Sorry for a newb question. I just upgraded from an old HC rom to Tim's latest Katkiss rom. Do I just load the latest Gapps (4.4.2) or can I load the earlier Gapps (4.3.1 and 4.2.2) package? Just wondering as the newest Gapps package is pretty lean compated to the others.
TIA
You should use 4.4.2 Gapps for 4.4.2
You can end up with compatibility issues, things not working, sometimes not even booting if you use the wrong Gapps
You can always download missing Apps from the Play store once you are up and running, it's the 4.4.2 base gapps that are important to use the correct ones for

I just recently installed CM 10.1 on my Infinity and ran into a problem when installing gapps. I have installed the package from CWM and once i reboot into the OS none of the gapps are on my device. I am using a CM nightly generated on March 6th, and the android 4.2.2 gapps from goo.im/gapps. does anyone know what the problem may be?
Cyanogenmod & gapps: After installing gapps, keyboard keeps crashing. Can't type anything at all.
I installed Cyanogenmod with Android 4.2.2, Cyanogenmod version 10.1.3-d2vzw
Galaxy S3 Verizon is the phone.
I've used the recommended 20130812 gapps for the version of CM I have.
If I completely empty cache, etc., and reinstall CM fresh without gapps, everything is fine, but I can't really do anything without gapps...
So, that's my predicament
Even if you can recommend maybe an older /newer version of gapps to me that's stable / for the GS3, then I can try that too.
Hi, I've rooted and flashed ROMs on previous devices but this has me stumped.
I installed CM 10.1.3 using a guide from unlockr
However I forgot to install Gapps (was blindly following the guide)
No bother, I downloaded Gapps for CM 10.1 from the official Cyanogen wiki page
However I'm getting constant google services force closes and Play store cannot update anything without an error.
I managed to install ROM manager via SD card, however it is constantly force closing, so I can't boot into recovery or flash a new ROM.
Does anyone know how I can start fresh, or flash a new ROM & Gapps, bearing mind ROM Manager will not work (reinstalled and cleared cache/data to no avail).
Some important info
- Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (p5110)
- Rooted
- CWM recovery
- CM 10.1.3
P.S. I thought I could reinstall a ROM through ODIN, however I don't know how to install Cyanogen mod though ODIN as it's a zip file.
Any advice on this would be great, and I can provide more info. if needed.
Are you sure they're for CM 10.1? It sounds like you've got the wrong gapps version.

Hey guys, I'm kinda new to the Forum and figured I'll just post my question here.
I'm running a nightly of AICP 7.0 on my Nexus 5. I previously ran Lollipop but discovered that it drained a lot more battery than KK so I switched back. Now I want to try the Cataclysm Lollipop ROM, but I don't want to install all my apps again or wipe my current ROM. Is it possible to just sideload the Cataclysm ROM over my existing AICP ROM via TWRP Sideload function? If not, you guys have any clue how to do this? The main reason I want to sideload and/or install without losing my apps is because I want the Google Cards and Google Now to work for me which it doesn't in Lollipop. I previously ran KK and sideloaded the Lollipop image and that left me with all my apps and Google Now as it is and everything was good (expect for the battery drain and camera FC on Lollipop)
Any help on this would be much appreciated

sideloading in twrp means to put the file on your phone via adb. what you want to do is dirty flash. first, make a nandroid backup in your recovery(in case dirty flashing doesnt go well, then you can restore your old rom). then download and flash the other rom in your recovery(su and gapps also). by dirty flashing, you dont lose data. if your dirty flash didnt go well, you can restore your nandroid backup.
I am currently on EuphoriaOS May 3 with TWRP 2.8.6.0 and want to revert back to Final Mahdi 4.4.4. What is the procedure to do this?
Your going to need to flash the KitKat firmware before flashing the ROM. You can flash the last cyanogenmod snapshot CM11 build. It has the firmware built in. Then wipe again and flash mahdi/4.4.4 gapps. You can find those on android file host.
