Ok,, This is what happened
I was in stock 4.1.2 and installed Custom ROM,, since that I felt lost few of photos and videos. I didn't feel good with that Custom ROM so I installed back to stock 4.1.2 and automatically upgraded to 4.2.2. And since that I lost greater than before. I used many recovery software to recover my lost but I had nothing. I decided back to 4.1.2 but something worse happened,, 3/4 of my video and gallery disappear,, :crying::crying::crying:
Perhaps someone know what should I do or anyone had same experience like me?
# Sorry for my bad english :fingers-crossed:

After checking sd card throughly using CWM recovery i managed to find out that every thing was there but flashing a new rom mounted a new partition kinda thingy lol old data was saved as SDcard/data but after the flash new data was saved as SDcard/0/data and i couldnt find any way to access the old data.. I had to format the sdcard completely using CWM to get back the space taken by my old data though...

You're welcome I'm always happy to help.. Well the problem is I couldn't find any way to recover the old data... so was forced to completely format my tab using CWM recovery to get back the space of almost 6 GB taken by my old data.. if you can somehow get back to the old partition then it might be possible to get it back but sadly i wasn't able to find anything on the net though.. BTW it didn't happened again though so far and yes you are right it only happened on my tab... I flashed new ROMs multiple times on HTC desire C and Samsung Galaxy Y DUOS but this never happened..

i dont have sd card. Sorry dont know about it. Just take it out
I didn't lose any data or apps but it will trash you home screens. They revert to factory defaults I think. I did my update with my SD card in with no issues there.
Update was fairly painless except for my trashed home screens that I spent a lot of time getting the way I wanted them. Even though the update was easy, I haven't been very happy with ICS. Touchwiz has force closed a bunch. Still working on what widget(s) I'm using that may be causing that. Seems laggy also. Maybe things will get better. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset and start clean.
Backup your data. I lost all my info. After updating to ics I was stuck on the att logo had to factory reset to get my phone working again.

Hey if I could get a little help here it would be appreciated. I've tried almost every TW Rom out there and I'm getting bored and have tried to flash 4.2 Roms. Every time I do my phone starts acting weird. I have all kinds of sub directories, I can't find any files, my tibu backups, and my memory says it's full when I have plenty of room on my TW Roms. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
Thank you again in advance for any help!

Move everything you need from the internal sdcard card and then format it before you flash the 4.2 rom

Here is the problem. I have my Galaxy Ace plus on my hand now. Two days ago, I charge it inside my magnet-case. While charging I saw my phone is restarting automatically. I already take the battery out for a day and I try it again. My phone go to the home screen, it is, but only for fewer than 10 second. My assumpsion, that my phone is disrupted by the magnetic radiation. However, I already consider to update the firmware or hard reset. But, is there any other solution? Or could somebody tellme how to update the firmware or probably hard reset it?
Thanks in advanve

First of all is your Ace Plus rooted?? Have you installed clockworkmod recovery and created nandroid backup?? Have you installed a custom ROM or kernel??
If not, you must be on stock, u better try saving your data like contacts, messages etc on your computer/laptop and do a factory reset! It'll be there system setting...
And what you mean by "update the firmware"?? How you planning to do that??
And if I were you, I wouldn't use that magnetic case!

I haven't rooted my Ace Plus and neither use the clockwordmod. Absolutely I am in stock right now. That's what I concern about that how to back up my contact and message if my phone cannot be kept on even for a minute. If I can make a back-up especially for the contacts in my phone, I will directly take a factory reset. Or, is there any way to get access to internal/usb storage while the condition of the phone is like what I've said (turned on in 10 second) ?
'Firmware update' I mean here is, to update the android version or on the other way is to put a custom ROM.
Dude for backing up try using kies!! Or just save sd card data on your computer! If you can, download my backup from play store and backup your data!! Or if nothing works save contacts on sim and forget the rest! Then go to setting, there should be a reset option and choose factory reset data!! If you still have problem after restarting, take it to service centre!!
And that firmware update is a minor update!! Even I had that when I bought my SGA+!! It's not major android update!!
And dude can I get some thanks?? Just click the "thanks" button below!! :victory:

Dear friend, I guess I have a solution for your problem but you need to answer my two questions:
1-Are you running GingerBread 2.3.6?
2-Switch off your phone (I suggest removing the battery and replacing it first)
Hold the following buttons at the same time (hold the power button at last): HOME, VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN and POWER.
Your phone should boot now in your stock recovery mode, just wait for 10 or more seconds, does your phone reboot by itself after this period?

