No sound on call - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been facing this issue on my indian dual sim moto g since last 3-4 days. When i try to make a call i realise that there is no sound coming from the call. Putting it in speaker mode our putting a headset on does not help. The other party also cant hear anything.
The only solution to this seems to rebooting the phone which rectifies the issue. But i have already had this issue thrice in the last 3-4 days. Anyone else facing this issue or anyone has any idea of why it could be occurring?

Hmm.. wonder if its affecting in the indian dual sim model only or global version too. But the strange thing is that the issue occurred even when i switched to cm11 too. So i guess it has something to do with the radio..

This issue is common on most Moto G phone. Here - https://forums.motorola.com/posts/efb1c28e8d
You can fix it by pressing both volume down and up button at the same time.

Thanks a lot for the solution.. i had no idea that it could be resolved without a reboot. Happened to me today and got sorted after trying your fix..
Edit: just saw on another thread that this issue is happening on nexus 5 too. Seems like an issue with 4.4.2 and will hopefully be resolved with an update..

I think it's a problem of your device. As your problem is solved after a reboot, you may reset you phone, and observe whether the problem arise again or not. If the same problem arise again, you should better to contact the customer care.

Thanks for replying. But i am not the only one facing this issue. There are many moto g users who have complained of the same issue on various threads. I just thought that i will try to find the cause of this issue that's y opened a new thread. Also as i mentioned in the previous post, a guy with nexus 5 is facing the same issue. This tells me that its a prob with kitkat rather than my device..

um.... maybe you should try flashing another rom with Odin first.
there might be a system bug instead of hardware problems
i got same problem yesterday,i was on data mode with wechat and dialer running that time.
yes, my also hangs, new battery does not help, I tried about 5 ROMs with/without root 4.1.2, 4.2.2, I also tried other kernels, the undervoltage ones - it reset and hangs much more - so I assume it might be something to do with voltage on cpu on certain frequences
Same problem here. I've already taken my phone back to store for repairs twice and updated to 4.2.2, but still no change. It behaved nicely for a week since last repairs, but now it keeps restarting and powering off randomly.

yes download the 4.1.2 firmware from here:

I9105: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-I9105&pcode=0#firmware
flash back with odin 3.07
Jups have these problems also on 4.1.2 the best thing now is to wait for a fully working CyanogenMod Build.

Thanks. I will see if he wants to go to service again, or let me try to fix it. But better to ask them to downgrade for him, he did not have problems before 4.2.2 I think. And next solution would be CM.
Lol. Another solution is to buy another phone

[Q] Screen is black put still on (get calls, vibrates etc)

Hey guys!
I've had my phone for a couple of moths and just a few days ago it started acting weird. When i lock and unlock the phone my screen is black, but the phone is on and "fully working". If someone calls me, the phone vibrates but the screen is still black. Only way to fix it is to reboot. Anyone had this issue or know any solution?
Thanks

Its just a Franco issue as far as I know I've had the same issues using r40 using the stock kernel or any others its fine no s.o.d

Nice...
Glad I saw this thread. I was thinking it was a kernel related issue. I'm rooted stock with Franco. I was having the issue a few times around r40 - r44. Updated to r45 the other day and haven't had any issues since.
The issue disappeared as soon as I updated to r47. Thanks, guys

Warranty/ board replacement will be the fix.
It could be a battery issue. But most likely hardware problem.

If I already read, it seems that I am not the only one with the same problem really is very annoying to have to format every time I want to uninstall the applications and to leave everything as it was
the problem is due to upgrade to MM and also you can't lock your phone with password when you click on security an unknown error comes! i have same problem then i downgrade it to LP knowing that my BL is locked so that my phone is bricked and stuck on 9008 mode , someone also post the solution of 9008 but the files he provided is for older models not for my latest MM one, so my advice to you wait for new update or discuss this matter with LG Support and don't try to downgrade !
I have the same problems. It is very annoying not to be able to uninstall any app.
Software Version H81020n. I updated via adb because I'm not in USA and can't get a ATT simcard.
Did someone find any solution to this?
Thanks.

EMUI 5 Nougat Random Reboots

I've been on EMUI 5 for months now and I did a factory reset after upgrading from marshmallow. I face random reboots after every 10 days or so if the device hasn't been restart or turned off in between. I'm running B361, anyone else facing this?

Not sure. Never faced such issues on stock roms.
Bump. No one?
Never seen something similar even because i reboot every evening my phone to avoiding the accumulation of many hours on activity (maybe nothing to worry about, but it's an habit of mine that i take with me from years). Why don't you try to reboot it every 5 days if the reboot incomes after the 10th, just to eliminate this case?
Guys please mention your firmware version as well. This might be an issue on just the firmware I'm on.
