CM 11 Carbon rom and paranoid android. I don't know if I'm using the wrong GAPPS or what. Please help.
Gapps are not the problem:the same thing was happening to me. The real problem is the bootloader: if you are on kitkat, you have to revert to stock jelly bean (4.3), install custom recovery (for JB), root and flash the custom rom you desire. That's the only way that worked for me.

Go back to Stock and start from Scratch.
As long as you can enter fastboot you should be fine.

Try this, when you get to the broken android follow the instructions in the link below for "external reset" this will reset your phone.
https://motorola-global-portal.cust..._detail/a_id/97329/p/30,6720,9050/action/auth
if that fails just flash a stock 4.4 image with fastboot using one of the guides.

Yes thank you so much I'm back on 4.4.2 You guys are great
hello everyone
I have a question about PaulOBrien superboot root method (look in modaco forum the moto g root method 1).
I have a 16GB Moto G and updated to Kitkat via OTA.
yesterday I used the method 1 (superboot) on windows 7, to root my phone, and run it for the first time and ended on a black screen with green bars (supposedly normal). I power off the phone and turned on and load kitkat normally and noted that the phone was not rooted.
y tried the method for a second time and have the same results (ended on a black screen with green bars), but when kirkat launched, on the initial screen i saw a message "System UIDs Inconsistent. UIDs on the system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable." and the system didn't respond.
I performed a factory reset via stock recobey and kitkat showed the same message but let me in the "i´m feeling lucky button" worked this time. there I noticed that my device was now rooted but non app was able to access the internal memory due to some r/w permissions as I think, because when I try to copy files to the phone via USB cable, I get have the same denial, even whit ADB push i get the same message of permissions denial.
I need a way to solve this because in this actual stage the phone works but the apps have like no access to the memory making them unusable,
for example i cannot take a picture, or download a file, for some reason all google apps not work or force close every time.
I need a way to upload a .img file to the phone in order to perform a recobery or to make a fresh install via fastboot, donn't know how to make the phone let me wrhite files on it. :crying:
(note: sorry for my bad English)

As long as you can enter the bootloader you haven't bricked anything!!! so don't you worry!
I have two questions: when did you download the stock rom, did you check the MD5 ??? Are you sure that it wasn't a bad download ?
Additionally: are you sure that you have downloaded the appropriate ROM? Did you try to flash any other ROM?

I am having the same issue. I got this xt1032 after it was OTA upgraded to Lollipop 5.0.2 and I downgraded it to KitKat 4.4.4 Stock. Now I'm also getting stuck on the boot animations on every Custom ROM I try to flash on it.
Does anyone know if having the bootloader upgraded due to the Lollipop update has anything to do with this? mine is at Ver. 41.18.
EDIT: I was finally able to flash after Formatting Data from Recovery. Keep in mind this will basically delete everything from the internal storage and you need to put everything back there manually. Always make sure you backup your info/apps/music/fotos before Formatting Data.

[HELP] Root motorola XT925 with 4.4.2 OTA update

Hello it's been several days i can't find a solution to my problem. I flash official RTFR 4.1.2 via RDS Lite and then i upgrade to Kitkat 4.4.2 via OTA update.
When my phone reboot i have The Unlocked Bootloader Warning logo on the screen, but i lost the root.
This is the version i have: 180.46.127.XT925.CEE-Retail.en.EU.
I did install a recovery (Philz Touch, CWM,) but when i reboot to recovery it was not working and i had the google Droid with a red triangle.
I'd like to know if it is possible to root my phone in order to flash the CM12 ROM? Or with this official update i'm stuck with 4.4.2 and won't be able to root?
Thanks for your help.
When you install a custom recovery after taking the OTA, the recovery will usually ask you to disable stock recovery restore. If you don't, then the stock recovery will be reinstated upon next boot. Once you've got a custom recovery installed and disabled the stock recovery, you should be able to root it from there. Most modern recoveries will handle both the disabling of stock recovery restoration and install root (su) for you.
I know the one I use does.

When i installed the recovery it didn't ask me to disable stock recovery restore. Where do i get that request, on my phone or on my PC? Which custom recovery that allow me to disable the stock recovery do you recommand?
After you install recovery, immediately power off your phone, boot straight back into recovery (not the OS, otherwise stock recovery will over ride the aftermarket recovery), once in recovery the update script will complete and the installation will be complete. Once in the recovery, you can choose the option that CW mentioned.