Finally I got it friends, thanks for your suggestion. I think that that's okay to delet ALL of my internal data. Then I do hard reset and now using stock ROM with Gingerbreas 2.3.6...

Ok, so I probably know the answer to this already :crying:
Brief story - stock rooted ROM with custom kernel. Made backup with TWRP. Flashed stock boot, img and system.img in fastboot, flashed downloaded update from 4.4 -> 4.4.2 in recovery. Wiped cache and dalvik - started but recovery locked up. Had to hold power to reboot phone. Booted fine but no network, no IMEI, no baseband.
And no I don't have and EFS backup
I take it the phone is now buggered.
Is there anything I can do to fix this??
Appreciate anything that might help this.

The same thing happened to me. Flash the latest version of TWRP, wipe your cache again, and your phone will be back to normal.
not true for all you may end up having to RMA I had my efs backup it still didn't fix it sorry to be the bearer of bad news but they make it sound like bringing it back is 100% but in some cases that's not true

In his case, if he just does what I said to do he'll be fine. He didn't lose his EFS, he rebooted in the middle of a cache wipe and his partitions got messed up. Updating TWRP and wiping the cache again will set everything straight. This is a fairly common issue with older versions of TWRP.

I'm just saying the same thing happens to me and nothing that's suggested fixed it that's why I say its not 100% me and another guy both had the same problem and the only way was to RMA I also had my efs but even after doing everything from going back to stock updateubg twrp and reflashing my esf backup my phone would not correct its self so I'm not saying that this method doesn't work for some people but for me and another used it was a no go
So why are you guys still using twrp if it is causing issues?
Just use cwm instead!

because the majority dont have any problems.
and people, take precautionary measures and back up your efs partition, its the first thing i did as soon as i had a custom recovery. it takes 2 seconds. and store it somewhere OTHER then your phones internal storage, like on a comp or dropbox

Yeah but did it happen to you the way it happened to OP? So far every single person that I have come across who was in this boat due to a bad cache wipe in TWRP was able to fix it by updating TWRP and re-wiping the cache. It's a well known issue.

Thanks for the help guys. Got it up and running again more by accident than anything. Seems like MetalHead was correct, the partition was fine but just not readable. Unfortunately in order to get up and running again I flashed all the stock images in flasboot and did a full factory reset in the stock recovery which fixed the problem. Sounds like I could have done without the full wipe after all but at least it's all fixed now.
As for backing up the EFS, lesson learned. I had the 1st official TWRP on the phone which had no option for EFS backup like the current one. Guess what I'll be doing right now??
Anyway, happy man again and thanks to all that replied :good:
I must apologize for saying its not 100% but the truth is I had the exact same thing happen and no stock or fast boot cache fixed it I'm living proof that it works for the masses but under rare circumstances this just doesn't solve it oh man how I wish this would've fixed mine I been using a inspire 4g its killing me I feel like I jumped out of a beemer and landed in a pinto lol

on a side note , can anyone tell me what is the safest version of TWRP there ? i.e without this cache wipse issue ( taking too long to wipe ? )

I have a problem with my Neuxs 5.
A month ago i flashed my Nexus on Android L and yesterday i also rooted it.
Then a few hours later it crashes. I don't know why and I can't boot it anymore.
Today i tried to flash it new without a data loss, but the problem is that the apps run all perfectly except for that i can't save anything and could not open the galerie.
But in the settings i can see that there is a memory. Only i can't access on it.
I want the data from the memory, but i don't know how.
I hope you can help me and sorry for my english.

No unfortunately not.
I have the Total Commander
Go back to Kitkat through factory images.
its a very common issue with flashing L, your storage isnt seen because the location changed.
1. you can move everything back manually(your storage is still there, just in another location).
2. or you can flash the factory img for 444 via fastboot.

With this toolkit i can make a copy of all data on the phone.
After this i flashed Android L and the IMEI get also back.
Please learn to fix things manually. Toolkits are the root of all evil
