Combining the neo forums with this forum? - Samsung Gear 2

Would this be a good idea? Both watches run on the same platform and are identical except for the camera in terms of components. I think it would help both communities if all posts were in one place versus two separate forums. Thoughts?

Currently, if you are on the Forum page, you can type "Gear" into the "Type To Find Your Device..." field and find all of the Gear forums, but there is a glitch if you are on the News page, so just click the Forum tab first.

ahh I see
would be great if they merge it
I am tired to switch between them :/

+1 think that would make it easier if they combined.

galaxy note apps?

Sorry if this is like an often asked question but i couldn't find anything from googling and searching etc.
I was wondering if its possible to get the apps that the galaxy note 10.1 has? the ones that work with the "s pen". I'm talking like the conversion into typed words etc... if not whether there was a decent alternative?

I'd be interested in this as well. Are there other useful note apps as well?

i think its just a whole lot more kinda enabled for a stylus, I've been thinking about the possibility of creating and being able to flash a note rom onto the device (with a slight bit of hacking of cause )
oh and i've found out the real name for the app, the app is referred to as 's note'

[Suggestion for Rules] Identify users' posts

I am going to receive my Nexus 7 in couple of days and I have started reading the respective forums. I got scared when I saw one of the threads has more than 1000 pages i.e. more than 10,000 posts I have to read to avoid falling on others' mistakes or to avoid repeating a question.
With such thread it is next to impossible to read it and keep the device in the safe side from mistakes which were faced by other users.
Therefore, I would suggest if there is a general Rule in all replies or posts to mention the word [Problem] in the starting of any post.
If this will be followed, it will be easier for users to search for the problems which others faced in a particular thread for a ROM, app, mod, etc...
Hope my idea is clear.
Or just Google search your problem and append xda and your device at the end of the query

What u need to read is the entire OP of the ROM u want and follow the directions. I've never had a problem after doing that

The last pages of kernel, rom and tweak releases contain and cover the biggest parts of what's new and what could happen. You're never alone with a problem. Some development sub forums have guides for nearly everything.
Looks the idea isn't good. Anyways it was just and idea.

Hi, I have a cdma based android phone. The model is zte v6700. Purchased yesterday for my dad who had cdma sim. He finds difficult to swipe and answer call. In my note 2 I've installed big screen ID, which allow me to tap to answer or decline. I tried installing this app and still doesn't work. Is there any way to get tap to answer instead of swiping up to accept.

[Q] Device listing order

Just out of curiosity, I wonder how and why the different Android devices are listed the way they are? I mean for example why some of the carrier labeled SGS3 are listed in one section of the forum list and then after those listings you find completely different devices and after those different all the sudden the international SGS3 is listed. This occurs when clicking the forum button on the main XDA page. Without beeing logged in. Luckily I can set whatever device I want when I log in.
I believe it's the order in which the boards were added, so chronologically.

Actually, what ShadowLea said is correct. Infact, while using the site it shows the list opposite to how it is displayed via the XDA/Tapatalk app.
Using the app, the top of the forum list will display the first device added to XDA (which hasn't yet been moved to the Legacy forums) and the bottom of the list will show the most recent device forum to be added to XDA.
As it's opposite on the site, the top of the forum list will show the most recent device to be added and the bottom of the list will show the first device to be added to XDA.

OK I understand. Sorry for asking such a unimportant question... As you know, curiosity killed the cat. (me cat)

New Note 10.1 2014 edition

I just bought my first Samsung device, and it appears to be a newer model than what I'm seeing in the forum. Mine is an SM-P600. Everything I see mentioned in forum posts is some variant of N8000 series.
Doors anyone here have experience with my version yet?
Is there a root method for it?
Thanks in advance for all answers.

If you weren't aware, there is an entire forum section explicitly for the new version. And the threads there are plenty busy.

Tips for a pleasant XDA:
Search before asking. Someone has likely already asked.
Spell your words completely, and use punctuation. It confuses people when you use "u" and "ur" and "dat", or when you wrongly use "there/their/they're/your/you're".
Be nice. Don't be rude, just move on to another post without leaving a comment. We are not 7 years old.
And PLEASE, do not ask for the "best" anything. We all have our preferences.
No, I wasn't aware. This is the only one that came up in the search. I'll look again.
Thanks.

xda help please

My question is how do I get to the AT&T s8 plus forums as the app doesn't have all the phones listed just top and new?
Go to the 'Top' section, click the search icon and type in Samsung Galaxy S8+ and click search (or hit enter) and there should be a bunch of carrier specific S8+ forms. I'd press on the star next to the form you'd like to bookmark so you don't have to keep searching.

I'm so used to how the old xda app had all the forums scrollable from up to down.

That still exists too: https://forum.xda-developers.com/all
EDIT: Sorry just noticed you said you're using the app.
