Hi, I've rooted and flashed ROMs on previous devices but this has me stumped.
I installed CM 10.1.3 using a guide from unlockr
However I forgot to install Gapps (was blindly following the guide)
No bother, I downloaded Gapps for CM 10.1 from the official Cyanogen wiki page
However I'm getting constant google services force closes and Play store cannot update anything without an error.
I managed to install ROM manager via SD card, however it is constantly force closing, so I can't boot into recovery or flash a new ROM.
Does anyone know how I can start fresh, or flash a new ROM & Gapps, bearing mind ROM Manager will not work (reinstalled and cleared cache/data to no avail).
Some important info
- Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (p5110)
- Rooted
- CWM recovery
- CM 10.1.3
P.S. I thought I could reinstall a ROM through ODIN, however I don't know how to install Cyanogen mod though ODIN as it's a zip file.
Any advice on this would be great, and I can provide more info. if needed.
Are you sure they're for CM 10.1? It sounds like you've got the wrong gapps version.
-Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

hi everyone, just not sure if you have this problem before.
this is my situation:
I have tried to flash mike.1986 's new rom, Android revolution hd 9.0, but it has got stuck on the EFS partition screen and then my note 10.1 (n8000) cannot be turn on properly again.:crying:
So i use odin to flash the official rom (from sammobile), back to the Chinese PRC version. and it works again.
But i found out that the PRC rom does not have google framework, no play store, no google map and etc. so i downloaded a HK version one, but in Odin, it came out error, and not working again. Try all other official roms, but no of them working except the PRC one.
I have tried to flash CMW recovery, and install zip from sd card, like what i have been told. none of the custom roms work as well. :crying:Also tried the Wammlite rom, it said flash completed, but then it stucked on Galaxy Note 10.1 screen....:crying:
That's about it. If anyone can kindly let me know to flash other roms instead of the PRC official rom, that will be great.:fingers-crossed:
Thank you so much in advance!:highfive:
Problems sloved
Used the Galaxy Note 10.1 Tool Kit, use the TWRP instead of CWM. Then all good! Thanks to mskip!:good:
I recently rooted my galaxy tab 2 P3110 with Odin and CWM recovery 6011 and i seemed to have wiped the stock android os as i cannot boot into it anymote - the Tablet automically boots into CWM all the time
Then when i try to install Slimrom or CM installer to flash and install a new OS but i getting an error 7 - unverified file so i cannot put any Os back on the device
Can anyone help?
Sounds like you flashed the wrong recovery, possible that you installed the p3100 recovery.
Try reflashing the recovery.

Flashing KK ROMs on outdated recovery will get you a status 7 error. Grab the latest (I'd go with TWRP as CWM support will be ending soon) version from here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548257 update to the latest one you like (CWM is 6.0.5.0) Load up a ROM and give it a go. I put all my ROMs on an external card to be safe. Maybe do that and then just install from such.
p,s. CM installer never works, I dont think our tabs are compatible with it. At least I've never got it to work. But, you dont need it anyways.
Hi Experts,
I want to upgrade my samsung galaxy note GT-N7000.
After reading on how to install custom rom to N7000. I tried one of the way to install the Custom Rom using Install from Zip using SD card.
Steps i have performed to install custom rom are mentioned below:
1. I have install one app to root my phone.
2. Checked with the help of MD5File checkup to confirm that my phone is rooted or not and found that my phone has been rooted.
3. I have gone to developer option and checked USB Debugging.
4. I have not installed any backup tool for the current recovery.
5. i have copied the N7000 CWM Nightly rom which is for KitKat, but it failed in the verification and errored with Status 7.
6. Then with some other roms its failing in status 6.
8. At last one rom Slimsaber got passed in the verification and removed the current rom but while installing or mounting its rom it failed....(This action is performed using Install using Zip from SD Card)
Result was that my phone got hung on the logo. But some how i managed to installed one korean rom on the phone which was having a older version i.e. 4.0.3 and its update was not available so i got my phone updated with the stock rom of 4.1.2 version from samsung store. So now its back to where i have started
Query:
1. Is that the reason i have not installed a custom recovery tool for the existing rom in case the new rom fails (I have missed 4th point: Is there any best app that backup for current stock rom)
Request:
1. Can you guys please tell me which is the ROM that works for N7000 India version for Kitkat and Lollipop(If available)
2. Please suggest the rom that works with Odin because i have bad exp with installing from SDcard. If possible please provide a link for that tar file.
Really appreciate your support and thanks in advance.

You should install/flash a custom recovery and make a complete system (nandroid) backup directly in the custom recovery.
There are some other apps, which can create an Online Nandorid backup (just check Play store), but some apps are not compatible with all devices and to restore such a backup, you will need a custom (CWM or TWRP) recovery anyway.
To get best advices about custom recovery, ROMs, etc. for your device, please ask in the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [FAQ] [Q&A] [Noob Friendly] HELP THREAD - POST ALL YOUR SUPPORT QUESTIONS HERE thread.
P.S.: To install/flash a custom ROM provided as zip file, you usually need a custom recovery. Stock recovery only flashed signed zip file (e.g. official OTA update files from Samsung).

Do you mean this unofficial CM11: [ROM][4.4] CM 11 Unofficial - Beta 7 11-22-13 (Discontinued due to new device)?
Or this one: Cyanogenmod CM11?
Please check this thread: T999 UVDMD5 Firmware / Bootloader.
According to this, you might have to update some files (bootloader, modem, etc.) to be able to install newer CM versions.
AFAIK, only CM10 is officially suported for your device: [ROM][OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 10 Nightly Builds for SGH-T999.
If you have further questions, please ask in the T-Mobile Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.

I have wiped the date and cache.I have the ZIP files (CM 10 and GAPPS) in external memory. when i am trying to install the CM11 it is showing "INSTALLATION ABORTED with error number 7". But when I am trying to install GAPPS it completed successfully.

you should upgrade your recovery too. try twrp 3.0.2-3 from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424954613
and install it with your current recovery. make a reboot back into recovery.
wipe dalvik, cache, system and format data http://andi34.github.io/faq/faq_twrp.html
make a new reboot into recovery and install your rom and gapps.
OK

Redowload the ROM again it might be corrupt and use the exact gapps
Best ROM for your tab is omni 4.4.4 or cm13 or omni 6.0.1
Just the latest TWRP go wipe then advanced wipe then wipe everything except the external SD. Install install your chosen ROM flash the equivalent gapps, flash super user update reboot you are done. all what you need is here in Andoid-Andi files http://andi34.github.io/

don't flash a separate supersu.zip if you would install cm13. supersu causes bootloops on cm13.
if you need root access on cm13, go to dev.-options and enable root access. set it to "apps and adb"
thats all.
cm13 is pre-rooted, so no need for flashing supersu.zip
OK

[MENTION=457974].. yes you are right about super user. I think pmni6.0.1 needs a super user to be flashed. Any way I have seen SU on cm13 and no problem at all... Untill now. Do I need to remove it or keep the root access from dev tools disabled.

omni6 need supersu right.
if supersu are working on cm13 by Markox89 for you everything is fine. i would keep the root access from dev.-options disabled
